I miss mine so much. mine died last year and until you actually have a tortoise no one will understand the attachment and bond you get with it. it's like having a child. I was mortified when I came home and my parents told me it had died. (sorry for that bit of a depressing comment) hope yours is doing well :') I've got a video on my channel in memory of my tortoise check it out. I'm actually nearly in tears watching this video.. :/

Hi, what uvb light have you got for him? 2.0, 5.0, or 10.0? Because apparently the 10.0 is for desert reptiles, and horsfields are from deserts, but also I've heard it can filter into UVC radiation which at 10% is harmful, and I've heard it must always be 5.0 for tortoises, so it's very confusing. Which is yours?:) Thanks.

hi i got 2 horsfield tortosie on the 6th of febuary and i have had them now for 4 days and 1 is called albert and the other is called daisy but daisy just wants to sleep and sleep and sleep i hardly ever see her eat compared to albert and she always sleeps in the same spott. im worried that she is not eating enoghe is there any way any one could help. and she is very light compeared to each other and they where born on the same day, there 1 year old and daisy has only eatin once in 4 days :(

Look, i really really really... want a horsfield tortoise, but i got a few questions. 1. If you look after them all the time and are good with them, di they smell???

2. Do you have to pay alot and lot of bills for vets? 3. Are they worth having or are they to much money for what they are?

I have one - they don't smell - athough some of the bedding you can get for them can smell a bit - but if you choose the right bedding they are fine. Not much in vet fees - mostly just need to take them to be wormed once a year. They are slow during the winter months - but in the summer are very active - explore the garden etc. Our kids love the tortoise and play with it a lot.
