  • GUYS! GUYS! CALM DOWN! Let's be realistic and compromise. Rugby players tend to be slower than Af running backs. On the other hand, even the rugby forwards are a helluva lot more athletic than the Af linemen. So, in the end, it balances out. Rugby players don't have to memorize as many plays, but they have to be able to think on their feet almost constantly. Af hits tend to be harder, but that's because their pads allow them to be fucking suicidal. I'll voice my opinion. Rugby forever.

  • Oh!...And all these "So called" Rugby fans talking Shit! Your all Pathetic and can't even fill half the stadiums, and the fans who show up are Shit!

  • Rugby doesn't have a fraction the strategy and tactics of Af. The matches are Fucking Boring, with no excitement accept tries, and there not always exciting. The players spend most of their time walkin and jogging, or doing Nothing while their teammates wrestle on the ground, grabbing Nuts! Compared to Af players, Shitty rugby players are Slow, Weak, and Small, drunken losers, and would get massacred by Af players. Rugby hits are Garbage! And aren't even half as powerful than Af hits!

  • i hate it when footballer in school and chavs saying rugby is for pussy's and football is for really man .. then soon as we have rugby in p.e they shit themself and run backwards .. yeah i thought you said rugby is for pussy's .:L . does my head in ..rugby is a fucking amazing game 2 take your angry out on people . i played a match yesterday nd dumped one of there player on there head and scored a try :D xoxo

  • There is no way that football is better than rugby. Look for rugby plays nd see if they use strategy or not. Football is nothing compared to the amazing sport that rugby is !!

  • this makes american football look like its for pussies

  • Rugby is awesome . . . but American Football is far more brutal, and has more sensational plays . . . Watch a video on greatest catches in American Football . . . AMAZING!! Both games kick ass and both are tough (probably give the edge to rugby for toughness, but not brutality), but there is no contest when it comes to sensational plays... American Football wins hands down! Now feel free to unleash your unbridled hatred on me, I can take it!

  • @jubjub2112 Lol. Well since you asked....

Any game that generally takes three times longer to finish than what it's initial playing time is sets a whole new difinition of boring.

I jest. I agree, some plays are sensational, absolutly. It's just a pity you get toilet break between every down.

  • @StoneColdAxe Ha! Yes . . . way too many time-outs in American Football . . . we can blame T.V. and advertisers for this! Some time-outs are necessary, due to the brutality of the game . . . otherwise there would certainly be a significant rise in serious injuries and deaths. Being an American, I grew up with American Football (my true love is College Football--I went to UCLA), so the time-outs and etc. that are the downside are hardly noticed by me. Thanks for your reply!

  • Excellent video but it would be cooler without all the illegal tackles...

  • wow huge hits how did u video it

  • whats the name to that song?

  • @HafaTurtll the exies - ugly :-)

  • Id rather die.

  • Any NFL playing would never participate in Rugby.

  • @Etherouge false.

  • real sport...no pads...

  • The last time I checked the fastest man in the world was Jamaican you cocky yank.

  • Real rugby players don't fight on youtube

  • rugby and football are two very different sports, it first must be noted that there would be no rugby without soccer and it is a fact there would be no football without rugby. rugby athletes and football athletes are different in many ways because of the demands of their sports. the last point i would like to make is most of these hits are illegal hits

  • If you think these hits are good, have a look at the vids on my channel and watch our own hits in our very own sport! Thank you :)

  • rugby dating are you fkin serious

  • I have got a rugby game tomorrow this has got me in the mood i am going to takle the fuck out of ALL 15 men on the other team fuck yearrrrrr

  • U must have balls to play rugby! not like armed american "football" players. if u can push, punch, run, hit, block u must play rugby, and if u are little boy who scares that his nose may be broken than ur play is "American footbal". From rising Rugby Country Georgia.

