hey, I just got OFFICE 2007 PROFESSIONAL 3 PCS FREE TO 2010, ACROBAT 9 PRO, WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE at very low price at website : discountingshop . The seller lives in La Jolla, CA 92093, softwares are PERFECT. Highly recommended!!!
artanis said."It's a pain to have to learn the GUI, but after using it constantly It is actually a lot more efficient" wouldn't it have been better to just add the new efficiency to the time trusted and excellent 2003 menu bars instead ?
same with excel -- I just tried to select a print area, pull down the print menu there is no function It is somewhere else! AND..on the print menu in Word there is no Print Preview button. I searched every menu and cant find it...Back to my other computer...with word 2003
Yeh but how do you LEARN the new ribbon interface? Coming from Word 2003 it is so UNintuitive. I just wanted to delete a column in a table...there's no delete - well yes i know there has to be - but after 5 minutes I went back to my other computer. Just dont have time to spend hours learning how intuitive and user friendly it is.
I've been using Office 2007 for 2 years now. It's a pain to have to learn the GUI, but after using it constantly It is actually a lot more efficient. Much easier and faster to get documents to look professional. I do remember the days of hating the GUI. But after a while it's so hard to live without its efficiency.
Frankly, 2007 sucks. The display is messy & distracting, the 'ribbon' is confusing and makes EVERYTHING harder to find. After weeks, I am still struggling to navigate around, rather than going to file or edit to find most of the useful keys, I now find myself having to search high and low for each individual function one at a time. And what's with 'HOME', how does that reflect the functions in it? The entire suit is difficult and time consuming unlike the previous user friendly version.
@jtking2504 the transition is a pain. I came across a search add-in that was pretty useful to find those hard to find functions. It doesn't work in access or outlook though.
Google: Search Commands Add-in Office 2007
It should be the first result but if not it is from officelabs(dot)com.
I've been using 2007 for about 2 years at home but at work we still use 03 and I do prefer 07. It took a while to get use to the interface and that add-in was somewhat helpful though I starting using it a year after the switch. At first I used a flash site that let you click an item in the old menu system and it animated where it was in the ribbon. There is also another add-in that shows the old menu system it's $30 and I didn't want to get stuck in the past so I just spent a lot time learning.
yes u can, but u must do make some settings... search on youtube "change format to 2007" then the files will be like in 2003 and all office will open your files!
The difference is you have to pay again more money to do the same jajajaja, i will use office 97, 2003, 2007 to TYPE and SAVE. 90% of the people use all versions of office to do the same, Dont waste your money just beacause you want to have the latest. Use your common sense..
Nice job explaining, the miniscule differences in the two programs..
I have a question for anyone who has an answer, i would greatly appreciate it. I have tried everything under the moon except uninstall and reinstall the software. I want that to be the last resort
Question: "On my menu bar in MS Word my File properties is MISSING. Does anyone know how I can retrieve it & restore it back on my menu bar..Thnx
i got office 2007 sp1 and it seems very nice the only problem is it eats your memory up and it slows your computer up like hell and it crashes every 5 minutes i dont even have that bad computer ive got 2.66 ghz pentium procceser with 512mb of ram with xp and ive tweaked my system to make it really good but honestly if you have office 2003 keep it its no different it dosent eat up ram the obli differnce is the menues and the metalic light blue colour thats it
I use the OpenOffice suite, but I bought office 2007 because, even though OpenOffice dose a fine job of making documents/presentations/spreadsheets, the conversation can end up sloppy, plus I need the grammar check witch OpenOffice does not have unfourtanlly -_-, I know that there is an add-on called language tools witch has the grammar check but, it is a pain in the ass to use.
2007 is a joke. It is the clumsiest most counter-intuitive piece of junk software out there. Damn tags on everything. Cannot customize worth a damn. No more simple easy layout. Have to click the ribbon to scratch your ass. Getting a hanging indent for a bib page is like Indiana Jones looking for Mayan treasure. This software is an anti-social disgrace.
I have 2007 at home, while my lazy ass college uses 2003. I am being forced to learn both systems at once. A has been and a new system...it sucks. I just want to learn 2007 and have it down. I am in Web Design and want to get the new goods down to a T, not have to unlearn while learning. Doesn't make sense to me. I think 2007 looks better, just wish Fucking Gates would have included Access instead of OneNote...WTF. It's only $100 more.
I agree wid dis guy when he says that the difference can be said when you say your purpose for using Office. But hey! MS Excel 2007 is way too.. i repeat Way too advanced... a simple example... The color... 16 in 2003 and 4.3Billion in 2007... think again
The only difference between the office 2003 and 2007 is the the layout, and the organized tools that a user can use...office 2007 is a user's friendly office productivity tool...

I hate 2007. The GUI is absolutely awful. It's like I always say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
