A person makes themselves. If they persevere through bullying and constantly being put down for who they are, or others think they are, then they will survive and thrive. But if they don't then they will have a hard life.
When you said that it never crosses your mind I just wanted to cry. I worry so much about always defining myself by my sexuality. You truly gave me hope. <3
Great message Kyle. You gave me goosebumps as Gabe in NTN. I'm looking forward to seeing your work in the future. Thanks for sending this out. It's important for our generation and those to come to know it's okay to be who we are.... and we should be proud of it. Wouldn't change who I am at all, even if I had the chance.
I'm straight and love musical theater but for some reason its odd to do that...so thank you kyle for this because it gives me hope... Gay or straight it gets better
I'm a male flutist, which isnt as uncommon as it used to be, but there still isnt very many in middle school and highschool. I was bullied all my middle school every day all day because of it. I eventually went homeschool because it was getting to be too much for me. It's sad how badly people are bullied due to closed mindedness and the traditional definition of what is right and not natural.
I think I just flagged your video by accident. Sorry! I was actually going to rate you 5 stars. I wish I can give you more. I just saw you on thrusday and I got to say I'm still in shock. It was amazing!! You're such an inspiration to us all and I really mean it. Thank you soo much!!
This means A LOT to me. I never actually got the chance to see next to normal, but I have always followed the show when my friend saw the final preview and said it was absolutely the best show, so I really got into the show. I have had a hard time in high school because of being gay, but looking at you and where you are, which is where I want to be one day, just gives me hope to keep going. :) Thanks!
Just saw you perform yesterday and you were fanfuckingtastic. Keep doing what your doing and im so happy you survived growing up gay in Arkansas, i have many friends that also love you and i know a ton of people who look at these videos for support so thanks for posting.
I saw you on the 23rd of December and you were FANTASTIC. This is a very inspiring video. I have a lot of friends who are gay (I'm not) but I have recommended this video to all of them. Thanks for putting this video up for the world to see, and break a leg with your last performances of N2N and your return to wicked:)
This is such a lovely, supportive video. Think how sad it would have been if you had given up due to social pressure. Sad for you and sad for the Broadway community. Thank you for being your own person and "giving it time", as you said. I saw you a month ago in N2N and you were superb. Thanks again for such a loving message.
Great video. Thanks for this. I believe actors, singers, and other public figures should use whatever platform afforded them for good. This is exactly what Kyle Dean Massey, a leading man of Broadway, is doing here and I appreciate it.
hey, so i saw you in next to normal last sunday and you were amazing i love your voice, and i just wanted to tell you that ur amazing and my high school is tyring to make a change with LGBTQ youth and for them and we just did the Laramie Project and its really cool, and the show was really good, and im lucky because my high school is really talented, so thanks for sharing your story :) ~Jen

Thanks for posting such a positive video. Your sending a great message out to the blinded society who need to notice that differences in all forms must be accepted for productivity, love and happiness. It gets better.
you are wonderful Kyle Dean................we first saw you in 2008, late April in the cast of Xanadu, playing four different parts................we have been watching your progress ever since from Oklahoma... well done you
I'm a straight teen performer who has been teased for participating in musical theatre, something that, as you said, "boys don't usually do". This video spoke to me not only for that reason, but because I am 100% behind the LGBT movement. What a wonderful video, Kyle. Thanks so much.
I teased horribly during middle school. I had a learning disability and was called stupid and people made me cry all thru gym class. I literally got physically sick almost everyday - I missed 36+ days in 1 year. My parents spoke to the teachers, principals, etc... and they did NOTHING. The schools have to talk to the teachers, principals, vice principals, teacher aids, etc more about bullying because they did nothing for me or these kids and this has to stop.
Kyle Dean, this was one of the most heart warming videos I've seen. It's so amazing to see actors, performers, and anyone really, sharing these videos. It's inspiring and hopeful. We need to keep hope, and keep on believing. You are such amazing proof that it really does get better. Thank you.
A noble sentiment. If you can stand it, please support the facebook page dedicated to the kids who took their own lives. It has sadly become a target of horrific homophobia. And Kyle, you're very easy on the eyes and just keep existing!
There was one other gay :) Joseph birdsong.
Completely agree though, never give up, fuck the hates. Stick to doing what you do best :)
