As Gamaliel said of Christ's own ministry, "if it be of men, it will come to naught, but if it be of God, ye will not be able to overthrow it; lest perhaps ye be found even to fight against God". [Acts 5:39]. In the Anglican Church (which ALSO has apostolic succession) women's ordained ministry has flourished and can be seen as Godly by its fruits. NO Anglican women priests have ever been accused of child abuse! On the contrary - it's holy and Godly.

@MrJayguess I AM NOT THE ONE WHO HAS DECIDED THIS! The authentic interpreter of the revealed Christian faith has: The Pope and the Bishops in communion with him. The Anglican church threw out its Apostolic Succession in the 16th century and no Anglican bishop or ordained minister carries the priesthood of Christ. I have not decided this. The Catholic Church has done so! Need I mention the health of the Anglican communion? The US Episcopal Church is dying and so is the C of E.

@MrJayguess Jay no Catholic believes that the BVM is mediatrix. Perhaps in the sense that she gave to the Lord Jesus His human body. The Church has the commission from the Lord to bind and loose on the earth. Her decisions are ratified in heaven because they are made by the Holy Spirit speaking in and through His Church. You cannot separate the Church from the Holy Spirit as you want to do. Sure there have been bad popes but the integrity of the Catholic Faith has never been compromised by them.

The Catholic people have a right to an authentic Liturgy which is born in the heart of the Church. What I see here is a perversion and an aberration and a mockery of the Church's worship. This is not of God, certainly not of the Holy Spirit and is born out of derision of God and hatred of the Church. These people worship their own pitiful agenda. No spiritual blessing can come from disobediance.

That same Spirit has called thousands of women into ordained ministry in other denominations like the Anglican Church. @MrJayguess I imply nothing. I state unequivacally that only MEN are called to the priesthood by the Holy Spirit. The priesthood of Christ subsists in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Apart from them there are women in leadership positions in other ecclesisastical communities and sects but these do not have the ministerial priesthood of Jesus. Hence no woman is called to the priesthood of the Lord Jesus. I say this with absolute confidence in the teaching authority of the Catholic Church.

There is an entire litany of scriptural references to Christ conferring the powers of the priesthood on his apostles, men, and solid and continual references on the male priesthood in the writings of the Fathers. These women can NOT be ordained priests. It is IMPOSSIBLE. Christ picked male apostles and conferred the priesthood upon them. All the disobedience on earth cannot make a woman a priest. A carrot can not be made the Eucharist. A dog can not receive Baptism. The Roman Catholic Church has declared this sinful, null and void. Sad and pathetic and mortally sinful.

@0276boy Sorry, but this is garbage. Please show me ONE reference in scripture or anywhere which states that Christ conferred the priesthood (as RCs see it) on ANYONE, male OR female. Historical documents confirm that priesthood as RCs understand it was a much later invention of the Church that supperceded both male AND female ordination to the diaconate, after male domination took over. You cannot rewrite history to support misogynistic bigotry!.

And, as for all authority being given to the 'apostles'. this is not limited to the 11 or Paul would never be included, of course. Paul cites the work of Mary, and the leadership of Junia (Romans 16:7). "prominent among the apostles,"

So, by your own argument - all authority was given too HER too.
