  • im joining the royal irish in a week

  • trust the women to be out of time

  • Thanks RIR! I think it's cool that you snapped in some decent drill too. It wasn't needed, but you really looked good as well!

God bless you all. You're a great unit! And thank you for what you've done!

  • what a welcome for these brave men ! well done folks !

  • They marched all the way back?

  • Sure I'm from Northern Ireland and I support our troops, but here is one question I must ask. How are soldiers heroes? They sign on to join the Army, which is their job, and that hey get paid for. The stay and defend their country or go off to other countries were assistance is needed. And they all get paid for doing this. So how are they heroes? They are simply doing there job.

  • @LordWellington15

Because they have the balls to put their money where their mouths are.

If it were up to guys like you we'd be having this argument in German.

  • @SHM1953 Mate, I have done my time here in Canada with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment. If what you are saying is correct, then wouldnt everybody be a hero? Every job has some level of danger.

  • @LordWellington15 because when they get paid.... do you think they can go and spend it like us civvys do? no they cant. so button it. for a start they are hardly ever at home.

  • @awaker200 Have you ever been in the military? They cant spend there money? What drugs are you on. If they cant spend their money then what would be the point of ever paying them. Go learn what you are on about before you come to me, because frankly, you have no brains.

  • Comment removed

  • @LordWellington15 Sir, they are heroes because they enlist knowing they may never come home, very few jobs that you get paid for come with that possibility. They are willing to fight and defend the freedom we wll enjoy...respect for soldiers that do what I cannot.

  • @tigermly And they have a choice to do so.

  • @LordWellington15 Yes, they have a choice, and if you made that choice, I would consider you a hero!

  • @tigermly Well okay then.

  • Bloody Hell so many police i can barley see the soldiers. Only see a few cops in Scottish or English regimental parades. Is it because of the IRA threat or what?

  • @dog75k Yes, Sinn fein/IRA had been running another of their anti British protests on the same day to try and prevent people from coming out to welcome the troops back home, they failed miserably again.

  • look at 1:00 womans outa step =')

  • WOW TOTAL MIXED RACTON FRM CROWED NOT AFARE PARADE.BY ANY MEANSE DID ANY OF YOU NOTICE ANNIMOSOTY IN THE CROWD OK WELL I DID .

  • 1 word to describe them HEROES

  • These Lads deserve this parade and much more Salute !

  • What is the point of BP vest if you wear it as a uniform?

The enemy should never see that BP vest.

  • 0:58 tut tut!

  • @Konsigliare Women ;) haha

  • my standard copy and paste reply .if it doesnt apply to you ignore .needless to say ur a person hung up on sumtng that never affected u .u prob support uk football teams eat englisgh food shop in english stores and begrudge while u amount to zero in ur life .

  • SUSCRIBE TO ME AND WATCH MY TRIBUTE TO THE ROYAL IRISH

  • The soldier at the rear appears to be the R.S.M. (Regimental Sergeant Major). It's his parade he possibly would have paced the March prior to it being held with his pace stick under his arm. Yes, they do pace a march to measure the distance and time the actual march would take for a particular route. And the one's I have come across in the past can be heard from afar when the yell orders ;D .

  • anyone know who the man is wearing the no.1 dress at the very end?

  • From the other side of the Atlantic,I say"Welcome Home Lads!!".

  • they are going on a homecoming parde in Lisburn on the 21st May!

  • The northern irish are the proudest British. They have suffered the least under our failed governments

  • @jonelilinda try telling that to the men and women and children who protested against this on the day by holding up pictures of dead republicans! Some people in this county cannot understand that.

  • Lindo maravilhoso!!!

  • Fucking hell. Now thats what I call a welcome home. Outstanding support from the locals.

  • The Irish wolfhounds are the mascot of the 69th New York regiment, which was started by Irish immigrants to the U.S. Now the 69th is multi-cultural.

  • The British Army IS and has the BEST trained soldiers in the world. My brother is serving and my uncle has served. They said with such regiments as the Royal Irish, Gurkhas, Paras, Coldstreams etc etc....how can you better that? How can we lose. God bless them all.

    Greetings from South Africa

  • who are the in the front two columns without the cubeens

  • impossible in germany !! the germans are shamed about their armed forces !!

  • @djawad85 there still good fighters they took on most of the world and held out for years think about the numbers it was like 40+ allies to 1 german.

  • @djawad85 ,why?

  • @Bdiddly1 because we are crazy people there is more trouble in germany when a german football star doing suicide but if there die 4 german soldiers in afghanistan.. after one week you read nothing about the soldiers... and if you are in uniform the people spit on you.... in the city and at train stations... its a big shame !! we try to help the people in afghanstan and at home the people say "soldiers are murders" its not easy to be a german soldier in this days...

  • @djawad85 Here is an Italian ex S. Marco Regiment Marine i had the honour to serve with British Troops and i can say the same! none in my country will please who serve the flag the same way. As a liasion officer i've been invited at the homecoming parade of the 45 Commando and well i find a reason more why those fellas serve with proudness. In my shit country just sputs and cowards. I'm sorry to be italian. God bless all the ones who did, do and will do the best in the armed forces.

  • @TastyCake001

Yes there are lads from the Republic of Ireland in the Royal Irish Regiment and in many other Regiments of the British Army. Sadly some brave soldiers from southern Ireland have been lost serving in Afganistan and Iraq with the Royal Irish Regiment and the Irish Guards.

  • More civillians are killed in afghanistan by the taliban. More civillians are killed in iraq through sectarian violence. You need to have a good think before running your mouth off.

  • Brilliant, love to see are lads welcomed home like this!!

  • A proper welcome home, and well deserved too!

  • why were some wearing different color berets? does that mean ranks or something? other then that good job lads welcome home

  • These reason they are wearing different colour berets is that they are different regiments and Corps, Irish Guards, Royal Irish Regiment, etc

  • i think its to show who the officers are

  • @lestat1591 They're wearing different colour berets respective to their regiments and Corps.

  • Glad to see them come home.

    From an Irish Catholic.

  • Gives my heart a lift to see that Ireland still remembers how to welcome and honor their heroes home. It's a lesson the Irish could teach us Yanks. Thank you for your support and for your sacrifice, Erin.

It has to be the best in the United Kingdom i wouldnt think many other citires could turn out nearl 30,000 people on the streets, it was a wonderful day it means so much to the troops

    Well Done Everyone!

  • either way, I would love a homecoming of any unit in Europe with the same sort of songs and public.

fact is it doesnt happen nowhere but in Belfast. I know why and frankly im not cheering, but on the otherhand I wouldnt wish a soldier from any country here in europe to get killed or wounded in a country where your not protecting the lives of the country you serve instend of your friends in your Unit. period.

Never let those bastards win but do remember we will cry but the big jocks wont
