mac mini is not a full feature computer, a full feature computer allows upgrading, mac mini is a disposable computer for a ton of money, you cannot upgrade it. And macs don't 'just work' they have the same failures as any computer. This was written on a mac mini that freezes and crashes a lot, WITHOUT windows on it at all. Parallels has come a long way. New crystal mode lets you run it without a virtual machine. It simply uses the compatibility layers to run it looking like you have a mac native version.

Good for you then, here in Sweden you will have to pay about $190-$285 just for the Windows XP license, that is if you can find it anywhere. And also far as I can see a Macbook pro 17" costs about $2900 here... so if we sum it up it will cost me over $3000 to buy a Mac+Windows XP...

When the macbook is free is a totally different story as to why i switched. that and mac gives me everything i wanted that PC couldn't give me in the pasted 12years or so.I never really felt the need until i got to play with my own free mac. Then it went from there. The main focus is mac can do more with less hassle and much faster as to PC's were the opposite. and restoring was such a pain! you couldn't go 3 months without slowing down
@6satan6ist6 that's your opinion... Mine is a bit different, my Linux box has an uptime of almost a year (11 months, 13 days and counting) and the last time I shut it down was to plug in some more RAM.
My Vista/Ubuntu workstation currently runs Vista and hasn't been rebooted since June 28th and still shows no slowing down whatsoever.
I haven't had the need to do a restore on either one of those machines or any of my 2 laptops (one Vista/Ubuntu and one Windows 7 x64 for my job)

Its extensively used and about every 3 months the PC would slow down on me or something would go wrong. like the network drivers magically deleting their self, that was a popular one. Then i would need to run a very extensive diagnostic and/or restore. very annoying. Windows 7 isn't bad either. I was focused on XP all my life. maybe your lucky lol im not

Microsoft is a Software company. Apple are a hardware company using software to sell their hardware. Apple do not allow other manufactureres to make mac's. hence they control the price due to lack of competition. i would like to try osx, but the fact of the matter is a 1000s worth of computer hardware that i can run any operating system on except mac. i dont think this is fair. by the way you can get osx to run in a vm off of windows or linux.
5:04 the last time i used a media button was 10 secs ago to start my windows media player. im gonna use the shutdown button in minute. and a regular keybord has 101/102 keys, not 1000.
again, try running ettercap on OS. Here's why you can't:
ettercap is made specifically for linux. Sure, you could probably emulate a run time on OS, but most mac users wouldn't even know what an emulation is.
also, you can theoretically run any program on any kind of machine. You could probably run photoshop on your ti-83, if you toned it down a bit and emulated some software.
however, if you're not a complete idiot when using windows, there should be no problem with programs.
nice way to google ettercap and only look at the front page. do a little digging, and you will find that if you don't use linux you have to compile it in a special program, don't know about OS but i do know windows requires cygwin.

Because for a long time people have been using PCs in masses and people with Macs have to be compatible with them too, and there are some things that Mac does that PC doesn't just like there are some things PC does that Mac doesn't. Thing is with Mac you can run Mac OS X AND Windows cooperatively side-by-side.. on a PC you can not do that.

i was comparing the QUALITY. also i was at best buy the other day and i was pretty impressed. so i would call my other comments a bit outdated. i would have gotten the mac but i couldn't afford it so i ended up getting win 7 which is OKAY compared to Leopard. but i do think Apple is starting to over do it on the way the hardware looks. Who needs a 27" screen?

Apple do not allow other manufactureres to make mac's. hence they control the price due to lack of competition. i would like to try osx, but the fact of the matter is a 1000s worth of computer hardware that i can run any operating system on except mac. i dont think this is fair. by the way you can get osx to run in a vm off of windows or linux.

again, try running ettercap on OS. Here's why you can't:
ettercap is made specifically for linux. Sure, you could probably emulate a run time on OS, but most mac users wouldn't even know what an emulation is.
also, you can theoretically run any program on any kind of machine. You could probably run photoshop on your ti-83, if you toned it down a bit and emulated some software.
however, if you're not a complete idiot when using windows, there should be no problem with programs.

I have you to know that having indexing on your Hard Drive will die faster so in a way Mac is killing your hardware LoL. For one Instant search on Vista is not a rip off there is a law that says that you cannot copyright ideas and that spotlight trick you use on Mac is an idea so yea we can use it as well we just can't use the same name since the name is copyrighted.

Vista does not include stuff like iLife LoL ummmm what stone age are you in cause we are in the future fool. iMovie we have something like it called Windows Movie Maker and iPhoto we have Windows Photo Gallery. Now on Garageband we have nothing included but you could probably find Open Source Software that is just like it.

Viruses LoL Use Avast on your Windows PC it takes about 4 o 5MB of RAM to use the on-access protection and it keeps all the viruses away. It also scans while you are using the PC like it scans web pages and files you download

now, I'm not anti-apple or anything, but my preference is pc. Can you accept that or are you still going to tell me that my preference is wrong. 1 question: why are people taking this pc vs. mac war to heart. let the companies duke it out, all that will happen is we, the consumers, will receive the best of the best, not just some mediocre software. trying to convert all pc users to mac and vice versa would stop this competition, we need compition!

Because for a long time people have been using PCs in masses and people with Macs have to be compatible with them too, and there are some things that Mac does that PC doesn't just like there are some things PC does that Mac doesn't. Thing is with Mac you can run Mac OS X AND Windows cooperatively side-by-side.. on a PC you can not do that.

my pc just works. and why the hell would i want to run os x on my pc? xp is fine. btw mac can't run AutoCAD which I need for work. i never get viruses. only people don't have virus protection, click on porno pop ups, and are dumb enough to open email from people they don't know get viruses. i can make dvd movies.
