The thing that bugs me about Stuart Scott is that he acts like he is from the hood just to get attention and he keeps the act up and it jusst is annoying. Also whenever he talks about Michael Vick the first thing he always starts out by saying "Three time pro bowler Michael Vick" like he is trying to force it to people that Vick was a pro bowl quarterback. He just does this because Vick is black.
with a name like gayass03 i can really understand why you made that comment. he's from winston salem. it's not very black but that means it could also be very racist too. either way. the fact that vick is black has 0 to do with him saying 3 time pro bowler. the fact that vick made the pro bowl 3 times makes him say that. don't be such an idiot
Your the idiot. You were probably upabittoolate smoking pot with Michael Vick. Scott supports all the black qbs more than white ones, Vinc Young, Mcnair, Mcnabb, and also only talks highly about black players. WHen speaking about John Henderson and Marcus Stroud of the Jaguars last season on MNF he said they were both "briscuit eating brothers." And I said he "Acts like he is from the hood" not "he is from the hood". Also you totally butchered my name, you make stuart scott look smart.
i don't smoke, drink or even drink coffee moron. what michael vick wants to do is not my business or yours. if he smokes weed, so what, he's still a 3x pro bowler. PERIOD. what's more, you don't read very well at all, nowhere did i say anything about where stuart was from in any respect other than that he may have faced high volume racism. again, don't be such an idiot
more than that though, it's his right to be a fan of whomever he wants to be. vick, young, mcnair & mcnabb are all more entertaining to watch than pocket passers. what would you rather see, elway stay in the pocket or elway run a bootleg? steve young throw a 15 yarder or steve young run an option? what's more fun, seeing tom brady throw into empty coverage or seeing vince young scramble for 60 yards... i can laready predict your answer
Both are exciting plays. However I have always been a fan of conventional offenses, and it is far from conventional or intelligent to rely on scrambling quarterbacks like Young or Vick. I would rather build my team around guys like Manning and Brady. However it is also a good idea to have guys like Roethlisberger or Romo. Guys who can move around in the pocket to buy more time and then make the throws needed. So I guess I would have to say I would rather see Elway and Young throw the ball.
Besides both Elway and Young made the hall of fame for their great passing numbers. Their rushing numbers were good though. They were both better throwing the ball then running with the ball.
steve young got his bell rung & had to retire because he tried to be a pocket passer. remember? until his halfback showed up, elway won his playoff games on foot. remember? fuck conventional, being 'conventional' (trans: predictable) is the LAST thing an offensive coordinator be & expect to keep his job...just ask steve walsh. roethlisberger & tony romo are both mediocre at best.
Young was old though, older you get the more serious concussions are. Elway was a great passer and drove the Broncos on his right arm. His running was ok, but not the key to his game. Having a guy who can throw the ball accurately and effectively allows you to use many different passing formations that you can throw the ball from which can confuse even the most complex defenses. Romo is mediocre but Roethlisberger is awesome, and the reasons Vick was injured often is because he runs.
elway won more than a few playoff games on his feet. trust me, i live in denver. shanahan tries to make every qb run the bootleg. roethlisberger has had 2 decent seasons but don't forget how many picks he threw during those decent seasons. artificial turf is what injured vick. romo is a fucking bum. but nevertheless, none of this detracts from the fact that a mobile qb is more fun to watch. it's not a black thing, it's a fun thing
It is fun at times to watch a mobile quarterback. Guess I just rather would see a great passer because they have longer and more successful careers than scramblers. Roethlisberger had one bad year, 2006, one great year, 2007, and two pretty good years, 2004 and 2005. You have to admit that Roethlisberger has been a better quarterback than Michael Vick ever was.
be honest, would you rather earl campbell run straight ahead or watch barry sanders put the jukes on tacklers? nevertheless, i won't admit anything except that vick is a 3 time pro bowler. but more than that, vick had no receivers & an tiny running back behind him. shit he almost had to scramble every if there's no weak side protection AND no one gets open. i've seen vick throw 70ys passes into a guy's lap so it's not like he can't pass.
I love watching Earl Campbell, he was one of the greatest runners ever. His shere power was awesome and I loved watching him run over defenders like a truck runs down garbage cans. I am also partial to power backs over shifty backs in case you cant tell. All the best runningbacks in history were power backs, Jim Brown, Larry Sconka, John Riggins, Walter Payton, Bronko Nagurski. And without Vick Roddy White became a thousand yard reciever.
perhaps, but admit it, seeing barry sanders shake linebackers out of their cleats is stunning. harrington only passed for about 2200 yds so that basically means that no one else got the ball. but that's cool, you do your homework. since you're obviously on your job, remind me how many games they won when roddy white caught for all those yards.... you see where i'm going with that
Barry was the man, no arguement. Stunning, definately. Harrington was not the starter all year, Redman came on near the end of the year to help White get a lot of yards, but still they lost some close games with White getting lots of yards like against Arizona. Got lots of yards while losing is your point and it is a fair one. White benefited greatly though from having a consistent drop back quarterback who did not look to run much.
to be honest, i think that the sport of football hasn't caught up to vick. it's too slow for him. unless they use a run & shoot & have a mike alstott type behind him, he's going to scramble
You are probably right. He tried to hard to just get by on athleticism. Needed to develop his touch and thinking abilities as a quarterback also. You have to admit though, the media hype was a big reason that he made so many pro bowls.
Stu is horrible....did you hear what he said about imus? i'm def. not a racist, but no one should say the n-word or ho. The fact that he says it can be used affectionately is horrible. also, he thinks that the indiscretions of Pacman Jones, who, paralyzed a friend, lost 81,000 dollars at a strip club, and has been arrested multiple times, are better than the indiscretions of Imus. Ge your head checked too. No one should use those words, and no one should be like pacman
Proper punctuation and the use of quotation marks might serve to illustrate your point a little clearer. You're use of the language isn't horrible, but it's close to it.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. It has no business being on Sportscenter. I mean...are you kidding me?
Stuart Scott is in the same company as Chris Berman. An ESPN personality who tries to make himself larger than the games they are supposed to be covering. People watch Sportcenter for highlights and the entertainment of the games themselves, not to see jackasses like Stuart Scott and Berman try to entertain with lame ass poems and comedy that just plain isn't funny.
