  • thats not the right way making Malaysian curry.. thats total crap.. 'whatever herbs?'.. memalukan la dik oiii...

  • Hello,The lady fingers look like okra, is it the same?

  • The Fish Curry has its origin in Singapore , way before the Malaysians , the first Fish Curry shop was opened back in the 1920s when the people of Madras taught a chinaman the recipe and he then commercialized it when he opened the Nam Cheong Curry Fissh Head at Katong. So its only fair to say that the Fish Curry is actually a Singapore dish

  • @hirziboy i have a family fish curry recipe that goes back to about 5 generations from melacca... i cant pin point and say who makes the 1st fish curry in southeast asia... but im pretty sure my family's recipe beat the katong version in terms of timeline

  • @hirziboy You may know that Madras is the old name of Chennai, is the capital city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

  • Well done girls. How I wish I could taste it. Missed the gulai ikan a lot.

    Jasmine

  • is that a electric shock! hehe

  • Covered with plate. Lol!!!

  • to you, but to me, its totally wrong. I have been to Malaysia and I have never seen like this white in color curry. Plus never put the fish at the beginning as ESARAJP mentioned, not only in curry, in what ever you cook.

  • please note..you must have the curry as in gravy in high heat before you put the fish in!!!

  • i like the banjo beats!

  • I understood "bucutan lady finger". What is this and would it be a common ingredient for a seafood/fish curry? Thanks

  • derz no need 2 put in the star anise, cloves n cinnamon stix for fish curry...thoz r 4 beef/chicken curry only..for fish curry we normally use halba campur..n we put ocre in d final stage, when d curry iz boilin 2 get rid of the slimy thingy..diz iz juz an additional info..tq.

  • Oooh, I love gulai dishes. mmm, ikan, ayam yum :)

  • periuk kau tu tak dak tudung ka?

  • looks good

  • tp kalo kari india diorg x pki santan@susu...2 yg kari dpa blh thn lama smpi seminggu...

  • I can almost taste the curry - you said fish or barimiundi - is that what the type of fish is?

  • You can use mullet ot barramundi - basically any firm fish that you think would be good for cooking. Goodluck!

  • A typical Malaysian fish curry would use Tamarind extract to add flavour. There usually is no need for the spices she add in the beginning but this is her own version, the fish curry powder is a standard product found in any asian groceries. Hope you try it at home!

  • gulai ikan tu dipanggil kalu north and east part of semenanjung...tapi kalu west and south still panggil kari ikan as long as u used curry powder...

gulai kalu kuah warna kuning tu..similar to masak lemak but masak lemak more pekat from gulai..

  • what's the fish curry powder made of?

    good vid
