Hixonau, your videos are fantastic. I am a newbie prospector and just claimed the gulch near you at Donovan Creek. Your hand mining videos are inspiring esp in terms of exploiting a hydraulic remnant like this, My tenure # is 838152 . If you would like to get together next summer in the area let me know. The wife and I want to camp out there,
aha 1:56 answered my question about bringing a gun out there, I've spent some time in the bush in BC and we've got bears everywhere from the Squamish Valley up to Stewart to Valemount and everywhere in between.
I've scared off black bears before but grizzlies are another story altogether, I saw one of those fuckers running at full speed across a clearcut after a moose and man it was way faster than I thought it would be
LOL......man if A grizzly wants to play your in trouble........I have played with many black bears and if you do things right the are no problem but them grizz are A diffrent story......LOL
great job, i really enjoyed the methods you've shared. i like how you point out various areas where gold would accumulate, like the sand bar, and then that terrace with all the various layers. it helps me spot potential places whenever I go out.
Interesting.... So would you dig more trenches down the graval bar say every 20-30 ft to see if the gold path that was initially found was acurate or maybe widened out? Or would you just start trenching north and south to swallow up the pay streak?
If the gravel bar was longer I would run A couple more trenches around 20 feet apart but if the area is small I would just follow the pay line down till it played out.......if it's A foot wide then take out 3 feet of it out.......look down river to where the gold most likley be heading.....it may run the streak on A angle to the next corner.
Great to see you and the dogs back at it! I've been too busy in the rat race to get out this season and brush up on the skills you taught me last year. Looking forward to seeing the progression on your claim.
man i gotta put a vid up of my area , it will give you wet , er , golden dreams .
