Is it possible that Fox acquiesced to her demands that no subtle pokes would be made against "her religion", any circumstances similar to headlines in the news about the "religion", or else she'd quit? Is it possible that the Simpsons didn't lose its flair because of running out of ideas, but was creatively hamstrung by Cartwright being uncooperative and a greedy corporation?
