Hi there,

I found that the crest whitening strips work pretty good. I notice a difference the first few times I used it, but the more I used them though the less difference I saw.

As far as the whitening tooth paste and mouth washes, they don't seem to do anything at all. What worked the best for me was the Idol White product, it worked really quickly. They had a free sample offer so you can try it out and see how it works for yourself.

Omg thank you so much! You have no idea how much this helped, my teeth were starting to get yellow because i didnt know how to brush them with braces on. My ortho didnt explain it to me, i guess he didnt since for now i only have brackets on my 4 front teeth, its a long story why i only put 4; the treatment is comlicated haha.

@turtlelover64 they're really not that bad. i got them 2 days ago and this is my 3rd day and they hurt my first day, the second day i couldn't eat because it hurt when i bit on things, today it's getting a lot better and i can eat but it's sore. people make it seem worse than it really is. the pain isnt unbearable, it hurts but you can handle it.

@krunchbittersweet ahh good luckk. first day was a painn:/ but it gets better trust me. it took me a week for EVERYTHING to be all good and to eat without any sorness. first 3 days i could barely eat only mashed potatoes,a pple sauce, stuff like that. 4-7 days were just sore. by next week trust me you can eat whatever you want just dont bit into an apple. third month with braces:]

@turtlelover64 They hurt a couple hours after you get them on. You won't be able to eat much when they hurt. I couldn't even eat bread. It's even worse when you have REALLY sensitive teeth.

I've had braces for 3 years, and in the first year I never used the proxy brush because I thought it was a waste of time. I brushed my teeth twice a day but because I didn't use the proxy brush, I got a couple of cavities. I use it religiously now!

this answered all my questions. my dentist said to do it after every meal but i eat so frequently, i just do it before i go to sleep and after i wake up. i swish water in my mouth after every meal to get the food out.
