  • Toms a Pimp

  • TJ is one COOL mother fucker.

  • The Classiest version of Hard to Handle - Tom Jones you've proven that you really are the "god of Coolness" :-)

  • class!

  • this concert is maybe of 2000 or 2001....

  • Oh yes, Tom Jones is THE MAN! Wow!

  • THE KING OF COOL!

    Happy Birthday Sir Tom Jones!

  • DA MAN!

  • Soooo Good! This Man is absolutely fantastic ( Brill)

  • TRIPE otis will be turning in his Grave. struggling to get the words in the music is to quick for the old fart

  • if you can get women to throw their undies at you at his age, you got to be doing something right... Ain't noone can deny that :)

  • tom jone yes : ]

  • Groovy rendition :) Why compare pineapples to kiwis??

Jones is a stage man with unfaltering voice qualities & phrasing, whilst being a victim of his own 'branding'. Of course nothing to do with Otis or the Crowes, this is Jones :)

  • The only thing to possibly rival this is Pat Boone's version of Enter Sandman LMFGDAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheArmoredSaint78 Meaning what?

  • Tom Jones is gangster..I believe every word he said..lol Nice thanks for the upload.

  • Get off the stage fool...Otis is spinning in his grave after that shithouse performance

  • ggblueam !!!For an old man!!!!!! Tom Jones ist der Jüngste 70 Jährige auf der Welt

    und er ist einfach grossartig!!!!!!!

  • Fuck me he sucks...he murders every song he ever sings

  • @janeyl66 turn your hearing aid up you deaf old cunt, he's the man!

  • @janeyl66 You still talk like that aged 43?

  • Tom Jones is the best blue eyed soul singer ever.

  • I dont give a damn what song you give this guy, he can spin it and make it his own and pull it off everytime!

He IS the LAST of "The Great Showmen" from the 20th century...

Hell, he STILL ROCKS 10 years into the 21st !

  • Long live Fossil Energy!!!

    (oh-la-la what a band...)

  • I prefer thousand times more Tom Jones to cover this better than The Black Crowes -and I love them, but Tom has a more powerful voice.

But of course, the original is the best of the best... we miss you so much, Otis!!

  • Dude's got some moves too! Never judge a guy by his suit.

  • Love it! Tom Jones rocks. Bass line, horns and drums are kickin!

  • The band is great! The bass line is awesome, and how often do you get to see a trombone solo!? Sweet.

  • @Prong1978 -- Totally!! Love the bass player, and yeah, a trombone solo? Awright.

  • fat drummer

  • Great video--even for an old man. Tom Jones can do no wrong!

  • Lol 6 thumbs down for saying Tom jones is shit? You must all be Welsh..and tone death.

  • dont you mean tone deaf

  • oh my god this is so legit.... I wish Tom's band was this good at Outside Lands.... the bass player was not nearly black enough... The dude in this vid is layin that shit down so brown.

  • Bam ,THANKS !!

  • His annunciation is accurate to the point of ridiculous. This song needs a little more grit to it; this version is way too clean.

  • I agree, but it's enunciation.

  • Doesn't even come CLOSE to Otis' rendition.

Without his immense band and back up singers TJ's cover ain't much...Otis didn't need no support.

  • @enjoinger Funny you should say that when Otis himself said Jones was the greatest R&B singer he ever heard. Look it up, bra.

  • @wccoope Perhaps but Otis' got waaaaay more soul. And clearly Tom's losing his touch. Not to say Otis wouldn't have.

  • @wccoope but otis was just very polite and warm hearted... he said the same thing about eric burdon and several other people..

  • @pearsnockie I am sure he was a very polite and warm hearted man, but your post suggests or implies that by "just" being polite and warm hearted, Otis was lying to people when he complimented other singers and did not mean it. I am not sure you have the right to speak for a dead man in that fashion. You cannot know what was in the man's heart when he said those things. He may have been telling the truth and meant it. I say let's take that great man at his word.

  • @wccoope yea u are right with that. but then there are 2 things one should consider: 1. there can't be 4 or 5 greatest soul singers in the world, all declared king by mr. otis redding. and 2. the only account which states that otis redding called tom jones the greatest soul singer in the world comes from tom jones... but who cares, i bet they got along with each other greatly..

  • @pearsnockie Wasnt it Ruth Brown who verified that Otis called him greatest white soul singer.. I remember reading so. Wilson said very kind of words about Tom also..

  • @Tsirjones might be, but theres a difference between "greatest white soul singer" and "greatest soul singer". and ruth brown very well just might have quoted tom jones. but it doesnt matter really. to me tom jones aint the greatest soul singer, white or black, not even close. but how would u measure soul? its just a matter of opinion and personal taste.

  • this is the best cover out there even better than reddings

  • Nice try Tommy. Better leave at perfection though.

    Like the women quoir.

  • @pikey2905 Meaning?

  • @MHardingEsq Otis Redding and Chris Robinson made this perfect. Tom JOnes is great but not for this one mate.

    Cheers.

  • @pikey2905 He can do his version at a gig. Not really worth arguing about whose is better. I still don't understand your cryptic first comment. I mean be honest, what on earth does, "Like the women quoir" mean? Nice try anyway.

  • @MHardingEsq Yeah, I said I like the women quoir. What on earth is so hard to understand about that? Take it easy on the comments dude. I seriously think Tom should avoid this version in his gigs. C

  • @pikey2905 Your statement doesn't make any sense and I thought you might be able to offer clarification. It was a fair question about a puzzling comment.

    That's all from me anyway.

    All the best.

  • Redding

  • Saw him in Las Vegas last week for the second time, the guy is amazing at 70! This was a great gig, showed some soulful roots never seen before. LIVE FOREVER TOMMY BOY!

  • NOW THIS IS COOL! That´s rhytm and soul for you! DANG!

  • that very good!!

  • Tom Jones is to be given credit for his embracing new and different styles of pop music over the years! He's a right goddin bloke!

    Check Tom doing Bannana Rama!

  • Damn, TJ and his band killed this!!!

    BRAVO JGD BRAVO!!!

  • Cardiff Castle, wonderful show!

  • Actually, the song was first recorded by Otis Redding, and written I believe by Steve Cropper (someone double check me on that please).

But say what you want, Tom Jones blew the doors off that song. And his band is just CRAZY!!!

  • Did Tom do this 1st or the Crows?

  • "Crowes?"

  • Otis Redding.

  • the Dead did it too in the mid 60s...PigPen on vocals

  • 3Sat! xDDD

    It was so clear..

    Nice music.

  • I saw his concert at Budapest in 2001... Oh my God... he was filled with energy. I saw before Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Michael Jackson and Sting in live too, but TJ's show was my greatest concert experience!

  • that band is bad arse :D

  • Wow, Tom is badass.

  • that band is kickin', but Tom Jones is hilarious...

  • if you like, take a look at the version i just posted!

  • OMG, I just love TJ...........

  • I think Tom Jones has some black in him.

  • I was at this gig and it was A1. TJ has a unique voice. Security were complete assholes tho.

  • it's cool it had the dude of the crowes

  • Super Post ! Hes the Best ......and always a great sounding band he has

  • live at cardiff castle 2001
