Why not just buy a green zentai suit from ebay for $30 instead?

@mzrealm Zentai fetish suits are built very tight where you cannot wear clothing underneath. They're also built as one piece with the zipper up the backside which causes a few problems. You can't bend forward with a back zipper, and the one piece fabric is hard to get into as well as see and breath through. Try it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

How do you select the green box the turtle is on as a separate object to apply the rock to? im stump and cant seem to figure out how to do this. such as if was in front of a green screen and had a rectangular box covered in chroma green and then i jumped behind it then in editing how do i select the green to apply a wall to that object without also taking out my back wall that i would want to be something else such as a parking lot

very cool. I do have one question though, could this effect be accomplished in a live action shot, with the puppeteer still wearing the green suit and then just take away the green to make the turtle seemless with the background?

Yes it is possible. You will need a clean background plate and a locked down shot or a motion control rig to make such a thing work.
