Homework puts a fuckton of stress on me. When I get home all I want to do is relax and go outside. But I can't fucking do that because of fucking homework. We need to gather a resistance against homework. Who's with me?
I don't think homework os beneficial, and especially not in the very junior cycle of education, but what is mandatory is study. I think it's a valid argument to say study would start mostly in secondary school (or middle/high school) and when that comes up, students aren't used to schoolwork at home. So i guess there is a little bit of benefit from it, but not much.

And you can't deny what I just said to be the truth. I went to boot camp this summer, and I learned a hell of a lot more there than I did in a whole year of school. Why? Because our instructors disciplined us while we were there. They made sure everyone was paying attention, and made sure everyone learned everything they taught. But that never happens in school. The teachers waste time doing stupid shit all day, and force kids to do everything on their own. HOMEWORK = BULLSHIT!!!
Wow. Just ridiculous. If the teachers had any integrity they wouldn't assign homework. But instead they slack off and don't teach in class. I never hear a teacher say "sit up straight" or "stop looking out the window". They don't care. If the teachers taught us as well as they could each class period, we would learn everything we need to know easily. But they don't enforce any rules or good manners, and they don't care if we enjoy our time at home or spend it making a toothpick bridge.

This is because your teachers probably do not communicate with each other to coordinate assignments, and do not themselves practice what they preach...time management!! I would take that to the principal and ask him/her to do something about it, and if nothing changes, you will organize a student protest and write articles in the student newspaper about it.

when i was in 4th grade, i used to have 1-2 hrs a night + we had to do battle of the books work. i hated 4th grade.
