  • This is a really good Keith Whitley song.

  • This song reminds me of a very special friend that is dear to me and lives in Kentucky!!!

  • If you polled ever country music singer, not only country, but anything close to country, that had the pleasure of hearing Keith Whitley, 99 out of 100 would say that his voice was and still is the purest and the most range, and all round the best voice , of any one in the world.

  • My sons favorite song. RIP Sept 24,1978-Feb 19,2012. Beautiful

  • No one like him today. Only he and Patsy Cline make me weep just hearing their voice.

  • could listen to this song over and over

  • @slogin3800 my dream is to have a radio station that plays only classic country like this

  • This song by this artist is the essence of country music. It is hard to even recognize what is called "Country Music" today.

  • I'm a 19 year old aspiring country singer/songwriter and I try to base what I play around traditional country like this. Keith is my inspiration. I wish I could have been around when country was country. His songs hit so close to home and the speak to the heart. That's what country is supposed to be. R.I.P. Keith.

  • @Watkinswins92 could you send me a link to my page to some of your songs, i would love to hear them because i appreciate people who still try to keep this country alive :) thank you!

  • he was one of the best

  • Everytime i listen to your music it pains me to hear you fly away.. kentucky bluebird

  • the lyrics, that voice -----

  • I think if I had the chance to let someone who had never heard country music before listen to one song, this would be it.

  • Reminds me of home. South Carolina is south-eastern Hell. I'd love to go back in a heartbeat.

  • this song did have a remake. In the late 90s, Wade Hayes redid it and done a hell of a job at it.It will never be as good as the original, but a very close second.

  • This is my favorite song by him! I love his voice <3

  • Such a great song :-) Keith will always be remebered as a country legend :-)

    May he R.I.P.

    Gone but NEVER forgotten :-)

  • I have been thinking for a few years now that this song needs to be remade and put out on radio. Keith didn't get the chance to make this song the hit that it should have been. I think Kenny Chesney could do a great job with this tune. I'm not the biggest Kenny Chesney fan, but I think his voice would work well with this song. Of course, it can't top Keith's version but it would be nice to hear it on the radio again. What do y'all think?

  • My husband grew up with Keith , what a sad lost he had a great voice super star

  • Keith was the kentucky bluebird and not only us in kentucky but the world grew to love him. It didnt matter what demons he had we all have our own. RIP Keith

  • please sign online petition to have Keith Whitley inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame....put this into search engine.....no country music without his voice....we have got to do this.......

  • Great song!!!

Like these songs to play in the guittar!

He "IS" the best country singer!!!

Cause he's still here for me..

  • I just got out of HOT BLAZEN SHOP, I get back to my room play this song have beer and and let it all go Thanks Mr Whitley

  • Keith was the kentucky blue bird. He may be gone but his voice will never leave us

  • I love this song. it gave me chills <3

  • @ChubbyBeak you r so right

  • I've often wondered if the kentucky bluebird is a metaphor for sobriety. He knew he had a problem, and wanted to get help for it, but every time he tried something stood in the way. One of the top ten male vocalists, hands down, of any era of country music. I miss that voice dearly. RIP Keith, the demons flew away like a Kentucky Bluebird.

  • @raychscene9896 I love this song. This was my life for a long time.

  • A bad boy, but a good man, and one heck of a talented artist.

  • Easily one of his top 3 songs....and that is really saying something with his amazing talent/catalog of songs,

  • ive been waiting for someone to post this for awhile....my favorite Keith Whitley song....just an amazing voice...

  • My favorite Keith Whitley song... He is sorely missed. <3

  • I heard this on the radio, last half while shitting and am glad someone added it!

  • I miss you, Keith....

  • No "possibly" about it. Keith was the greatest singer/songwriter of all time in my opinion!

  • possibly the best artist/songwriter of all time in any genre

  • beauiful song!

  • lord that steel guitar :)

  • To Three04boii i am so very SORRY man for putting that bs on here but i thought i had the right video but i didnt, and cant say how sorry i am for that please forgive me man. And to everybody else that reads that mess please forgive me, i have one thing in mind and that is to keep the intergrity of Keith's music and country as a whole. This guy is a rapper or listens to that shit and he try to say that Keith died from some bull shit. But the video he replied to was i'm over you. AGAIN SORRY.

  • To 403sRealest you son of a bitch u have the nerve to direct some stupid ass comment like that towards me. FYI muthafucker this is country song and video not rap. That is total disrespect for u to even be on this site, when i just checked out your profile, what the hell is plies or that music. FYI he died of a alcohol overdose. But believe this if i was standing by your stupid ass i would give u a taste of what country boys call case xx. I would really have your ass rapping for sure then.

