That is cool! What did you use to trigger the shutter? you can also use a mechanical intervalometer for all cameras like this one tempusALL. bymac.org
@NOPSteam They couldn't do that with this set because a lot of it was built from plywood and after sinking it a few dozen times for the movie, the set became too unstable to allow for a tourist attraction. Sadly, now only a few pieces remain. Plus a few interior sets like the Smoking Room, 1st Class Hallway, Veranda Cafe and I believe a bit of the Dining Room. Oh, and the Wireless Room set is still there.
@goodgoodgoodful that makes no intelligent sense...they are construction workers not supermen, next time use your brains before making a stupid statement like that
It looks like a real ship, pretty amazing set. DW Griffith made a movie (Intolerance) in 1916 and parts of the Babylon set stood for years, partly because Griffith couldn't afford to pay demolition fees. The Vista Theater at Sunset and Hollywood Blvd is where "Babylon" stood.
kudos to the set designers. they don't make 'em like this anymore

they built the titanic in 4:10 minutes :O

In today's movie world, this would all be done with CGI. This must have been the largest movie set ever.

they can rebuild Titanic i think
jasonlego387 4 months ago
@jasonlego387 Yes. But they amount of money it would cost...
scorpianofthesun 3 months ago
@scorpianofthesun i mean it could happen
jasonlego387 3 months ago
@jasonlego387 its considered a bad luck/taboo to rebuild a ship which has sunk and give it its original name.

If Michael Bay directed this movie there would have been explosions everywhere

the video nuber 3.14 is very funny because the stern falls
Terralac125 7 months ago
@Terralac125 It isn't falling, the stern section was being used in the Final sinking scenes, where the ship was tilted

how much money for this??? flm???
TheVansatria 9 months ago
If George Lucas made this movie, he'd have shot every scene against a greenscreen and composited the ship into everything.
Gotta hand it to James Cameron. He doesn't half-ass things...
SuperSaiyanAl 10 months ago
I think they should have kept the set and modernized it with our technology. Then we would technically see the Titanic today.

Please tell me, is the set still excising? Or did they demolished it all after the film was complete? would love to visit it one day.
Would be a big waste of money if they did demolished it, its such a great set!

it would have been very nice if they have made it a shelter for the homeless

It's amazing what the film industry will do for a few weeks then tear it all down!
They were not smart back then! Now, when a studio has a large set built, they will use it in other ways such as tourist attractions.
There was talk of building a replica Titanic ship/hotel in Las Vegas. But the economy disabled the idea.
