  • Always a favorite of mine. I remember them from the mid-late 1960s.

  • Seems weird now to see all those white people in front of St Kevin's school. Long time ago.

  • My Dad! Anthony Bernard Cagnina Jr. He is awsome.. Sadly he passed away April 19th, 2011....His music was his passion and being in the bugle and drum corp was one of the many memories of him. He was a greatly loved man... Love you Daddy!!

  • Thats not the music of '61. They played Exodus Off the Line. Sounds like 1960.

  • Great, GREAT Video, Odd they stayed at The Cavalier Motel, and the Cavaliers are in this video, Cavies won that year going Undefeted. Thanks for the memories

  • Damn YT for disabling downloading now - this video should be in every real fans vault for posterity. 61 was one of the greatest years ever for juniors - the AL Nats record is a classic!

Great job and THANKS for posting this!

  • This was a lot of Fun! Brings back memories of what drum corp used to be ! A valve and a slide away from glory ! Try the 1967 DVD put out by DCI : VFW , World Open and American Legion ! Boston was Nat'l Champs that year ! DFK

  • As a FMM of the Chicago Cavaliers this is sooo great. Kevins was my favorite corps. We (the guys) wore out our drum corps records back then . They were so great !!!!

  • Does anyone have any film or video of the Hawthorne Muchachos 1972-1977? Please contact me. Always looking for Muchachos!! John

  • great footage!!! One of my fave corps from that period. The audio is from the 1964 Dream show. Incrediable hornline. thanks!!

  • Any video's from The Boston Crusaders? I would love to see them.

  • So many memories. Just loved it! Those were the good old days.

  • Wow, that music really brings back memories. I was with Charlestown at the time, Wally's sister was in our Color Guard and she used to do the march, opening salute and about face better than Wally could. Look up my old videos of 'Majestic Knights.'

  • Wow, this was so cool. Can you imagine anyone sitting around a pool in Miami now days in long pants, shoes and socks!! What a difference 46 years makes. I got involved in drum corp (watching)in the very early 70's. Wow, so cool.

  • This is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!! I always wanted to see St. Kevin's Emerald Knights especially when they rocked South Street Rampart Parade and The Sea Hawk. This is when you just had a slide to change notes on your bugle. You had to have skills back then. This should be shown in movie theaters: THE REAL HISTORY OF THE GOLDEN AGE OF DRUM CORPS. Neighborhood kids from the same region and state. Most excellent film footage that tells it all.Kudos to whoever film this. St. Kevin's kicked ass!!!

  • I should have listened to the whole clip before I posted. I see that Argonne Rebels, Blue Stars, and even Anaheim Kingsmen I think, borrowed or copied this corps music. My drum corps experience began in 1970 so I can appreciate the historical significance of St. Kevins much more now. Thanks for posting this.

  • Wow, thanks for the history lesson. I now know where the Bridgemen got the fanfare to the beginning of their show in 1977.