  • NFL is soft compared to rugby, doesn't take a genius to work that out, however they are both good games, and plus StonewallJackson26 you don't need "fat" to block 330 lb giants, you need strength! And yet again it doesn't take a genius..

  • nfl players are just fat as fuck. all you need in most nfl positions is hulking mass. thats why you have pads and a helmet. people like ray lewis think theyre hard cuz they throw their combined pads helmet and weight at someone smaller like a wide receiver and kill him. try that in rugby and youll break your own neck.

  • @fumitoshisato Really? Cornerbacks are fat? Running backs are fat? Wide Receivers are fat? Safeties are fat? You idiot.

The players who do have some fat on them are lineman, and they need it because they are trying to block 330 lb defensive lineman from crushing their QB, or they are trying to prevent Linebackers sprinting all out towards their backfield. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Rugby players are slow compared to running backs like Adrian Peterson.

  • @StonewallJackson26

"Rugby players are slow compared to running backs like Adrian Peterson."

Really? Jonah Lomu, Toderai Chavanga, Joe Rokocoko, Bryan Habana... You don't know what the hell you're talking about.

  • Comment removed

  • @StonewallJackson26 First of all, 3.5 seconds for the 40 yard dash? Check your facts.

Secondly, 40s arn't used all that much in rugby training circles anyway. 40s are a somewhat pointless exercise because all it gauges is acceleration, not speed. It's an AF thing, not a rugby thing.

Over 100m, rugby players like Chavhanga,Ohata and Habana clock 10.2. Most outside backs are of similar speed.

Peterson clocked 10.1 and Chris Johnson was 10.4 so yeah, rugby players are just as fast.

  • @StoneColdAxe Are you saying that a rugby player is as fast as Chris Johnson or Jamaal Charles or Barry Sanders? HAHA, that is hilarious. You are completely ignorant.

  • @StonewallJackson26 That's your comeback??? ROTFLMAO!

I just gave you some facts whilst disproving your own genius. I've already stated 3 rugby players off the top of my head who are faster than Johnson. If you want to deny that then go ahead, I couldn't give a rat's ass. But if that's all you've got to say about the matter with no other facts to back it up then I'm not the one who's ignorant.

    Happy Days Muppet:)

  • @StoneColdAxe What am I trying to comeback to? You're simply wrong! You have no idea what you're talking about. Rugby is tough, awesome sport, YES! But NFL running backs and cornerbacks are faster than rugby players. Sorry. Just the way it is.

  • @StonewallJackson26 I love arguing with Americans. It's like trying to teach a chimp how to count on his fingers.

Your argument is that there are no rugby players faster than some NFL players in the likes of Chris Johnson, Barry Sanders and co right?

Sorry mate, get off your high horse and have a look at the outside world. I've just given you the times of 3 rugby players who are faster than Johnson and Sanders alone.

No facts, no argument. Live with it.

  • @StoneColdAxe What are you a Limey, are you Australian? Probably a Limey. Only a Limey portrays such arrogance. I am not your mate for one. If you can't even admit that African Americans are the fastest people on the planet, there is no reason to argue. Do you watch the 100m in the Olympics? Or the hurdles? What demographic is disproportionately represented?

You are a toolshed. And a dick waver too boot. I am not black, so what high horse do I have to get off of? CLOWN

  • Comment removed

  • @StonewallJackson26 fucking idiot haha. the fastest man is jamaican? deluded yank.

  • @idiotik A Jamiacan who is a descendant of a Slave. That's what I meant you asshole.

  • @idiotik It should be noted that by far, the largest percentage of the top ranked sprinters on the planet, are American. It should also be noted that Bolt, like most Carribean track athletes, trained in the US, at American universities. Also, if history holds true, an American should again carry the "fastest man" title within the next 10 years. Just stating facts.

  • @StoneColdAxe Let me make one thing perfectly clear to you, I greatly respect the sport of Rugby, and it's plyrs. I watch quite often and thoroughly enjoy it.

