  • My favorite striking art!

  • Comment removed

  • Would like sanshou to be on british tv.

  • WiggyWarriori.... Cung le.. That's all I got to say

  • Get one of these guys in UFC and you have a new champion.

  • @WiggyWarriorI What is it with you westerners & UFC or MMA? Is that the only thing you know?

  • @GaolisVideoLog Well UFC is one of the largest, if not the largest, MMA company and being an AUSTRALIAN, that's the only martial arts I get on TV out here. That's why I started Shaolin and made a YouTube account. :)

  • This is a great collection of highlights. Nice combination of throws and strikes.

  • Sanshou is legit and can hold up in MMA. Much respect for Sanshou fighters. Other Kung Fu styles are garbage though...

  • In my own opinion, this looks like a more sturdy, yet flexible version of street fighting.

  • been watchin a shitload of san shou videos lately. tournament invite. and i do TaeKwonDo. gotta readjust to the style

  • Wanna go No gi for judo? THIS IS THE PLACE!

  • never seen this before, but i really like the trips and takedowns

  • Apparently black people have a tendency to get kicked in the head while doing Sanshou lol.

  • people who take mma this is a good kung fu style to try out

  • @ShaolinRyan Kung Fu is not a martial art. Its a misinterpreted term the use of which in the west started with a 60s TV show, the actual Chinese MA name is Wushu. If you do Chinese MA then you might want to learn WHAT you are actually practicing.

And Sanshou is not a style, its a combat sport, just like MMA or K1.

  • @Buuub08 in beijing i trained in northren five animal from a buddhist monk small class of 30 people he was my sifu's sifu it was the best 6 mounths of my life learning from a real master

  • nice, nice.....great display of martial arts!

  • it´s like muay thai and judo combine i like it

  • Well, I've never heard of that martial arts before, but it defenetely looks just great, especially when performed by Cung Le. He's just great.

  • sanshou is gangster

  • WOW, thats good stuff. I agree, lots of good technique. I was expecting some odd Jet Li moves and stuff, but this is actually just very well performed high percentage moves. A lot of boxing and wrestling in it, too. I love this stuff, deff wanna see more. I think the gear and the rules make it even more technical...

  • Lot's of good technique there.

  • sick fight

  • 散打 it's realy ferocity

  • There were some very nice techniques in this clip. I like the aggressive mix of striking and throws. I'd like to see someone try to mix up Sanda, Shuai Chiao and Russian Sambo. It seems like all three styles have that common ground of stand up throws and slams.

  • I wonder if this art will ever be used in the UFC

  • @culturaleyes You bet! That is, in a sense it already is, since the techniques shown in this video might as well be from MMA. I base my claim on this video alone - I've never trained San Shou but have trained MMA and boxing for a few months' worth.

  • @metalnetfo That's awesome. I agree it seems like a lot of their punching is like western boxing, and they use a lot of the same basic takedowns as in wrestling. There are a lot of videos on youtube where san shou fighters are dominating muay thai fighters, but I don't know if those are equal matchups, or if it's only because muay thai doesn't specialize in takedowns, or what

  • best stand up martial art.

  • Yes baby!!

  • Awwww yehh

Awesome clip, thanks for this =D

  • El san shou es la habilidad hecha combate.

  • why isn't this an Olympic sport yet!

  • Just to respond to the top comment, I totally agree. any striker can handle multiple opponent better than ground grappler.

But in general against multiple opponents:

    1. Unless you're Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris don't do it.

    2. If for some reason you have to fight multiple opponents: DON'T GO TO THE GROUND

  • @m72ar Yeah, it's like saying that a tin can stops a bullet better than a piece of paper. It's true, but both don't actually stop the bullet.

  • @Five5six - It's possible, it's just really fuckn hard. I try to train with multiple opponents whenever I can... The only way to make it out without being handed a beating is to keep moving and have really really short rounds...

  • @m72ar There's undisputed power in numbers, but just to mention interesting deviations from the general rule: I once managed to control two people on the ground in the corner of a room by (essentially) having one on top of the other and myself on top of both. It was fairly playful though. But even in more serious circumstances, I'd say there must be tactics (both striking and grappling) using which a big strong person can dominate a few significantly weaker opponents.

  • @m72ar If you know what youre doing you can fend off multiple opponents. The problem is though - people mistake SPORT for actual combat.

