My first ever shiny, rattata (except for gyrados) was on leafgreen when I decided to restart one night but sadly I had JUST started over and had not been able to get pokeballs yet. I'm trying to get a shiny regice, so instead of soft reseting im running away from it then coming back into its lair. Are my chances of getting it shiny really almost 0% because I got a shiny spheal on my other emerald verson

@NintendoPalkia your chances are a little altered, but you still have a chance to get a shiny. If you are doing the run away method then that is perfect for getting a shiny legend in emerald, but if you are SRing, you have no chance.

Welp, sticking true to my word, I've decided to focus on SRing for a shiny Cresselia. I was oringally SRIng for shiny Palkia on both my Platinum and Pearl games, but I wasn't really "feeling" it, ya know?

I've done 20 SRs so far. A low amount, but hey, that's what you get when you go for a runner. I'll periodically switch off between Cresselia and Mesprit. Oh, yeah, and while I SR for Mesprit, I'll be random encountering for a shiny on my Ruby version.

If you use static and follow the basic chain rules, you can succeed at chaining.

And chains go silent because you out run the pathes.

I have so many shiny hunts going on right now, it hardly makes any sense.

But the two I'm focusing on most are shiny Giratina-O in Platinum and shiny Riolu in Diamond. I'm nearing 2500 SRs for Giratina; I started two and a half days ago. As you can tell, I've been SRing like crazy.

As for Riolu, I've hatched 554 eggs. I'm using the Masuda Method, so I hope it shines soon. I'm beginning to question if the two pokemon I'm using are truly international.
