how the shit could billy fartgan and jimmy yank my chaimberlain say that james n d,arcy had no tallent? james is a member of apc who is a lot more successful than the billy whoregan show that they decided to call sp. eff those ego scrotum chafe douche bags
@mikemotonsils Without those ´eff those ego scrotum chafe douche bags´, no one would have ever heard of Iha and Wretzky. Corgan is a fantastic songwriter and he led The Smashing Pumpkins to their greatest accomplishments. And Jimmy Chamberlain is one of the best drummes ever, so hands off of him.
I like this song because it reminds me of that brief moment in the '90s when James said "screw you Corgan! I'm tired of being sad all the time! I'm gonna be happy dammit!"
James iha has make a mistake not to unite with smashing pumpkins when he had a chance. I think he sucks as a songwriter and without Corgan making all song for SP he is nothing.
I liked The Smashing Pumpkin Zeitgeist, I loved American Gothic, I loved the If All Goes Wrong DVD, I loved The 20th Anniversary Songs, and Albums, I hated Teargarden By Kaleidescope Volume 1 Songs For A Sailor, and I loved Teargarden By Kaleidescope Volume 2 The Solstice Bare. I liked James Iha's Let It Come Down, and I'm hoping he makes another solo album, because I love Folk Rock.
@JonnoThomas not saying much... after all, had the likes of robert plant made child with yoko she could have poisoned the voice of that child as well.
Well, I won't be buying this album, But I sure as hell still went out to get the Zeitgeist. This sounds OK, but a bit of a wet fart compaired to the pumpkins (Inc. what they are kicking out now!)...sorry.
he's a perfectly talented guitarist. this summery pop rock is just the kind of thing that he actually likes to make as opposed to being told what to do in the pumpkins
I thought this would suck! I have to say I'm presently surprised by the soft REM like sound. I was thinking he would be all sad and Gothic. It is true, Bill Corgan did help him with this album. I love Iha and all of the pumpkins old and new. Gish, to Tear Garden.
better than thefutureembrace haha, however I've heard billy helped james with this album. Im not sure how much though, James is releasing his second solo album soon so that will be exciting.
why would you ever say James isn't as talented as Billy ??
James is just as good a lyracist as Billy, James is a better guitarist than Billy too.. might not be as strong a voice, but he has just as much emotion in it.
And evidently, James' solo music didn't need electronic sounds to make a song..as opposed to Billy's (The Future Embrace).
when people say james is not a great musican its crazy. he had to play geek usa and silverfuck at crazy tempos as well as quirky little fills when he was in the Pumpkins. And now look at SP, they're a joke.
Hmm... I guess I like slightly upbeat Iha to slow and God-putting-love-in-your-heart Melon Collie Iha. Still corny as a firkin' cornfield though... IHA!!!!!
I believe that Billy should give up on the smashing pumpkins now because it was one thing to lose one of your co-founders in James Iha, who helped with the lyrics a lot, but when your original drummer, Jimmy Chamberlain leaves, that signals the white flag, I mean i appreciate what Billy and James have done, but Billy needs to call it quits on the Pumpkins, im really sorry, but it doesn't feel like the SP i came to love and im 18 BTW. TBH with James the Hanson thing sorta irritates me.
@dailybrother I was in agreement, until I heard the new Pumpkins material. It's gone in a psychedelic direction which sounds very cool, and Chamberlins punchy, snappy drum sound would be out of place with the material.
I think Chamberlin will be back with the Pumpkins again this decade. It's bound to happen. Let this new record/project run it's course.
my fav song since 1998..he's from smahshing pumpkin..James Iha (born March 6, 1968, in Elk Grove, IL) he was the group's(smashing pumpkin) main songwriter and he is damn hot!!
but you gotta admit that he helped Billy a lot with bringing us some of our favorite songs like Mayonaise, Soma, I am one, farewell and goodnight and he seems like a person who would be easier to get along with than Billy despite all his greatness.
well maybe not taylor hanson. but the guy from cheap trick, the drummer and Adam Schlesinger who has worked with James at Scratchie records are successful though.
Would anyone know the name of the last song (played during the credits) of The Tesseract? James is listed under "Music" in the credits, so I figure it may be one of his songs. Thank you!
He's said to be doing a 2nd solo album by this year... and he's with A Perfect Circle currently. And Rumours has it he will be collaborating with Marilyn Manson and the band's next new album by this year. Other then that... His last project was a theme song for a Japanese movie...
