I don't see any contradiction between the two videos. Sounds like he got through & dealt with the shit he was getting & is now ok. It doesn't mean the original was fake. Also, I don't think there's one simple answer to bullying. Paying a tougher guy like you did worked for you. For others an emotional video & the support that generates may be the answer. Plus, he was 13. You're 23 & I'm a lot older still. It's easy to forget how hard it was to deal with the crap we encountered as kids.

Well said. It's a shame that Jonah has done this. The 'pity video', as I will call it is actually a complete rip-off of another original video uploaded months before his. Search 'Meet Jade' to see it. As a company tackling homophobia in Schools and Colleges (see our videos) I have to say that I believe the entire Jonah issue has done far more harm than it did good. Lets hope he learns from this, and that not all young LGBT people get tarred with the same brush because of him.

In my career as an educator, I have seen so many kids bullied by other kids, even made fun of by adults (including teachers, school administrators, parents, and other family members). I have attended the funerals of kids who have committed suicide and the funerals of those who had bullied kids and were mowed down by an automatic weapon when the kid couldn't take it anymore. I think he probably had been bullied in grade school and was afraid he'd also be bullied in high school. The video made him popular at his new high school, so now he posted the video thanking everyone for their support. I think if Jonah is guilty of anything here it's that he didn't post the videos immediately after filming them and didn't leave them up so we can see the dates.
