you see, into 2000+,here he continued the road thing, and he knew very well that as we say in the biz"The Road Will Kill You." But no no no, Jimmy NEVER failed on the road, just kept gettin better:he did cruises, world appearances and played with the constellation of jazz legends-and he was true thru the end. 4evah. DYNOmite drums... Jimmy would give guys like u and Jimmy Jackson their cameos on the road, and all I can say is in the immemorial words of Diz:"You tore'm UP, baby." like uh woooow
And I agree with you 100% and I am very fortunate to be the drummer on that clip to be able to say I had the honor and the privilege in working with the great Jimmy Smith before he passed on. Truly an experience I will not forget and cherish.

Well, George-I spotted this video for the great Jimmy Smith's playing, but I'll have to say that you had a jammin' solo on this tune!

Le drummer pourrait s'habiller correctement. Jimmy Smith a toujours incarné une certaine élégance. L'autre est d'une grande vulgarité

He was one of the reasons why i started playing drums. The other reasons: Art Blackey and Clifford Brown....
