  • what is wrong with 15 people... are they deaf?

  • is this rockabilly?

  • second place sucks

  • AND a former Jarhead! Ooh Rah!!

  • 14 people need to stfu and listen to a lengend at his work

  • elvis was rockabilly

  • Uckin-fay enius-jay!

  • @comercuuy Learn to spell GENIUS you gutter-mouthed tool

  • @bigwatto95 What do you mean "learn to spell 'GENIUS' ?" The comment that I wrote phoneticly was in "Pig-Latin". Ig-pay atin-lay , get It? And what's with the hostility? Calling me a "gutter-mothed tool (sic) " is uncalled for. People on YouTube have cursed and posted some really vile and vulger statements which you must have seen. Are you that thin-skinned that you would be offended by what I had written? You don't even bother to comment on the video which is what YouTube is all about. AddSay

  • @comercuuy Sorry mate, I don't remember writing that comment, and I don't know why the hell I did.

  • I love this song, i remember one time i was in a bar when i was younger and this older lady was cutting a rug to this song and i was tunded up and joined in she showed me the dance moves man since then i cant stop dancing to this song. I love this song.

  • its the possum baby! we love him in nc!

  • Real Country Music!

I'll take Strait, Jones, Jackson & Travis over our Swift!

  • THIS is Country Music, the Simon Cowell created teenie bopper "modern country" wouldn't even pass for pop music in the late '70s.

  • he still alive because i went to his concert

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE LEAD GUITARS?? :D

  • I grew up hearing George in the 60's and 70's, this song takes me back to a simpler time.

  • @musiclover1809 Simpler time? This is the simplest time I've ever lived in.

I remember the late 1940's and ever era after.

I guess you had woman problems. Then you became a eunch and the

end of the 'problem'. "No Woman, NO man issue Problems!"

  • tubesteakfajitas? lol wtf

  • the race is on he,s out in frount!!!

  • glad to have lived in his time

  • He is A # 1 no matter who else is singing

  • Comment removed

  • i can't set on pause :P

  • Love this song!

  • @jmschulzehinger I had on a country stating a few days ago and it was good but didn't really reach out and touch me. I couldn't figure out why until a song by George Jones came on. All at once it hit me. That was country. Today's music is so corupted by a sound that made country acceptable to the younger, more hip, crowd that the country sound is almost gone. I really miss it

  • @TheSmooney That made no sense at all, you had on a country stating a few days ago? What country did you have on, and what exactly was it stating?

  • @Freedomman121, sorry post is a bit confusing, if u read all my posts you would see my Kid Rock reference is more about him as a country singer, which I feel he is NOT.

@tubesteakfajitas, read all my posts before you make a dumbass comment

  • My favorite...This is REAL country.

  • One of the original toe tappers, one you could tap your toe too, and swing your girl in your arms!

  • Now this takes me back lol, love it. Country today isn't what it once was...sad really

  • @omalahami Don't thank YouTube, thank the people who upload these videos!

Does anyone know what show this is from?

  • Whats better then that

  • I never insulted Christopher Plumber and Julie Andrews and that's the truth

  • There is noone and there will never be anyone who can even come close to COMPARE to George Jones BEST COUNTRY ARTIST EVER

  • @Donaldson311 That is a pretty strong comment. Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Hank Sr. Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Buck Owens, Hank Snow, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Buddy Holly plus countless others should also be considered.

  • @Donaldson311 You also have to consider Dwight Yoakam as one of the Best Country Artist Ever.

  • Roddy thanks for manning up and apologizing, you did teach me that it is now called psychobilly. I do believe music has to progress, but I'm pretty old school when it comes to country music because my family played it alot when I was young. You are correct when you say I sholud not knock them for at least trying to keep a dieing form of music alive. But this Kid Rock thing frost my ass sorry. Take care and you rockabilly allnight long

  • Bass player is awesome - even with the mullet..

  • This is country with soul. Not the new "pop" Country that is obviously done for money alone

  • Awesome song and clip. Who's on lead guitar?

  • What a great way to get over a broken heart! Everything's always better with a fun party filled with friends who know exactly what you're talking about - and can dance to it, too! Thanks, George!!

  • I want him

  • great song george! not grat lmao!

  • george jones can sing

  • drunk at 150 in the afternoon ad listen to george

  • I Love The Possum!!!

  • We love you George.

  • He's so ALIVE !!!

  • George Jones does this song a hell of alot better than Sawyer Brown LONG LIVE GEORGE JONES

  • becuase george has done so much it is hard to describe in a little paragraph what he has done and laid down for future artists. without george i think country would have died out a long time ago. long live george he has lived a long time

  • @deepwoodskentuckian as i do agree with that there is also one other man who country would have died without. And that man is sir Hiram King Williams. Or as they know him Hank Williams Sr. both of them artists are the idols and backbone of country as you and i know it so in short i hope the true kings of country are seen trough the "new pop country"

  • a great song and an even greater artisit its hard to say what george has done for country music. one of the last true country music legends alive today. i miss this kind of music

  • they should make a movie about george jones starring jim carrey.

  • Great Song! There's just one word you can say: C.S.A. !!!

  • gotta love george

  • awesome performer seen him when he was in london ontario canada at alumi hall

  • I love this song <3

  • great song

  • great song!!

  • at 1:34 you can see the devious little twinkle in his eyes lol

  • i watch this video every day i love his songs when he's older he sounds alot better than when he was younger

  • This is the kind of music that raises your spirit and restores your soul where as much of today's leads ones soul on a journey and lets just say its not towards Heaven.

  • lol...thats a good one!!

