  • Oh look. Propaganda beer!! This is SUCH a first world problem dude. Who cares?

  • I have followed Mr. Bloom's story for a while now, and I am glad that he has got what he wanted. In no way shape or form should he have the right to put the hammer and sickle to replace the stars. If I am correct this hasn't been the only time Mr. Bloom has gotten his label revoked... Maybe he should stick with being smart instead of losing money for risky labels.

  • The land of the free BAHAHAHAHA welcome to tyranny America

  • this guy is a douche

  • @virgo47tp Worse than a douche....

  • They'll be calling the US flag hate speech, people who uphold the constitution terrorists, and white males who aren't self-effacing racists, since basically whats going on is a racially actuated communist subversion of our country. It is no bureaucratic snafu that you cant show your flag, it's cultural erasure.

  • @NihilistImp "They'll be calling ppl who call for the upholding of the constitution terrorists" i thought that was already happening

  • I think the flag on the bottle represents Amerika perfectly.

  • @RandomGuyinunderwear WTF is Amerika??

  • Yep, USC prevents using the American Flag in certain applications. Is this stupid, yes - in this context, but the code is there to ultimately protect the flag.

  • nevermind, I just read the description, silly me! haha... wow... beer is good!

  • I will buy dozens of cases of this beer, do they have a website?

  • That's funny. I brew my own beer and pop good thing I don't label it.

  • Than God our Federal government has time to worry about beer lables. Silly things like what the FED is doing with its printing press is too complicated to follow for us common folk any way.

  • GOOD BEER EVEN BETTER LABEL

  • Considering that our current government has instituted all 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto into our current government, then it probably is fitting for the flag to have the hammer and cycle on it.

  • This is bogus.

Yes, there are things one shouldn't do with the flag according to the flag code, but, the flag code is more or less unenforceable on normal civilians. Even flag burning is a legal form of expression.

at any rate... i suppose you could find some loophole by reproducing an image with the flag that was designed for some government publication.... all works authored by the us government have no copyright and are public domain :)

  • So Dave, you know where I could buy this stuff online?

  • Of course, technically the US flag is not for use on 'anything intended to be discarded after temporary use' such as a beer bottle. Widely flouted, but when you consider the breach of the flag code by using it in the first place, it is in fact correct to not use the original flag at all.

  • nice one, shows well where over-regulation leads to:D and now it even shows the current and coming state of government! priceless!!:D

  • commies

  • Did you misspell America "Amerika" on purpose? If so what meaning does this hold?

  • In the 1980's there was a sitcom with that title that depicted a country changed by nuclear attack (kind of like the current show Jericho). I have seen it being used frequently since from persons who believe our government is too socialist (communism-lite).

  • Come bury the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.

    -Joel 3:13 =)

  • I agree with bigdstocktrader. . . it's better now. . . and I agree that the Gadsden flag is perfect for a seceded NH

  • Oh my God, Ridley has finally lost it... Well, it was good while it lasted anyway.

  • should have made it a union jack

  • @zppz Should've made it an upside down US flag to show how much distress the country is in.

  • lol, government

  • The flag in the picture is not U.S. flag and does not fall under the 'U.S. Flag Code'. Essentially the brewer has created a new flag which does not fall under Washingtons jurisdiction.

  • hi, even if the flag were a US flag, it doesnt fall under Washington jurisdiction. There are no laws governing the flag for civilians. The law is an advisory on how the flag should be handled, not mandatory. of course if you go against one of these rules, you run the risk of some "patriot" beating the shit out of you for disgracing the temple....

  • I like the new "defaced" flag. It more accurately represents what Amerika has become than the original one did. Personally, I would like NH to secede from the union and adapt the old "Don't tread on me" flag.

  • Let the man make his beer in peace! I want a freedom beer with a big print of a pole with NO flag and a crumbling empty state house. Oh and tits I would like tits on my beer. FUCK the GOV!

  • I didn't know government held a trademark on the US flag. I thought it was a generic symbol anyone could use for adverts.

I think the bureaucrats are lying because anyone can print a flag, even China prints them and sells them hand over fist. Or were the Chinese given copyright over the US flag... now that I think about it, I wouldn't doubt it, considering how everything is for sale today. And they sure wouldn't want national symbols sold to China to be used by a real American.

  • You mean to tell me, with all the problems this country is facing today, and they are worried over a depiction of a flag, which clearly, in its black and white nature, bears little resemblance to the American Flag.

What a bunch of bureaucratic douche bags.

    J.

  • Section 8i of the Flag Code reads;

"The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever."

    and

"It should not be ... printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard."

  • but thats not a law, rather a suggestion. When we start taking the flag too seriously, we are already in trouble. Its not a religious artifact, its a piece of cloth.

  • Excelent point, thescreamingid. Well taken.

  • so... how's the beer taste?

  • Wow. The nanny state never ceases to amaze me. They want to control even the smallest of details.

  • I thought that was the new American flag.

  • It is. Republicans have now nationalized the American banking, insurance and auto industries. And we thought GWB was a lame duck President...

  • Setting up Obama to nationalize oil, coal and gas, and who knows what else, in the name of fighting "climate change".

  • lol @ flag. So true.
