I find all these TOP 10 lists ridiculous - you simply cannot compare a modern APC with a World War Two halftrack! On top of that, it always seems that the top 3 on these discovery lists are always US designs.

@RodinaZovet Sure you can. Some of these WW2 APCs are still in use. Look at things for what they are; a WW2 half-track is made of the same 1/2" thin steel as a Stryker truck. Both are flawed.

REALITY: WW1 when tanks were created. Most did not have turrets. Some were even light (under 20 tons). Swinton/Churchill et al created the "tank" and its their definition that is true.

I say a better tank can be made, tho Some things are classified as inhumane, and the tactics would be rather fearful lol. Nitro boosters, front cow/spike railing, Gatling guns(classified as inhumane but its bullshit, It just rips though ammo quickly) Also a duel howitzer would be wise on the turret, or else a 50-55 Howitzer on the sides and center, 2 125 howiz cannons.

FALSE. The BMP-3's ICING armament can be applied to a M113 Gavin; FNSS has already done it. Don't confuse ICING with CAKE.

A brilliant vehicle still. With the CIS 40/50 cupola weapon system which basically add a 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher with the 50 cal combined, the Ultra is sweet !! Capable of laying down suppressive fire and turn infantry baddies inside out.

The alternate variant is the 25mm cannon variant which has some use against light vehicles but 40/50 are by far more popular.

The King Tiger only served a few years at best in WW2; the M113 Gavin has been kicking ass in combat from 1960 to the present (2008) ie 48 years! However, your King Tiger as a HEAVY tank would be on a different list than the LIGHT to medium tank/APC list the Gavin is on.

actually the whole show was on APC/AFV's not tanks. Though one of the best tanks ever was the Panzer IV. Starting in 1936, entering service in 1939, used in every front of WW2 europe. used by syria as late as 1967. Probably one of the best built german tanks with over 8000 built

i disagree with a few vehicle placements on their, some may score because of their service and production rate but this program is forgetting some of the vehicles of other nations such as the german puma, 1. ranked APC in the world, all the chinese/soviet/japanese/korean­/any other country that stole soviet tank designs. and the m2 bradley does not compete well with other infantry carriers.

The Puma is too heavy to traverse through closed terrain and is not easily air-transportable. Lumping all APCs/IFVs together is a simplistic broad brush that fails to comprehend that we need light, medium and heavy tanks for all types of earth terrains and 2D/3D maneuver forms.

Highly mobile army vechicles such as Humvees and Strykers are only good for special operations: quick assault and quick retreat; never on recon, escort and patrol, much on mopping-up operation. Certainly, they will be a constant casualty to variety of portable ATM weapons. The people behind the project must be dreaming. It is better to upgrade the old APCs such as M113 Gavin with new armor (reactive, passive, etc.) and electronic ATM-evasion system. Do the same also to M1A1 Abrams.
