dear three x factor fans whom put dislike, please stay on your own kiddie channels, your out of your depth listening to natural voices, you wont understand..sit back, have a swig on your alcopop and leave the real sounds to the adults..bye bye ...thanks for posting Adam, motown forever
i saw the four tops, temptations, three degrees and the drifters last night and they were amazing :D i think i was the youngest there tho being just 13 lol
the reason Levi wasnt "promoted" was his own choice, the tops were like brothers and he didnt want Levi stubbs and the three tops he was a honourable friend and didnt need promoting anyway, hes the best vocalist ever, thanks
RIP Levi, it has been almost a year since your passing.
I just don't think that he EVER got the credit he deserved. And in my opinion, the Four Tops were as good or even BETTER than the Temptations. (These are strong words,). But they had so many hits for so long.
You are correct! Levi was a gentleman and got the short end of the stick. They didn't promote his career, give him songs that could have been a better hit with his voice. I still love this man's voice. RIP Levi - sing with the angels.
I was born in '83 so I didn't grow up when this stuff was real popular, but I wish music was still like this. Today's stuff is just pure crap about murder and sex.
The time has como for us no to let the four tops go in vain, there has to be a serios movie about the four tops> Denzel washinton can play levi whe he got older...
As a life long Motown fan I am so amazed I can see these live performances on You Tube! Thanx poster! I have seen the Four Tops, Supremes, Martha Reeves, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross in concert - all excellent live performers! RIP Levi join Marvin and the rest to form a real Heavenly choir!
I dont know your age or who who u are, but your comment was clear . Im a life long fan of motown nothing will ever touch my heart like motown. god bless you.Thank you. You Yube for the motown Greats.
Just a month ago I was telling an acquaintance how I fall in love with voices rather than appearances--and that one of the voices at the top of my list belongs to Levi Stubbs. My sister and I wore out two copies of their first record. His cover of "Walk Away Rene," and his "voice magic" on "Bernadette" will haunt me (in the good way) for the rest of my life. My condolences to his wife and family. May Levi, with our love and appreciation, rest in peace, and may God have mercy on his sou.
I wonder how many people know that Levi Stubbs was Jackie Wilson's cousin. What a talented family. Joe Stubbs (of "100 Proof Aged in Soul) who preceded Levi in death was also a great singer. What a talented family!
This brings such wonderful memories and so, many grateful thanks for these videos. The Four Tops has been a longtime favorite singing group and has continued to demonstrate excellence in both song and performance throughout the decades.
I'm pretty sure this show had to be recorded between 1999 and 2000. In 97, Lawrence Payton passed away. In 98, they toured as the Four Tops, but with just Duke Obie and Levi, while their musical director sang the harmonies that Lawrence normally covered. In 1999, they recruited Theo. This video looks cool with snowflakes. Makes it look like an instant outdoor concert :)
