Yes your right, Max is now back, but as a charter airline owned by NCA sports in the USA. It's very different to the scheduled all business airline. Also I believe the fleet of 767-200 has been reduced, I read somewhere that Air Italy had acquired 2 of the planes and sprayed them all white!! how bad is that!
Hi there thanks for the comment. Maxjet stopped flying its scheduled services as it filed for bankruptcy on Christmas Eve 07. Mainly due to high fuel costs, increased competition with American having started flights from Stansted. They are back as a charter company now, but not serving STN.
Seems like MaxJet is back in the air, operating as a charter company and now owned by NCA Sports group. The new Max website explains more, meantime I am really greatful for the many kind comments about my vid. Cheers!
I work at STN too and miss seeing Maxjet around.I flew with Maxjet return to Vegas last year and can honestly say that they were the best flights of my life. BTW, if anyone has the recipe for the Hawaiian ribs it would be great! Best food and the best crew that I have ever been cared for by. I hope that you all have managed to find employment elsewhere. I would of gladly flown with you again and had recommended you loads. Such a shame, you will be sorely missed.
I work at Stansted and not seeing Maxjet sitting on stand waiting to go is still a little strange. The lounge is still there halfway through being upgraded when the airline went under.
Such a shame to see it go and on xmas eve too. Goodluck to all Maxjet staff at all airports the airline operated at.
I flew maxjet on serveral occasions in 2006 and I felt that I saw a gap in there marketing strategy.
As an international business man I inputed my ideas in a 4 page e mail to Gary (ex - CEO). Ideas that I felt would boost sales and revenue, attempting to capture more of the LHR market from the majors like AA, BA VS.
Much to my disbelief he did not even response!
I was so disappointed, if only he would have listened!
Impressive video. I surprised that you even got the audio of the clearance for the last landing. Thanks so much. It seems surreal that those days are gone!. I miss the family at MAXjet!
Hi there, thanks very much for your comment. I'm glad you liked the video. I was extremely lucky to be able to get the last bit of landing clearance, I tuned to JFK tower over the net and no word of a lie, it was the first thing on the tape. Really hard to follow the USA controllers as they speak so fast, but got some more ground movements as well.
Impressive video. I was in the cockpit for the last landing. The voice heard at the end is CAPT. Jesse Todd acknowledging the final clearance to land at Kennedy Airport. It seems so surreal that those days are gone. It was a great family!
This is a great video of MaxJet. Thank you for the compilation. In the PLane-hobby collecting world, MaxJet is one of the most good looking liveries that existed and then we heard the bad news. MaxJet will be missed ! Thanks again !
Yeah, I saw on a website the other day that she's at JFK missing an engine. I have to say I never liked the all white livery. But pleased to have got a few decent shots all the same.
Thank you. It's hard to believe that it's the 1 year anniversary of MaxJet's demise on 24th December.