  • now this is country. now adays in the present time i turn on the radio or gac or cmt and hear some swift or underwood singing pop not country. cant stand the new stuf. george is one of the best along with haggard don williams hank williams sr jr and the 3rd. all are good jamey johnson aint bad either but none will ever fil george or merle or dons shoes. there are countless others as well that we will never have back.

  • But Hank III is keeping it going!

  • he's not dead i saw him a few months ago at blackbear casino in minnesota

  • as of october 14 at 10:11pm there are 323,604 veiw keep 'em coming guys

  • The possum's still the best

  • THIS IS COUNTRY ...not that rockabilly shit they try to pass off today. come on Kid Rock a country singer PLLLEEASE,

  • most modern country sucks dont get me wrong but dont go sayin rockabilly is shit the tru rockabilly music from the 50' is some of the greatest music around so just dont insult it

  • @darush012 Hi when I'm wrong I will admit it, You are correct the true early rockabilly is a truly great form of music, but as I said the Rockabilly they try to pass off today is sad, I will try to be more accurate in my future posts. Heres a beer toast to you an I and the hopes that true country music will make a comeback

  • @ptcpaul finally some1 said it

i was starting to freak out like when did this happen, did i fall asleep when everybody agreed that KID ROCK was a country singer

    He ain't no country singer

  • @ptcpaul rockabilly isnt shit you moron. Rockabilly is not a modern music either. Incase you didn't know, it started in the 50s! Learn your facts, dumbass. Besides, modernized rockabilly is known as Psychobilly.

  • @ptcpaul ahhh im sorry. i did not see your later post. I take back what i said. although, you shouldnt insult them for trying to keep Rockabilly alive.

  • @ptcpaul Rockabilly is a different style of music. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. I like country but I love rockabilly.

  • @ptcpaul fuck kid rock. go listen to hank 3, hillbilly casino, brian setzer, mike ness, jason and the scorchers, joe buck. kid rock is a talentless loser who for some reason thinks he is allowed to call him self a musician. fuck that.

  • @ptcpaul ever since about the 90's country went bad

  • @ptcpaul Kid Rock is rockabilly?! You don't make any sense.

  • @ptcpaul Do you know what rockabilly is? I think you are confused.

  • Comment removed

  • @ptcpaul what's wrong with rockabilly

  • @TheDreamgenie Nothing. It's the best rockin' music ever.

  • i could listen to this song allday. the new stuff just makes me want to take an asprin and have a cold one wondering where the hell things went wrong in music. i mean there is some talent today but not like george. new country music has some issues they need to adjust to.

  • you are so right brother todays music has went to the bottom of the barrel glad they are still some people that still know what country music really is god bless

  • what concert is this and can you get it on dvd

  • Legendary!!! -Bryan

  • One of todays great country singers, mr George jones. I also would like to know why people think he I'd dead, if he is dead I don't see how there is a concert ticket link on his iTunes page.

  • lol, George is not dead, I have tickets to his concert in wpg this year.

  • Yeah I guess he is dead...My only question is why is there a 2009 tour? Strange I didn't think artist could perform when there "Dead". Died in 2003? why has he released over 20 albums(including greatest hits) since 2003?Strange... Must be one of those mysteries...Where do you people get you facts about him dieing anyways?

  • aspirin is my drug of choice. at least when george was alive, he never wore one of those stupid gene autry cowboy hats that the singers of today wear.

  • he passed away on december 3rd, 2003. we all miss him. tammy does not miss him, however. is she still dead, too?

  • no ur full of shit ol george is still alive and kickin

  • i am sorry. he is dead. he had one heck of a funeral. tammy was there..keith whitley and Hank Williams all attended.

  • no he is not ur stupid he is alive and well

  • He's 77 and he sure does! He's playing the Cornerstone Casino in Verona NY in Aughust and I've got tix to see him at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario in October. I see another poster from Sudbury's got tix for the 19th and I've got em for the 23rd so the man's obviously keeping pretty busy. I hope he has this much fun on game night!

  • yea people are dumb they keep saying hes dead

  • That's not what todays news said. Massive heart attack!

  • Or try "I'm Feeling Lucky."

  • well the news is a lying piece of shit george is still alive

  • Id call this one of the best country songs of all time!

  • umm... George Jones is still alive. lol

  • george hasnt died who the fuck told u that he died

  • Bassist kicks Ass ! ! !

  • I used to HATE George Jones when I was 15, Avalondreamer2006, but I couldn't bang my head to Country Music. I have grown mellower, less of an anarchist, and consider George Jones right up there as a great Country classic.

Simpler times they were for music, that's for sure. Too many artists today are told they are talented and consumers keep buying their garbage. Everyone today wants to be like Hank, big John, Buck or George except they have Kid Rock, Billy Ray or Hank Jr talent and fail

  • Good for you, kid!!!!

    *;*

  • One of the greats. Back when singers just sang the song. Simple times. When men were men, and women were women. Love the way the ladies dress in this video!!

  • The bass player's mullet is awesome - powerful.

  • that is ron gaddis! a great musician! and also used to be married to lorrie morgan! the mullet kicks ass!

  • He is fun to watch. Rick Danko is still my favorite bass player to watch.

  • Heck! I just turned 15 and I think this is an example of REAL country music! Artists today think that if they add an acoustic guitar to their album, they can call it country. We love you George!

  • I'm 40 and I love this song and George!

  • I love him Too. From Michele in Houston, Texas

  • I'm learning this song on guitar now its class!

  • I am not that old but i love George Jones!

  • Best singer ever!

  • Pussycat Meow.

  • World's best singer. Legend. Long may he live.

  • Nobody in the Grateful Dead could stay in pitch to sing this.
