It's all about smooth movements, never ever ever lock your brakes, slow down! One other tip.. if you find yourself going down a hill, and not able to stop, slowly put your tires into the ditch, the loose snow will slow you down.

My parents moved down to Cleveland, tennessee from Indiana in 1964 & moved back to Indiana in 1967. people down there were Amazed that my Dad could drive when there was snow on the road. they would get an inch of snow & the entire area would be in a snow emergency. In Indiana we get 4 inches & hardly notice.
