I think the beggining describes Twilight's love of learning and her desire to live up to the Princess' expectations. When the strings come in at 1:01 and the soft Winter Wrap-Up parts start, it portrays Twilights eagerness to fit in with the other ponies of Ponyville, to belong and be accepted. The long soft part starting in 1:30, I can image Twilight writing her letters to Celestia of everything she's learned. The soft At the Gala part shows her being happy, with the Princess and her friends