Grappling has its uses. Whilst you do NOT want to end up on the ground - you are better off knowing what to do if you end up there for some reason.

As for grappling alone vs multiple opponents.. well, youre dead. Grappling in general doesnt even have a theoretical method for that.

  • DEM NGAS GO HRD!... DEYD B GUD MMA FIGHTERS!... STILL DNT TOP PRADAL SEREY O MUAY THAI DOE...

  • 1:48

  • the last knockout was sick

  • so much more entertaning than ufc wish this was on tv in america

  • AMAZING, WHO NEED THAI BOXING WHEN YOU HAVE THIS, AND IT HAS WHAT I SEE GRAPPLING ETC, VERY GOOD STUFF. AND LETHAL!

  • i have the sanshou in my blood!!

  • GSP would BEAST in this!

  • @gunfighterdrummer in terms of takedowns yes. in terms of kickboxing...no

  • @igordz dag, i left that comment 9 months ago, my knowledge of Martial arts has changed, idk why i even put that up there. hehe

  • @gunfighterdrummer haha its all good.

  • I think a Karateka/Hapkido practitioners could do quite well in this-you're allowed to throw in those too.

Why do they wear all that padding though-I understand most of it but why body shields?

  • @ronki23 traditional san shou doesnt use any protection it is full contact no pads no gloves.

  • @ronki23 to keep from breaking ribs

  • @ronki23 In any type of amateur sports competitions, the safety of the athletes is a top concern. For example, protective gear are required to be worn by boxers or taekwondo practitioners in the Olympics. If you look up some profit-oriented sanshou bouts, you'll see that there are no body shields used.

  • nice action!

  • epic leg kick at 01:00

  • this is not the prodigy - firestarter, unless it's some weird dub / remix...

    what is this music please?

  • @seveneihgt how is he a keyboard warrior or a ufc fanboy? he didnt say anything insulting to you - that's just unnecessary.

  • To me it seems like

    Thai takedowns + TKD

  • @gkdrummerboy it's Kung Fu

  • What are the rules for this?? Can you sprawl? I'm guessing throwing an opponent out of the ring area gains points as well????

  • @1:35 Cung Le wannabe Fail.. =D

  • @seveneihgt I think you're right that they're trying to get to him, but they're such fucking pussies that a couple 1-2 combinations are knocking them straight off their feet.

But you're wrong about what grappling fans think a "real fight" is. UFC is two SKILLED people matching technique. A "real fight" tends to be two retards slapping at each other.

Grapplers DO, however, have a massive advantage on the ground. Until you fight a grappler, you'll never believe that tho.

  • And all we get on TV is fucking football...

  • damn, those guys are going at it!!!

  • love it :)

those are really some fast reflex and smooth move

  • brilliant!

  • this is fucking hectic

  • Is It Just me or Did All The blacks Get Knocked Out?

  • @Daminae7x nah it's you

  • um nível e técnicas muito altas !

ai mostra a qualidade e rapidez do san shou

quem disse que Gong fu é moleza ! enfrenta esses cara que eu quero ver

  • um nível e técnicas muito altas !

ai mostra a qualidade e rapidez do san shou

quem disse que Gong fu é moleza ! enfrenta esses cara que eu quero ver

  • @seveneihgt Oh, that's not even the whole video. He slaps two guys in dress shoes on wet pavement while FLAILING on those people and you pretend that it's the panacea to multiple fighters. Pure comedy.

The rest of the video, people are chasing him trying to grab him. That's what I was referring to...

Additionally, since he's a boxer, go to a boxing Gym and ask them to train you to fight against multiple people, and watch the WHOLE GYM laugh at you.

  • @seveneihgt You've obviously never got into a fight or bounced before, they were trying to stop him.

Also, LOL. Congrats, his boxing saved a 20 year old man from 7 skinny 60 year olds!

  • fuck yeaaa this martial arts is the shit. Kicks, punches, throws and foot-sweeps!! Hell yeaaa head-kicks AND big slams that's what a martial arts SHOULD teach.

Is knees aloud in sanshou also? Anyone?

  • @jthetrackr i also pratice san shou, just a beginner. knees are not allowed in san shou. and there are certain body part we cant hit during the competition, just like most of the martial art competition.

  • @kitwuisien im training for muat thai and sanshou at same time as judo fuckin confusing what i am am not allowed to do in each one keep following up throws with holds n getting shouted at but comes natural from the judo lol

  • Thx mate, for uploading this awesome video! and what's the name of the music???