However, AF plyrs are bigger, stronger, faster, and more agile. In saying that, the "one" thing that separates them the most, is "speed". You cannot compare R speed to AF speed. You can only name a few R players in the same realm. Every NCAA & NFL team has plyrs who are as fast or faster than any R plyr in existance.

  • @StoneColdAxe Btw, I only named 1 college player (Griffin), schools such as Oregon have 15-20 players who run 10.5 or better: watch?v=2MdcadvrYRk , NFL teams such as the Oakland Raiders, generally have 5-10 players with world class speed. Fyi, Barry Sanders wasn't known for his "straight line" speed, he was Amazingly quick, and elusive. Also note I didn't mention any retired players like you did. This is called cold, hard reality. Go ahead, check the times I've listed.

  • @StoneColdAxe And Oh Yeah...Live with it!

  • badass headbutt at 1:46 haha

  • Football is a sport for thugs, Rugby is a sport for gentlemen

  • Saying either sport isn't tough would just be dumb. There are legitimate injuries every game in the NFL and I'm sure its the same in Rugby.

  • People say the NFL isn't tough because they wear pads, I say Rugby players are stupid for not. Theres no reason for people to risk such head injuries like that.

And lol at NFL not being able to tackle, all of the tackles in this video are people picking other people up or going up high. Thats hardly a tackle.

  • This is a very good rugby

  • 2:01 probably the best form.. and hit..Alot of them are high hits

  • @MrOhiostateboy alot of em are illegal and cheap but those kind of hits happen too

  • Christ, alot of high tackles here :/

  • i wish the raider could wrap up and tackle like that

  • @musicguy763. That's pretty funny. I went head on with a guy and he cut my eye open. I left him with a fat lump on his head and a concussion. EPIC. Im only 15. Age doesn't matter.

  • @amelika11 shut the fuck up. ur full of shit. ur a fuckin pussy stop tryin to act tough on the internet

  • Rugby is a real man sport! If the NFL could tackle and have a good defense like this, any team would be unstoppable.

  • @amelika11 You forget NFL players are twice the size of rugby players.

  • @StonewallJackson26 not really well idk like rugby players are more fit in every way

  • @deathRaPIst915 CARDIO yes! Long distance cardio. NFL players are short burst athletes. Trust me, NFL players are much larger. Offensive Lineman are like 6'6 370-380lb. And much of that is muscle.

  • @StonewallJackson26 HAHAHA NFL players are humans like every1 else. just cause u play a certain sport doesnt mean your going to be twice as large. Both have prob equal sizes.

  • @ThalorGaming No, no, no, no. Sorry, you're mistaken. NFL players are larger than rugby players. I like Rugby, but you're just wrong.

  • @StonewallJackson26 Just cause u play a different sport doesnt mean you are larger!

  • @StonewallJackson26 Nooo your very wrong

  • @MrOhiostateboy Are you serious? O Lineman are like 6'6 370. Linebackers are like 6'2 260, and they run 4:4's. You have no idea of the kind of beasts in the NFL. NO IDEA.

  • @amelika11 Lets be realistic here, everytime i come to a rugby video i see this. Taking off padding does not warrant you "being a man", with the amount of harsh tackles american football offers. Its only logical to use it, don't be blind sided by such a stupid point in this rugby v american football. Its the only argument they have, in its core rugby is just a tug of war match, theres no strategic depth to it at all.

  • ive done worse i actually broke some ones leg and im only 15

  • @musicguy763 if broken someones wrist by kicking a football at there wrist

  • Guauu si q se hisieron miardaa jaja XD

  • Comment removed

  • 1:03 - oh wow..

  • sad part is that almost all of these tackles are illegal, just careless rugby playing, its ment to played carefully

  • Anybody wanna take the time to explain this game to a curious american, I could explain gridiron to you in return.

