Awesome job, I like your Ric too. I'm trying to learn this song but is it possible to play the whole thing without tapping and using thumb index middle fingerpicking technique? Instead of hammering on the A at 12th fret I am fretting A at 7th fret D string and than plucking the pattern out on the A string starting at the10th fret.
I can do the first two parts, although not nearly as fast as you.
@Jammingrock Yeah I miss my 78 Ric. It was Mapleglow with black pick guard and hardware. I sold it to buy a 73 P bass and I wish I kept both. I also had a late 80s Eight string which I got cheap only to find out the neck was twisted. It played OK without the octave strings but didn't have the bright tone of the 4001 plus it was Mono only. I'm getting the first part of this song down but haven't touched the middle. It's great practice too. I'll send you a video if I ever finish it.

I'd give this one 5 stars if I could... unfortunately there is only a like/dislike button. :/

@Pbassman74 thank you! I really love this bass ... finest fretboard ever.
just tried your technique, the main part is possible.
The middle part is triolic, that could be difficult with picking.
I think tapping is definitely the easiest way.
