I wish the world would stop obsessing over K-Pop. K-Pop may sound good but the lyrics are shallow. C-Pop/ MandoPop is so deep, poetic, and full of meaning, the music is also on the traditional side. K-Pop is pretty much only popular because of its Western Taste and Appearance. Jay Chou is King of Pop in the East. He sings about listening to your parents and family while Korea is losing that cultural string and singing about getting funky. Don;t get mad at me I read it on some website.

@HsushiKing Taste in music is subjective, but I can agree with the lyrics. I've been translated both Korean and Chinese lyrics for years...rather than shallow, I think it would be more accurate to say kpop lyrics are more repetitive and literal. Mando-pop usually does have more variety, a deeper meaning and more metaphoric, so it's more difficult to translate into English. I also generally find Canto-pop even more difficult to translate than mando-pop.
