There are many pretenders, but only one Homer ! The vanishing wine glass - he he... As I have said before I miss the old days of air travel. When I used to fly, first class was full of bon vivants and interesting people and characters. Now, it is mostly empty and the airlines have decided that everyone should have their own cocoon and be away from each other.

Hi Homer, nice video showing how the other half live. Now my flying days are over since retirement. Most of my flights have been at the other end of the aircraft, although have enjoyed occasional business class flights to Hong Kong and Jeddah (from LHR) years ago. Back in the 1980s I could enjoy 1st class travel on Saudia for local intercity flights. Very well done videos (although I wouldn't relish having to go to Ethopia nowadays). Thanks.

lufthansa is like the best airline ever because first there economy class is so fun and have entertamint and buissnes class is so fantastic and first class so it is better than singapor airlines

But then: also the Lufthansa flight had its strong points. For me still Emirates Crews are the best in the world. Also Thai was nice, but wines were horrible. Then again, also crews matter, if you look at my videos..some recent flights in Emirates Business Class with some outstanding charmes and smiles made feel

Hi Homer ! I tried I tried BA business class in april from Venice to New York, and I would to say one thing. Lufthansa (and BA) are efficently, clean, professional, etc etc ... but Emirates Airline has something more: it's something about luxury and charme :-)
Always a pleasure to see how you enjoy flying and good service. I would love to see you on board of our Boeing 747 in the new first class. We have one airplane already refurbished (the ABVC) and ten more to come this year. You would be really impressed. Please tell me when you plan a journey on LH 747.

@LeeClaxton Lol..there are many reasons for airline loyalty...and I DO love the concept of e.g. Emirates: and if I have a good direct flight with Lufthansa from Germany, why bother going through one of the London airports..also think of price factors and looyalty programmes..just to name a few reasons why so many people dont show too much variation in their airline choice:)
@LeeClaxton I will have to agree wit homer that airline loyalty is key. For me, that allows me to fly in business class for the price of a coach ticket, or if my company is paying, first class for the price of a business class ticket. The airlines know this, and that is why that have us!

Homer, this is a fantastic video. Just super. I really enjoyed the "vanishing wine glass" comment. You also made some good jokes and funnies in your video, which were fantastic. I think you're talking adds a lot. Sure, the text is fine, but people want to hear you. I was hoping for some deutsche from a real German on a German airline, but perhaps next time. That lamb looked delicious. How was it? Why was first so empty? Nobody had an upgrade instrument? I wish it were like that SFO-MUC on LH!

@homer3152 Homer, I really enjoyed the LH lamb from SFO-MUC. It was not as appetizing as your dish, but it was quite delicious. Like a lamb stew. How does LH first food compare to Emirates food? Of course, the suite in Emirates is so much better, but how about the food and taste of the food on LH compared to Emirates? What about the wine selection? Is LH comparable to Emirates with their wines?
@sfflyer123 Well..long time that I flew EK First. As to Business, I would prefer Emirates food..found it better and richer. Wines in Business have deteriorated with both airlines and a re a constant source complaint for me. First Class wines, which i tried on both of them recently, are of a high standard. In both you might find even 1 or 2 sensational wines, although for the choice on EK is generally more on the creative, specialty side..wines for coinnoseurs.
@homer3152 The biggest wine advantage..also a bit in food..I seee for EK in the Y cabin, where you find really lower standard wines with LH but good middle class wines with EK.
@19bootsy68 Eternal problems with music rights in Germany. Old version could be watched in whole world except here. Now the same again with this video..GRRR. Either I upload a Germany version without music, or I have to choose different music. Even cant find out which sound is problematic.

still waiting for you to do a flight review for Virgin Atlantic or Singapore Airlines, Homer! Your videos are among the best on YT, BUT I must admit I find Lufthansa and Emirates a little boring by now. Please dont take offence, I just wonder why reviewers as good as you dont add a little more variation to their airlines - even cheaper ones!Keep up the good work.

@LeeClaxton Lol..there are many reasons for airline loyalty...and I DO love the concept of e.g. Emirates: and if I have a good direct flight with Lufthansa from Germany, why bother going through one of the London airports..also think of price factors and looyalty programmes..just to name a few reasons why so many people dont show too much variation in their airline choice:)

@LeeClaxton I will have to agree wit homer that airline loyalty is key. For me, that allows me to fly in business class for the price of a coach ticket, or if my company is paying, first class for the price of a business class ticket. The airlines know this, and that is why that have us!

@homer3152 I see. Yes, the nightflights are hard to film. Plus, if you are very sleepy, the last thing you want to do is get out the camera. I hope you have a good trip on Emirates next Monday. Perhaps I will try it one day if I go to Asia. Instead of flying SFO-HKG, I will fly SFO-dubai-HKG!!

Homer, this is a fantastic video. Just super. I really enjoyed the "vanishing wine glass" comment. You also made some good jokes and funnies in your video, which were fantastic. I think you're talking adds a lot. Sure, the text is fine, but people want to hear you. I was hoping for some deutsche from a real German on a German airline, but perhaps next time. That lamb looked delicious. How was it? Why was first so empty? Nobody had an upgrade instrument? I wish it were like that SFO-MUC on LH!

@homer3152 Homer, I really enjoyed the LH lamb from SFO-MUC. It was not as appetizing as your dish, but it was quite delicious. Like a lamb stew. How does LH first food compare to Emirates food? Of course, the suite in Emirates is so much better, but how about the food and taste of the food on LH compared to Emirates? What about the wine selection? Is LH comparable to Emirates with their wines?

@sfflyer123 Well..long time that I flew EK First. As to Business, I would prefer Emirates food..found it better and richer. Wines in Business have deteriorated with both airlines and a re a constant source complaint for me. First Class wines, which i tried on both of them recently, are of a high standard. In both you might find even 1 or 2 sensational wines, although for the choice on EK is generally more on the creative, specialty side..wines for coinnoseurs.

@homer3152 The biggest wine advantage..also a bit in food..I seee for EK in the Y cabin, where you find really lower standard wines with LH but good middle class wines with EK.

@19bootsy68 Eternal problems with music rights in Germany. Old version could be watched in whole world except here. Now the same again with this video..GRRR. Either I upload a Germany version without music, or I have to choose different music. Even cant find out which sound is problematic.

Please Homer can you try Oman Air one day in their business class it looks fantastic...they fly from FRA...i've noticed they have great fares to BKK...forget loyalty Homer i did, it's so liberting ;)

@homer3152 Yes my knowledge in classical music is better than my French and won't get me into trouble or leave me red faced ;) i was really tempted to fly Oman Air but the thing that was putting me off was the flight times out to BKK...plus i wanted to do the trip in one leg hence i went for EVA Air...their business fare was very competitive....Oh...Strike day today in the UK bad news for air travellers :(

But ex Germany they have become sooo expensive..even more expensive than Lufthansa, in partic. on the routes to Africa which I will fly more often from now on. And yes: I enjoyed the flight..and the other 2 parts of the Trilogy:)

Yea! You're back! Wonderful as always.Thanks for sharing the joy. I loved the engine noise at the end. For me there's nothing like the wind down of the turbines and compressors to give ambiance to the end of an epic voyage made simple and mundane by todays technology.
