@henrindreca : when you volunteer it is using your computer's cpu to render. So, it may slow down, depending on how fast your cpu is (and how complex the animation project is). You may wish to volunteer your computer when you are not using your cpu
@henrindreca | sorry for the late reply! yes, your computer will slow down while volunteering as it uses your cpu/ram for the execution of the Blender Render engine... there is a setting to control how may cores it will use, so if you only want to use 1 of 2, you can. let us know if you need anything else! happy rendering!
What about FB policy, and copyrights? does FB owns our creations and can FB resell them to anyone for ever, just as they do for everything uploaded on FB?
@lollito84 For the FB ownership issues, we created a post in the Discussion section of our FB Wall. To sum it up, FB owns media that is piped through their servers. RenderWeb uses an iFrame to keep our servers separate from Facebook. This allows us to pass "links to media" through the Facebook servers, not the "media" itself.
@lollito84 For the RW ownership issues, we have publicly listed all of our terms and policies on our site (renderweb[dot]org). They can be found in the footer. To date, the only time we have used the Rendered Animations is for the Recap Videos you can see here on our YouTube Channel. We are all about the Blender & RenderWeb Community, and are not looking to exploit any user, animator, or member.
site: Does RenderWeb support Maya, 3DS, Cinema 4D, or LightWave?
RenderWeb is currently compatible with Blender, the popular open-source animation suite. In the near future we hope to integrate commercial renderers into RenderWeb.
@hexygen1 : no you do not need to have blender installed to volunteer. All you need is a web browser that supports java applets (which is most browsers).
i will bring a lot friends to your facebook all the comunity of blender will go with you , and you will became some kind of GOD
