He's much more technical and has a very good chin from what we've seen, and if Brock couldn't push Cain around in terms of wrestling, I don't think Carwin would either. That's like a WW fighting a LHW. The division is super thin already (though its getting better), but to be fair in the future they should probably have a Heavyweight maxed at 240 and then a Super Heavyweight 240+ (with no weight cap).

@Socalplyr213 Having the two young, up and coming guys fighting one another for a contender's spot wouldn't be smart from a growth perspective for the UFC. Neither is pitting Ryan Bader against Jon Jones. These are the guys that'll be carrying the torch when the likes of Lesnar, Mir, Carwin, Machida, Shogun, Evans, etc., are gone.
I can't see Cain sitting on the shelf until the fall waiting for Lesner to fight the winner of the Mir/Carwin fight this summer. He's going to have to fight someone in between while the title shit gets sorted out. Why not throw him and Cain together? That could headline a PPV. So once the belt is unified I'd say the winner of the Cain/Cigano fight would be the clear #1 contender and thus the title shot. But I have no argument that Cain should get the shot first.
The only reason I would say no to this fight is that I think Cain deserves a title shot without fighting another fight. As far as the quality of fight though, Cigano/Cain needs to happen at some point.
this guy has possibly the best MMA - integrated boxing I've ever seen; even though he doesn't kick often his stance is loose enough that he can check kicks and counter kick when needed, his leading left hook is not only ridiculously powerful but very accurate, and he has great combinations, I would love to see him fight somebody like cain v to see if he has good takedown defense and how his grappling is, cause even though cain has descent stand up dos santos would reck him if it stayed standing
Dos Santos combines his boxing with MMA pefectly. I've never seen Dos Santos on the ground, apparently he is a brown belt under Nogueira. I'd like to see Dos Santos fight Velasques too. Aleksander or Fedor Emelianenko would be great fights too.
The guy is still young, he's only gonna get better. He's dedicated, hard working...and has natural gifts of talent that really are his biggest strength. I fucking love the new heavyweight division! All of these guys look unstoppable. I suppose since frank mir is out of the equation at this point. It's Lesnar, Cain, Dos Santos, Carwin, Roy Nelson , and Todd Duffee that are in title contention.
It's crazy exciting.

Title contention = Carwin, Dos santos and Velasquez. Nelson will maybe be in the title run mix if he wins another fight, though i doubt it due to the fact that Dana hates him.

No one can be in a title contention in the UFC unless he beats JDS, Cain, Shane, or Brock. I know Nelson's skill level. He is a very strong gatekeeper like Ben Rothwell or Cheick Kongo.
Nelson would get killed by JDs. Even Mike Russow can beat Nelson. Duffee vs Nelson interests me more.

@Socalplyr213 Having the two young, up and coming guys fighting one another for a contender's spot wouldn't be smart from a growth perspective for the UFC. Neither is pitting Ryan Bader against Jon Jones. These are the guys that'll be carrying the torch when the likes of Lesnar, Mir, Carwin, Machida, Shogun, Evans, etc., are gone.

I can't see Cain sitting on the shelf until the fall waiting for Lesner to fight the winner of the Mir/Carwin fight this summer. He's going to have to fight someone in between while the title shit gets sorted out. Why not throw him and Cain together? That could headline a PPV. So once the belt is unified I'd say the winner of the Cain/Cigano fight would be the clear #1 contender and thus the title shot. But I have no argument that Cain should get the shot first.

The only reason I would say no to this fight is that I think Cain deserves a title shot without fighting another fight. As far as the quality of fight though, Cigano/Cain needs to happen at some point.

this guy has possibly the best MMA - integrated boxing I've ever seen; even though he doesn't kick often his stance is loose enough that he can check kicks and counter kick when needed, his leading left hook is not only ridiculously powerful but very accurate, and he has great combinations, I would love to see him fight somebody like cain v to see if he has good takedown defense and how his grappling is, cause even though cain has descent stand up dos santos would reck him if it stayed standing

Dos Santos combines his boxing with MMA pefectly. I've never seen Dos Santos on the ground, apparently he is a brown belt under Nogueira. I'd like to see Dos Santos fight Velasques too. Aleksander or Fedor Emelianenko would be great fights too.

The guy is still young, he's only gonna get better. He's dedicated, hard working...and has natural gifts of talent that really are his biggest strength. Not only that but the camps this guy's onvolved with are some of the best of the best when it comes to striking AND submission fighting...mark my word he will reign the UFC heavyweight division.

I love Prime Cro-cop and am still his fan since I watch him fight in K1 and than when he went to Pride.
I fish his old glory day where he just use his boxing skill to set up LHK = )
A prime Cro-cop would be Santos anyday and Congo as well. He has been fighting for almost 2 decade if you include his amateur boxing, K1 and MMA fight.
I think he should train his ass off and give another LHK KO and than retire.