  • @theevilm1 sure the rules are actully simple Im american too but heres how you play its a mix of football and soccer. You can only latteral the ball and when you get near the end zone you have to litteraly touch the ball down like jump and make the ball it and wherever it hits you gotta kick a field goal from there so get it close to the middle. You can kick a field goal whenever you feel like it and the team that scored gets the ball back again

  • @theevilm1 There are also scrums and rucks a ruck is where someone gets tackled and the person has to let go of the ball and people fight for it to get to theyre side a scrum is where both teams push each other away to get the ball on they're side. There is no safties just a defensive touchdown which leads to a scrum offensive touchdowns are worth 5 points and a extra point is worth 2 field goals in the field while still in play are worth 3

  • @theevilm1 Penalties:dangerous tackle(you cannot tackle them till they have the ball)kind of like a pass interference you may soccer kick if you choose you can punt it down field and offsides is another penalty

  • Not too mention spear tackles...

  • Most of the tackles are fouls... Straight arm into the neck or face, people in the air... No room for that in the game

  • The exies - ugly

  • can anyone tell me the music name . I like this song plzz

  • That was the best ending

  • if you dont play rugby you wont understand theballs of steel it takes to be fully committed to the game- no other sport depends so much on the mental attitude of players to go out onto the field knowing you are willing to put your body on the line for your teammates - literally is like a f*cking war on a pitch any rugby player will tell you the same you literally cannot hold back. the passion in rugby. cant beat it.

  • @lmoreeen Rugby hits are not even half the force of AF. As far as putting bodies on the line, injuries are more frequent in AF, and often far more severe, and deadly, despite the use of equipment, which is absolutely neccessary. show me "one" instance of Rugby plyrs, on any level, sprinting at absolute 100% speed for more than 20 meters, collide head on with an opponent doing the same. Like this: watch?v=J9qGJK_Ysps . He's called a "wedge buster" or a "gunner" thats his job.

  • @bebomac5 first of all i was talking about football - not whatever you yanks couldnt come a name for - i got one - wear more armour than a f*cking army private jump into someone else then have a little 5 minute break. that just about sums up the game in a nutshell, right? obviously more chances for bigger impact in yankrugby (AF) due to players running from depth meaning more speed but seriously ditch the pussy armour and then you can talk.

  • can you imagine a footballer taking even a fraction of the impact rugby players do in these hits? in this even the amoutn of force in these videos players shrug them off and get straight back up - what goes on in football is simply laughable.

  • 0:30 just imagine if that was football... both players would be rolling around on the floor. footballers fake being hurt - rugby players hide injuries

  • Rugby came out of soccer/futball/football and American football came out of rugby. The difference between rugby and football is that you pass forward in football. Rugby is none stop plays. Soccer comes out as a clean sport in every way. And for people who are fighting on which sport is tougher; try to play rugby and football. They are all unique. And it also comes to personal preference. I have played rugby and football, they are like all tougher. You have to trust your equipments in football a

  • @nolan1495 Dude I live in america too and trust me we DO have a rugby league, 3 that I know of. You just have to look for them instead of watching football every sunday.

  • watch my israel dagg and rene ranger vid

  • OHHHH shiTTTTTT (never saw as much a violent ass game as this one) :3

  • I used to play American football, but then I found out about Rugby. American Football has been non-existent ever since.

  • Dude I think every1 should respect this sport I mean hell im american but dam this sport looks brutal and I sure as hell respect it I think every1 should respect both sports cause both sports require alot of heart and passion

  • what type of potato did you recored this with?

  • @nolan1495 you're a moron

  • Nice vid. Mostly illegal hits though I'm afraid.

  • why i love playing and cant wait for the season to start again

  • WATCH THIS VIDEO....SERIOUSLY WATCH IT

    /watch?v=nxlQNhLos1E

    U WONT BE DISSAPOINTED

  • A couple of nice tackles for sure, but nothing compared to football.

In rugby, most hits are weaker because everyone is running around fatigued. By the time tackles are made, momentum is not as strong.

