I got my friend pregnant and she's having our baby circumcised tomorrow against my will . We are both only 90% sure that I'm the father. A man circumcised later in life will be the same as a man circumcised as a child. Sure it's more expensive, but the right to autonomy over one's own body is worth that cost. He is also far less likely to incur the nasty side effects of a botched infant circumcision, as it is easier to perform on an adult.

You can't restore a foreskin 100%. You can restore appearance, some function, and some pleasure but not all. If the frenulum is removed, like it often is, that can't be restored at all. As circumcision has no reason to be performed on infants, it's generally a waste of money to pay for it.

Doctors are only able to work with the knowledge available to them at the time. Two hundred years ago a doctor wasn't considered to be doing harm when they drained a body of blood to cure disease. A man circumcised later in life will be the same as a man circumcised as a child. Sure it's more expensive, but the right to autonomy over one's own body is worth that cost. He is also far less likely to incur the nasty side effects of a botched infant circumcision, as it is easier to perform on an adult.

You can't restore a foreskin 100%. You can restore appearance, some function, and some pleasure but not all. If the frenulum is removed, like it often is, that can't be restored at all. As circumcision has no reason to be performed on infants, it's generally a waste of money to pay for it.

Ed Wallerstein's, Circumcision: An American Health Fallacy, published in 1980 is testimony to a much longer opposition to circumcision than the mid 1990's. America's history of trying to find medical justification for genital mutilation of children has a 140+ year history beginning with using circumcision as punishment for masturbation.

The risks of circumcision were also covered up as well as informing parents that this procedure was performed on infants without any anesthesia, as continues today in a majority of circumcisions. If it was explained to parents that infants are born with 12 oz of blood and losing 1 oz will kill him, would parents order circumcision which has a risk of bleeding
