@dgolijan@BrotherTree1 dimtrov has never been in trouble with the law while has committed two traffic infractions and threatened queensland police, if found guilty, is going to jail for two years....Tomic is a spoilt brat was even trashtalking Roger B4 their qtr final match...he has no future except in JAIL!
i cant believe what i read in these posts. i have seen him play at a small challenger in 2010, where he acted arrogant and lost to an approximately 35 year old italian in the semi. considering the top 4 players in the world right now, i see no way whatsoever that dimitrov can ever match, let alone exceed them.
@LukeGb yeah, but federer lost his temper at a couple challengers back in the day as well. It took him a while to settle into his game, realize his talent. Same with dimitrov. Hes going to break through soon
Dimitrov's form is similar to Federer, but not as graceful, but he's still only 20. People are comparing him to Federer and he has yet to see the same results that Fed had at his age, but people forget that Federer is greatest tennis player of all time. Those are hard steps to follow.
if he wants to be like fed he gotta let it flow i think he is trying a little to hard sometimes.... but gotta give credit to his one handed backhand i love it
he is 69 at the moment and will get up a few places after his win yesterday he is on a quater final i the BMW Tournament , so if he does well , he will go up for sure.
Wow! I hadn't heard of this guy yet. His movement is so athletic, he flows so easily into every shot! His movement reminds me of Nadal, and I can't wait to see how his groundstrokes develop.
Haven't seen much of him yet but seems very talented. Main downsides could be -& not only because of this video- he doesn't seem to be using his body -legs- in a sustainable way. He relies on A LOT of running & his movement isn't quite as souple and fluent as Federer's & looks like his knees are taking perhaps too many impacts. Injury-prone?
you have all lost your mind. this kid sucks, most people when they're 19 start making a move....milos raonic for example. terrible player is dmitrov...just because you play 1 good match doesnt mean anything
@jasonfrey13 how about moving more than 200 places up the rankings from 360 to 135. I call that a move. His career is developing very well if he keeps this tempo, soon he will be able to make a serious breakthrough. You do realize that it's easier to play a good tournament, when you don't start from qualifications.
And you surely must be stone-blind not to see the talent in this boy!
how can this guy possibly be the next federer? he's ranked 358 in the world and is 19 years old. when federer was that age, he was ranked as high as 18 in the world. and look at michael cheng. he got a grand slam at age 17 but wasn't nearly as great as federer.
what about dimitrov now? is he still playing??? i heard that he's one the promised players, but i've never heard about him anymore........how old is he now'????
i dont think dimitrov will be as good as federer...he has too many injury problems that may trouble him in later life...the lucky thing about being a federer fan is the guy has been relatively injury free for 10 years...and that's certainly helped him dominate tennis for such a long time, as well as (of course) his natural talent..
plus...dimitrov is a bit taller and his movement doesn't look as good as federers...alot, also, is to do with what happens upstairs (i.e. mentally)..
you obviously didn't read what i wrote...i never said federer was "lucky" to have not had any injury problems...i said "the lucky thing about being a federer fan"....next time read what someone writes before criticizing...
How come Dimitrov is X100 better than Tomic, when Tomic lost a 5 set match against Marin Cilic in Australian open 2 round, And they're both ranked the same + Tomic is more famous than Dimitrov.
Really?Sorry to corect you,but Grigor almost beat Nadal and he is the next Federer accorting to many fans and VERY famous as well,Tomic is more famous may be only in Australia ;)
yeh NOW thats case because my comment was so back in the past before cilic was strectched to five sets by tomic. but yes you are right; and dmitrov is struck by injury. tomic is currently better, yes.
@GrigorDimitrovfan In my opinion, Tsonga's match with Djokovic was the best, however the 2ndR with Griso was great as well. The things that i have stated are correct tough, arent they friend?
its clear that he has many federer-esque qualities to his strokes yet its still distinctively his own style. backhand is probably better in my opinion mainly because his backhand actually penetrates through the court whereas federer tends to use a lot more spin.
good shotmaking but his footwork seems at this stage very slow and he seems to slow to bend his knees low. I think at this stage he has potential but the guy won't be a Nadal in terms of development, Dimitrov will take time to be the finished article. I think it is because he's just that little bigger than fed and also coz he hasn't quite developed physically(muscles). I think once he learns to move alot more fluently and gain more muscle, he will look good. But too young to say at the moment.
his form is like federer's, but he doesn't have the same grace in his motion. maybe it is just because he is young and obviously still developing, but until he displays that he can match federer's creativity, court vision, footwork, fitness, and mental toughness, we should hold off on anointing him the next federer. there is a lot more to a champion than form and raw talent. but i hope he does well, he looks very exciting!
i cant say if someone can or will fill roger's shoes ever but this kid is probably one of best talents ive ever seen....he looks like a clone of roger in every shotmaking....
hope he makes it big for himself and doesnt waste it like safin or nalbandian!!
Awesome!!! I love Dimi - he is gonna be a really top player one day, I really think he has a great chance to be world number 1 one day!! Goooo Dimi!!!

I like how Dimitrov thought he won the point before Nadal ran over, but at least he actually reacted and got the point.

tomic's game is more effective not to say that dimitrov is bad