In football, where individual plays are called - the defense has a chance to breathe and hit 100% the next play instead of dragging players down with gang-tackling.

See: Ray Lewis, Rodney Harrison, John Lynch, Lawrence Taylor, etc.

    Rugby is football's bitch.

  • @QBDogKiller hahaha no equipment man. and you obviously havnt played rugby. i had the chance to play college football and high level rugby. if you get hit hard in rugby it hurts a lot more. but your not like a football player you never go down you finish. your heads bleeding? you fucking tape it

  • @iainneely

    "your heads bleeding?"

That happens once every 10 rugby games. Get some stitches and it's all good.

Look up Jack Tatum and watch the hit where he PARALYZED Darryl Stingley.

A few stitches won't fix a broken spine.

"i had the chance to play college football and high level rugby."

So you're comparing college football (not professional, there's some really bad college teams) to high level rugby (high level = professional)???

    Watch some NFL football.

  • @iainneely What kind of an incredible Idiot are you? What, did you just decide that you would simply spout some made up info, and hope no one would know or check true facts? Are you a child? Seriously? 10-20 people die playing AF every year, 13 in 2011. Btw, if your stat about Rugby deaths is true, it's even fewer than I thought, and nowhere near AF.

"2 paralyzed players in AF"? Here are 3 off the top of my head: watch?v=a0vKO-sHZTY , watch?v=t3Xk-QHltY4 , watch?v=0oz8zjs6j3M .

  • @bebomac5 hahaha read up on the PROFESSIONAL statistics dumbass. thats rugby at the professional level not fucking 10 year olds playing 7's

  • @iainneely Just as an illustration of how F***ing! stupid you are, 3-6 deaths per year are attributed to minor "state and city pro and semi pro leagues".

  • @bebomac5 08/20/2005 - Thomas Herrion, a San Francisco 49ers offensive guard collapsed after an exhibition game and died.

04/10/2005 - Al Lucas died from a presumed spinal cord injury sustained while trying to make a tackle for the Los Angeles Avengers (an Arena League Football team).

07/19/2003 - Julian Yearwood of the Bakersfield Blitz (an arenafootball2 (AF2) team) collapsed in the team bench and died.

  • @bebomac5 07/30/2001 - Korey Stringer of the Minnesota Vikings collapsed of heat exhaustion following practice and he died at the hospital 15 hours later.07/22/1979 - J.V. Cain a tight end of the St. Louis Cardinals, died of a heart attack during training camp.10/24/1971 - Chuck Hughes, Detroit Lions receiver, died of a heart attack during a game.09/08/1963 - Stone Johnson, a Kansas City rookie running back, died 10 days after he broke his neck in an exhibition game against the oiler

  • @bebomac5 10/09/1960 - Howard Glenn, of the New York Titans, injured his neck during a play in the first half and died soon afterward.12/1954 - Dave Sparks of the Washington Redskins died of heart attack three hours after a game.

10/04/1948 - Stan Mauldin of the Chicago Cardinals collapsed in the locker room and died of a heart attack.

  • @iainneely I'm trying to figure out your point. Rugby has only been played professionally for a very short time, yet you're somehow comparing "amatuer R stats to NFL stats only". This may come as a surprise to you, but college FB is as big as the NFL, and despite the fact that pro AF go's back to the early 1900's college ball was the major form of AF until the 1950's. Also, there are 100's of minor pro, and semi pro leagues throughout the US. You also have to include highschool FB

  • @iainneely You cannot separate NFL from College from Highschool, from Youth, catastrophic injuries and deaths occur on all levels. As I said, "your the worst kind of moron!", almost all of the 71 rugby deaths you mentioned, are from amatuer Rugby, yet you seem to be insisting they must be compared to NFL stats only???.. Do you see the logic in your argument?..I don't. You're graspnig at straws here, and failing miserably.

