no pickup. the sound of that song was recorded directly from the built-in microphone of my camcorder. I extracted the audiotrack, making some effects via logic studio (compression, impulse response reverberation, EQ and exciter)and reinserted it to the video. the titles are made by imovie. you see, I´m working with macs ;-)). the newer songs were recorded with an extern mic, plus logic-effects and then synced with the video.
Sorry but I'm not buying it. OliviaH1H8 captured Andy's drifting with much more rhythm and excersize... Btw you should put (Cover) in your name, because atm this video is copyright. But yea, keep going, I'm sure you'll get better.
i agree, this is probably the best cover of drifting, and also that all laid back is andys easiest song. check out OliviaH181 playing drifting, a real talent for the future, she's only 13.
i recorded this song today with about 10-15 mistakes with the intention to put it on youtube... but when i watch this...i feel so small...but it inspires me to one day be as good as you. And i will. But thanks for the inspiration you are incredible. And this comes from a true musician who hans played many years. Keep doing your stuff.
its true that you can learn drifting pretty fast even as a not that much experienced guitar player (it took me about a week). but as most of the other youtube covers, it sounds often shabby and without feeling. but your cover here is really good :).
awesome .. i'd like to know how you recorded this and what mics you used .. are you using a direct input .. ?
I like your classic black and white video set .. looks nice with the text ..
i have a few cool video's ** hehe ** .. you'd be interested in seeing "wink to gabriela" .. i do a lot of percussions in that song .. its a kinda low quality vid but still good ..
ALSO I have a very popular youtube group
I'm inviting you to join the group & add your vids

Negative. He uses open D. I play the song often. Its actually a relatively simple song. And it sounds great =)

"It took me about 5 months from the beginning. it was a new technique for me though I do fingerpicking (leo kottke etc.) since I was 16."
I learned Drifting in 1-2 days (5-6hours) and I've been playin' guitar 11-12months. Oo
