Bought this album back in 1974. Wore it out, bought another one, wore it out again, bought the CD. This song is one of my all time favorites. In my book, one of the best guitar and Sax solos I've ever heard.
my favorite song from my favorite group from the 70's. Great solo work ono the parts of Jimmy Messina (guitar) and Jon Clarke I think on Sax. It could also have been Al Garth on sax, but I believe it was Clarke.
@foggy4180 appreciate doesn't even come close to describing it. I bought Mother Lode when it was first released in 1974. I wore it out. I must have purchased it on vinyl 11 or 12 times. I've had it on CD since it was released. I have over 300 CD's by the majority of great artists from the 60's, 70,s and 80's and to this day it stands as my favorite album of all time. Nice to kow I'm not alone.
@foggy4180 I bought Mother Lode when it debuted in '74. I wore it out. It still stands as my favorite CD of all time today. Nice to know there are others who believe the same.

@lyrics47 The inlay of the cd says: violin and horns Al Garth and flute and horns Jon Clarke, so both is possible.
Nice playing of Jim Messina also, nice you appreciate this music; after 35 years of playing this cd it's still beautiful.