  • This is so freakin' weird. Just as this song came on from my playlist, a Blue Jay was sitting on my roof & Chirping. I was sitting outside on my balcony! :-)

This is such a GR8 song. Keith is so talented! :-)

  • a dear friend passed on 6/23/10 he was a dj at the local bar his name is Brian Cox A.K.A."heavy".This was the last song of the night!I think its only appropriate in his honor.we lost a wonderful man!he will be missed♥♥

  • Love this song!

    Thanks for the upload! :-)

    A Definate 5 Star Tune! :-)

  • Mercy...

  • this song epitmizes what range and purity keith's voice had. damn good song by a damn good singer who i miss a lot. keith u would be disappointed in country right now because it lacks traditional country that u were famous for. jones jackson haggard strait r the only ones u would be proud of. they carry the banner of traditional country now in your absence....keep singing brother......KENTUCKY BLUEBIRD

  • @lno71 goddamn man. right on.

  • this songs brings up the best memories

  • I think he wrote this in reference to his wife Lori Morgan while he was on the road.

  • My God! What has happened to country music in 10... erhm.... 20 years.. where has the time gone?

  • It changed, like everything else good....someone decided one day to go pop and it opened a door, now people today think what country music is, is great....man to actually find a station that just plays the yesterday stuff like Keith Whitley, Clint Black, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, instead of this bullshit one classic song an hour, as our one station here in Pa does....so so sad to see where country has gone.

  • @stvoyager if you have Directv they have XM radio stations on their channels and they have a classic country station channel that plays alot of the good classic country on it...just a suggestion..I don't know if Dish Network has it or not :o)

  • this is the song i want played at my funeral.

  • r u trying ro say it sucks or its good? cause i love it

  • no cause i love this song thank you.

  • long live the Kentucky Bluebird.

  • now this song is class.

  • Keith was a blessing to the world. There will never be another Kentucky Bluebird like Keith. R.I.P.

  • I have this old tape kentucky bluebird in my car and thanks for the auto-reversed function its been playing constantly for years. Call me crazy.

  • Great Singer,Super Great Song !

  • This is so sickening good. Keith was amazing and I miss him so much. God, I love to drink but he loved it more than life. He needed help.......I wish I could have helped him into AA......

  • 20 years couldn't make us forget you. I guess eternity won't either. You are the KING Keith. I miss you.

  • Here, here!

  • He is my cousin :)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! I had just returned from active duty in the US Army when I was driving down the highway and the radio announcer broke in and announced that Keith Whitley had died. I just couldn't believe it! I pulled over and just cried. I am still just as big a Keith fan as always and I just know he must be somewhere beautiful because God needed a beautiful voice in heaven.... God Bless You Keith!

  • can t you just imagine the lineup in Heaven. And Keith leading the way. Fronting the Big Band. It s hard to listen to new country. It s not country. And neither are the artist.

  • its what i call bubble gum country its awful and a disgrace to the industry

  • Greatest singer ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a great song

  • Keith Whitley is the greatest country music singer of all time...He died when I was only a year old but I rely still find comfort in his songs at 21. I hope he finds his way to the country music hall of fame. God bless Keith

  • I LOVE keith so much he is the best but a big sham he had to go so soon! He would be huge if he was still here! RIP : (

  • Yea unfort all the songs from the cd that were singles were major hits in 1991, but the cd for reasons unknown is out of print, and is hard to find, it shows up on ebay sometimes for around 10.00.

  • The CD is up at the PirateBay. I don't like piracy, but if it's the only way I can get an awesome CD like this then....

  • when i here this song i smell funeral flowers strange shit

  • I hear freedom..sorry you don't!

Only the lonesome sound of Keith Whitley...could fly away.

  • your my long distance love

  • How I hate the miles between us..they grow longer each day...

  • such a shame country has claimed yet another genius

  • Thanks for adding this song. This is a hard one to find anywhere!

  • Thanks for the add really good song

  • yea ive searched youtube for this song many times, and i finally said someone has got to add this song, its a great song and i feel everyone should hear it

  • Thank you for putting this on,a song like this doesn't need many pictures when its this good.Keith was the best.I have always said if he had not died Garth Brooks and others may have not had as big of carrers as they did, just my opinon.Again thank you.

  • I agree, and thank you both, jbash & three04boii, for supporting Keith and his music. Three04boii, I'm guessing from your username that you're in WV. In which case, Keith has some awesome fans in WV, you and me. Long live Jackie Keith Whitley!!!
