Pt 3 Sorry but really wanted 2 get at least main pts in. I've read literally hundreds of books presenting all sides, from recent releases to those going back to the beginning of Spiritualism. I've also studied comparative religions. Nearly all have references to communication w/the "dead." Catholic Saints were canonized for it. Jesus was a Medium. And many are not aware the word "Medium" meant something different in Biblical times.
So have you really done all this & with an open mind??

@VeryFineWhine To answer your questions. I have had over 200 readings one to one, I hav investigated over 1000 mediums and their readings to others. I have been to spiritualist churches all over the country. I have seen over 50 live theatre mediumship shows, oh and I completed a mediumship course top of the class with a direct teaching lineage that included Gordon Higginson, Ron Jordan and Glynn Edwards. Trust me, I am the most experienced skeptic you ever met.

@BadPsychicsTV And you feel Glynn Edwards isn't a legit Medium?? He used to come to the States annually, I saw him at church and in large and small lectures and he was always very detailed and quite accurate in his readings.
And are you saying in those 200 readings, where I assume you did the usual replies of "yes, no or I don't understand" ONLY, which is all ANY legit medium wants, you never got any accurate communications? Sorry, I'm having a hard time believing that.

@VeryFineWhine And if you knew anything about skepticism, you would know that having an open mind is th very basic necessity of that. In fact believers are close minded as they have already made up their mind, Skeptics are open to new evidence.

@BadPsychicsTV Actually nearly all the skeptics I've had the "pleasure" of chatting with had never seen a legit Medium work live, never been to a Spiritual Church & never had a private reading, let alone done any research on it. I actually don't disagree with you that some believers are too fast to accept everything & rush to give a medium too many details. It's why I stick to what I mentioned below-"yes, no or I don't understand" replies only. BTW JohnE agrees everyone should be a skeptic.

What' s your evidence for Jesus having been a medium? Are you thinking of the Transfiguration where he supposedly met Moses and Elijah on a mountaintop? Isn't it more likely just to be a legend? Other than that I can't think of anything that could be called mediumship. And what did the word "medium" mean in Biblical times according to you? The English word "medium" didn't even exist then, so I'm not sure what you mean.

@oliveranthonyrowland It would be far more pleasant if a question was asked as such, not as a berating challenge. SIGH. First, in biblical times the word "medium" referred to a soothsayer or fortune teller NOT someone who communicated with spirits.
As for the rest, I'd suggest you do some reading.It's far more complicated then I can do justice in a YouTube reply. But if you want a fast example of someone who was Canonized based on their ability to speak with the dead- St Gerard Majella.

Obviously the English word "medium" did not exist. Are you referring to certain Bible passages? All I can think of is things like the passage that says do not suffer a witch to live and other verses that do not encourage anything related to magic, or mediumship or fortune telling etc.

And when you say Jesus was a medium, do you then just mean he was a fortune teller or soothsayer? But then you go on to claim a certain saint used to communicate with spirits. So are you talking about the "soothsayer" or the "talker with spirits" meaning?

@VeryFineWhine I couldn't help but notice you've provided no information that would help us verify your story about mediums helping the police. Most of the stories I see are mediums making some silly claim, then the police solving the crime independently, and the medium claiming their prediction was right, when they really said something extremely vague, and then made some very big stretches to make it sound right.

@halleyscomet I would criticize any Police Department that resorts to any form of superstition to solve crime. Even as a last resort.. personally I would feel that is an insult to the family of the deceased and the investigation it self. Again my opinion so don't hate.
