I guess you've been to just a few destinations in China? I know of a few places worthy of going which you've not: Jiuzhaigou,Huangshan, Huashan, Longmen Grottos,Kaifeng (chinese jews live here),Heavenly lake,Lijiang,Zhangjiajie,Mt Emei, Woolong Panda reserve,Mt Leshan (gigantic buddha by the sea),Grt wall portion of Jiayuguan,Overhanging great wall n that extends into the sea,the silk road from xian to the tarim basin incl dunhuang, mogao caves,beijing-tibet rail to Lhasa, n a lot more.

can you tell me what month you were there and what was weather like ?

@snaffoooooo We were there April 2006. The weather in the north was a bit cold and windy. We had a sand storm from the Gobi for about 4 days and made going outside very difficult. Besides that it was pretty nice, especially in the south.

when watching such ancient structures it always makes me wonder what it would of been like to be living in the times when they were just build! :D
