  • @jay733 wraps help take pressure off the knees and add support to the joint. He lifts alot and probally has some knee pain.

  • @bigboner87 , If you hadn't noticed; he's competing in bodybuilding, not power-lifting. Strength doesn't matter. Judge him by symmetry, shape, size, and definition.

  • Yeah, I totally hear what you're saying.... As someone who loves weightlifting, I think it is ridiculous to be so fucking big and not be that strong..... Check out Ronnie Coleman or Kai Greene, those dudes go for symmetry and are strong as fuck. I believe it is possible to be symmetrical and be a strong ass, cock diesel motherfucker hahah. Furthermore, the fact that Jay is so big and relatively lacks strength suggests that he just does mad roids.... I have more respect for Ronnie all the way.

  • I get your point, and I do have respect for Kai and Ronnie. But something to consider is that not everyone has the same genetics for strength. Coleman is a f-king alien. Cutler is still pretty strong, judging by some of his lifts in other videos. Just not as strong as a J.Jackson or Ronnie. To not risk injury, he backs off on the weight a bit. Jay is smart, he's going for longevity. Look at Ronnie's lats and triceps today, they're screwed. That's the risk off going super heavy all the time.

  • Fair enough, fair enough. I just don't see the point in being soo fucking big and not being able to lift much; I find it kind of pointless. Its like useless muscle, but to each his own. Check the skinnier dude in this video, he is lifting just as much... I think Jay probably takes way too many roids.... and if that is the case, he is being awarded for drug use rather than crucial ass weightlifting. Oh well, take it easy dude.

    NO ONE cares how strong he is, the judges DON'T judge bodybuilders by how much they, squat, bench, press, etc., they are judged by symmetry, conditioning, fullness, and size.

  • No shit.... would you want to be as big as him knowing that people less than half your size could lift way more than you? It is, in my opinion, useless muscle if it is sooo big and can't lift that much. It is possible to be symmetrical and strong as shit. Furthermore, many bodybuilders these days look too bloated, they need to take it back to the days of Arnold.

  • i would LOVE to be his size! That's what bodybuilding is. Jay Cutler's training partner is 2x smaller than him, yet Cutler is the one who is going into the Olympia. Please don't come on here posting negative shit.

  • but why not be that size and lift massive weight? Not to be an asshole, but it appears that his size is largely from roids rather than lifting: hence the fact that his partner is lifting just as much with way less mass. And, if that is the case, Mr. Olympia just has a lot to do with taking roids, in addition to a crucial diet, of course. It just seems like someone that big who is not working with much weight relative to his own weight has big, yet weak, muscles. Ronnie has huge, strong muscles.

  • I understand what you're saying, but you have to realize what bodybuilding has become. Yes, Ronnie is strong, but nobody cared about his strength, people loved him for being Mr. Olympia. About steroids, they play a role, yes, however, it is a very small roll in comparision to other aspects of the sport. Steroids play about15% overall, the other 85% is precise diet and nutrition, well rounded conditioning, and dedication. Why can't you understand that in this sport, it's how look, not what can do

Furthermore, you shouldn't look at aspects, such as diet, and roids seperately: anyone with Jay's diet will not look like him unless they are on roids, period. Hence the fact this dude in the video can lift just as much and not look like a bloated freak with relatively weak muscles for their size. In regard to Ronnie, he lifted big as shit and has obtained the Mr. Olympia title more than anyone else. That says something.

  • wraps, powerlifters and bodybuilders use the them to keep their knees more stable. Jay usually don't uses them I believe, but this close to a contest fluid levels makes his joints dry I guess

THE SECOND REASON MIGHT BE SINCE HE IS REMOVING SO MUCH WATER AND LIQUIDS FROM HIS BODY, HIS LIGAMENTS AREN'T AS STRONG AS IN HIS OFF SEASON. YOU LIFT LIGHTER BUT YOUR LIGAMENTS ARE WEAKER.
