Suspended for breaking the law... how awful! If he used copyrighted material without permission, then tough luck; don't break the law! If he had been suspended for something he said, even thought I'm an atheist, I'd defend him to the hilt, even if I do think he is deluded and misguided. I believe in FREE SPEECH, but not breaking the law.

OK, but he is 16 and hopefully this was an honest mistake! Im an atheist also, and would support his free speech, but I also support the fact that he is obviously a child that should not be held to complex copy write laws in the same way that adults should be.