  • @iainneely Btw, you do know that there are fewer than 1700 players in the NFL don't you? Also your list of players is still short of actual totals. Even if you did only ues pro stats, your still ingnoring minor pro and semi pro leagues, which exist in almost every state.

No matter how you look at it, AF has always been a more dangerous sport, on "all" levels., always has been and always will be! It's not even close.

  • @bebomac5 i bet you havent even played rugby in your enitre life and trust me we dont pad up like you amercian football poofs.

  • @iainneely Watch closely. watch?v=9OtKo0wSgKM , watch?v=nxyIFy2HL6o , watch?v=twIHGRpBIMw , watch?v=du_qiQ96ddk , watch?v=f0xJT53SZqQ . there is no comparison.

  • @iainneely Oh yeah...Dumb***!

  • @bebomac5 if you start counting amateur rugby deaths in the last 100 years there has been thousands. read up you dumb ass.

  • @iainneely Ok, I read up. Not one single bit of data to support your claim. "You" said there were 71 deaths "Total" in 110 years, and I found plenty evidence to support that stat, 95%+ were amatuer. Rugby has been a pro sport for less than 20 years, your claim is utter fabrication. R has no comparison to AF, on any level. Show me "anything" to the contrary. Post just one bit of evidence or facts. For 2011 I could only find 3 R deaths world wide, 2 were in the US, and 1 was female.

  • @bebomac5 Do you play rugby? If not you shouldnt be arguing about it. Same goes to the guy you are arguing with. But just to clarify...pretty much all the "facts" you have said is bullshit. Only been a pro sport for 20 years? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Just stop before you make a bigger fool out of yourself. :)

  • @Shetland4Life Btw, I, and anyone else can argue about anything they want, hopefully without being interupted by an annoying, whiny, turd for brains like you!

  • @iainneely You're the worst kind of moron, one who's willing to unleash their ignorance on an unsuspecting public, thus infecting the rest of us with your stupidity. I won't waste my time killing your lunk headed argument, you're not worth the effort.

  • @iainneely Here is a link to a list of 2011's first 12 deaths, Dumba**!

    Link: concussioninc. net/? p=4596

  • I've played organized AF. Before I played had only played with friends (without pads). I'm going to be honest, once you have the pads on, you have a feeling of security and invincibility. Yo're not afraid of getting hit in the face because you have a face mask. On the other hand having that feeling of invincibility allows you not to hesitate when going in for a hit allowing you to hit harder.

  • from the quotes of smokey....DAAAYYYMM!!!!!

  • The fight below is hilarious lol. Two completely different sports, not even comparable.

  • @tomjinthehouse123432 I seriously doubt you have any idea how much training, conditioning, and strength training go's into playing AF, I guarantee it's as much or more than Rugby. AF blocks and tackles look harder, because they are harder, and they involve bigger, stronger, faster, more agile athletes. Your excuses are really lousy and misinformed, try again!

  • nice video

  • II actually started to understand football because I started playing rugby. I know its odd but I t made me look at other sports. My only arguement against AF is that I have to wait twenty seconds for maybe 5 seconds of movement.

  • Rugby is the sport played in heaven

  • For any moron stating "Rugby is tougher because they don't wear pads", the rate of normal injuries such as broken bones, pulls, strains, sprains, tears, etc. are as high or higher in AF. Yet, when it comes to catastrophic injuries such as crippled limbs, paralyzations, massive brain damage, and death, the rate is tremendously higher in AF, despite the use of helmet and pads. If you truly beleive that pads somehow make AF safer than Rugby, please explain how that is possible?

  • @bebomac5

Strains, sprains and tears because rugby players (bar props) are in better shape so are less vulnerable to injuries. Only reason what you said is higher in af is because you're allowed to tackle anywhere, so you could jump straight into someones head and thats fine, in rugby with no pads or armour it would be a bloodbath, it really would. The only reason AF videos tackles look more powerful is because the players are lighter, whereas in rugby you're pummeled to the floor.
