RUBIKS STUDIO was not around in the 80s!!! Old cubes were made by IDEAL TOYS AND MATCHBOX. Rubiks Studio was formed in the 00's by Erno Rubiks as a small shop that makes replicas of the originals.

But this is probably a knock off from the 80s! Google Wonderful Puzzler for more info. There were tons of these knockoff in the 80s!

what makes you think that you can pry out the piece with a pencil anyways? Even if your cube was broken in (which it didn't seem like it).

na its not a studio, the spring in the that cube comes all the way up the core, but in the studio it doesnt :)

a real studio doesnt have stickers like that. they're thicker, like pvc stickers, they dont really have that second layer of clear covering.