  • @mikandychu The song is called On a Jet Plane by Trooper

  • @knives593 I just found the song ~ really is awesome, thx a lot, so nice of you!

  • love all the judo throws WITHOUT a gi

this would be a brilliant self defence style

kick boxing + wrestling = san shou ??

  • @JKT6 i see it more like tkd kung fu- ish striking

  • mandems r soft, il catch u guys wit my left roundhouse and all your g onna see is start bitch

  • lovely shot at 0:50

  • I don't understand why ppl said that multiple opponent is impossible....

But the truth is even a boxer can defeat multiple opponent let alone some one that can kick, puch, and throws...

Usually only ground grappler who have no idea of stand up against 2 opponent would say something stupid like that...

    Example:watch?v=6iDlzL7zrNU

  • @pangyf25250 Those were not determined attackers. They were mostly trying to stop him, not strike with him or even hurt him. None of those guys were a threat to him to start with.

Again, if you can't beat one opponent, you can't beat multiple opponents.

  • @Five5six whereas is is hard to take down multiple determined attackers, it is certainly not impossible for someone who has at least a basic knowledge of fighting and martial arts, and a decent knowledge of the human body. I myself have found myself fighting 3 guys, of which 2 where planning to really hurt me and one was just dragging behind. when attackers outnumber you they are more confident, which gives you that first second to shatter a sternum, a nose or kick someone in the groin

  • @pangyf25250 almost 100% agree, just some people dont have good condition or skill to beat 1 so multiple is impossible but truly it is possible otherwise theres almost no point in martial arts cus most attacks are likely to be by multiple opponents

  • @pangyf25250 ground grappler starts striking = his views will change via te foder :)

  • my records 15-2 trying to get it higher

  • holy shit wtf is san shou this this so sick im willing to bet if you had this and brizzilin jujitsu your opponent would be fucked 8 out of 10 times

  • pwned 1:48

  • side kick from hell at the end hahaha san shou looks cool

  • great stuff.

  • at l minute, he was robbed. that guy shouldve been flat on his ass....2 inches closer!

  • 1:25 love it

  • No, fights end up on the ground and those who can't ground fight end up crippled for the rest of their lives.

  • @Five5six right on man! thanks for posting this

  • rubbish.

  • No matches out there prove your point, Zhong, while there are hundreds of matches that prove mine.

  • @Five5six maybe in a tournament matches, but what about in an alley where you have to fight 5 people, and then you take it to the ground...well hello! beating

  • If you are in a back alley facing 5 people, you are either blind, a moron or have an ego the size of a mountain. Nothing can save you at that point except being armed and hope that they are all unarmed.

  • @Five5six Are you fucking kidding me? you don't get out much do you? you never been surrounded by a bunch of ppl, tht just means u live in the suburbs. For everyone else, mma is good but i recommend you learn how to fight without the rules. it'll save ur ass. (If i misinterpreted ur comment than sorry and nvm)

  • @kinjk I lived in Detroit and hang around 5 mile. What I am, is smart. Smart enough to find that sort of trouble and smart enough to know that nothing works against multiple determined attackers.

  • @Five5six except running away, which is the best way to defend one self. no disrespect intended, I mean I'd be running away if I had that many attackers, and I do know that that is the smartest way to approach multiple attackers

  • @simebagbarrel That's why I've never had the situation happen, I avoid it before it happens.

  • @Five5six well that's good, keep safe dude..thanks for the vid

  • @Five5six You won't win anything thinking like a loser. Every fight u gotta tell yourself, Ima win this shit. You gotta train hard to beat multiple attackers, but the first thing you need to do for that kinda situation is grow some balls. You can't be afraid to get hit.

  • @kinjk and that sort of macho bullshit is why people get killed, like you would get killed.

  • @kinjk a well trained mma fighter would destroy any street fighter any day its not jst about technique, they're also more accurate, stronger and much more physically fit. training is everything, you're deluded if you think you can take on multiple oponents at once

  • @simebagbarrel yeah u gotta hate pussies that can't fight their own fights....

  • @pptine well I don't hate them really, it's just that If I can finish the fight standing up why should I even bring it to the ground...

  • @Five5six thanks for the vid by the way XD

  • @Five5six anything could happen XD

  • this is absolutely beautiful to watch

  • lol i thought macau is in Honk kong ? lol

  • This music pumps me up.

