Why is it that ever since the movie Restrepo came out, every "soldier" came or was from the Korengal Valley, even though the majority in the fighting is taking place in Sangin, Helmand province. At first Afghanistan was hell, now it's mostly been pacified. Not saying it's the safest place in the world, but it's not as dangerous as it once was.

stuff like this really happens. my sister is in the 82nd air born and she told me about the first year she wazz in iraq in a convoy and she had to pull a guy out the h1 in front of them and she had to return fire and the person that wazz shooting at her wazz a boy about 10 or 11 years old and she had to kill him. and now she has been in about 3 years and it is soo bad the stuff that have to go threw. god bless all of the solders fighting for our freedom

To say that it's only the fault of those who send them to war (the government) is the Nuremburg defense. "I was just taking orders." Iraqi police said the two women were travelling to hospital in Samarra when their vehicle came under fire from the Americans.

When I was in the Heer I met several Royal Marines who has served in Iraq, and I can tell you that it is not hell by any standards. There is no way there is ever going to be peace and that's because everybody thinks differently and has different opinions, the reason I get mad at people is because I've had friends go over there and it's not pretty, so I'm generally defensive about the subject. It's an anti-war movie. I personally didn't like it, probably because I expected it to be about something else. It's about a squad of soldiers that are assigned to guard a checkpoint that end up raping an afghani (or Iraqi, I forget where the movie is based) girl.

I know that I see enough of this bullshit on the media and don't need to see any war movies making soldiers out to look like this. I never complained about the movie not having action, I could care less, but this movie showed soldiers violently raping an afghani girl. I'm pretty sure the movie was about what war does to people, but some people are idiots who watch this and it will give them just one more reason to hate soldiers.
