The amount of "green" technology the Chinese use is tiny for their industrial base. Sure they have a growing solar industry but with their fragile oil and gas supplies it's probably more strategic thinking for the future. If you think their demand for hydrocarbons will diminish think again., they haven't even started buying cars or taking cheap flights. I really don't know how or why you are comparing the Chinese industrial development with Britain over a century ago?
@murrchops Actually, the Chinese are using state-of-the-art green technology that other countries are not using. Surely, the Chinese in this era of industrialization are using more green technology than Britain did during their environmentally disastrous industrial revolution.