  • depends on situaton, there was no ground fighting here. can kungfu ground fight? mma has all we just saw

  • @spoz311 in sanshou you can grab and throw, but there is no ground fight.

  • this is a lot kick boxing judo and single legs

  • Not quite, some of the westerners use combined arts such as Muay Thai and Judo to fight in San Shou or MT & Sambo. But San Shou is it's own art, as legit in creation and practice as BJJ.

  • that last one looked like it fricken hurt

  • You can see his mouthpiece flying.

  • the technique is awsome

  • Everyone 'knows' of some fighter who is supposedly better than 'a world champ'. But they never put it on the line in the champs.

Talk is cheap and plentiful... Especially in the ghetto.

  • amen brother.

san shou fighters are some of the best if not the best strickers in the fighting game today.

  • Sanshou is more of the amateur division while sanda is professional. If these fighters keep training they will make excellent sanda fighters

  • what it means higlight ?¿? ,,,i think that this like fullcontact ??i dunno herer called it alta competencia

  • Highlight means the best of the best clips.

  • :O ... thanks

  • Can you make big money from sanshou if you do it professipnally?

  • Comment removed

  • check (Ahmed sanshou) youtube

  • OMG beatiful! So long since I had a free fight with another MA praticioner :'-(

  • wow some nice takedowns

  • thank you very much peace

  • what is the diff between sanshou and sanda?can someone enlighten me...

  • @Gabbomushy

nothing at all, the just changed the name.

Sanshou means Free hand while sanda means free fighting.

the name change came due to the competition making fighters use boxing gloves thus the hands are no longer free ^_^

    hope it helped!

  • Nowdays they are basicly the same. However san shou means free hand and san da means free fighting iirc. Traditionally san da could also be like mma and san shou would be like this.

  • They are the same. Originally, it is called San Shou, but now in China they called it Sanda. In America, it is known mostly as San Shou.

  • sanda means free hand sanshou means free fighting now that it is practised with closed gloves it is san shou free fighting it's the same though. maybe I'm wrong that's what I thought the difference in the name is

  • sanda is mandarin

    sanshou is cantonese

both mean the same thing "scattered hands"

    just dialect difference.

  • i thought it translate to 'loose hands' or 'free style' version of the more traditional kung fu

  • woot woot i'll be competing in the 10th world wushu challenge in one week :D

  • Did you win?

  • naw unfortunately not... was a ridiculously great experience though... and being only 18 years young i've got a lot more worlds ahead of me :D

  • 5 stars

  • Ronaldo!!!!!

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • very good

  • Name of this song?

  • whats going on with this music???

  • each art will have their advantage in their own rule

  • i heard that this art totally owned MT, is that true?

  • Nah, they have Sanda x MT matches all the time and at first the MT guys were killing the Sanda guys all the time.

But these days it's pretty even. It's more who they invite, what the rules are and where it's at.

If it's in Thailand, the Thai's usually win. If it's in China, the Chinese usually win.

  • kinda like homecourt advantage eh, lolz

  • alot of the fighters come from extremely poor backgrounds so they wont b able to go to china or thailand . i kno this is the case with many mt fighters from small villages in thailand

  • lol exactly. But for true martial artists, its not about winning, but learning from the experiance and making yourself better. With that mentality even in defeat you win

  • @a1exgerman What in the world? True martial arts is not about winning? Of course it is. That is the essense of martial arts- survivng a physical confrontation. Where did you get your mind so mixed up?

As last resort- if you are going to fight- you must fight to win... I promise you, in the street, your opponent will not be trying to better himself with the scuffle. He is going to try and kick your skull in.

Don train from any instructor who advises you otherwise

  • whats the name of the song?

  • is correct that the sanda sanshou is a sport version of kung fu? cause i do not see lots of similarities...I practise kung fu and our trainer asked us if we are interested in a sanda competition the next year. thanks bye!

  • Yep, it's the full contact sportive version of Kung Fu.

    taolu=forms and sanda=sparring

  • thanks man

  • thats IT. i'm going to start training in sanshou now.

  • i started training a couple of months ago.. funnily enough it hurts quite a bit sometimes.

  • whats the background music???

  • Look great but music = not good.

  • there's not the same guy...

  • dang the black guy got owned every time :\

    cool vid
