Brings back memories of taking 6-axle sets to do shifting in the USX yard and ALWAYS going on the ground. At night it was like a fireworks show watching the sparks !!
I love 66 and 67Z because the crews are always awesome to me. And I agree with Eric, hearing 67Z with 10,000+ tons working against the engines is really a show in itself. Nice video.
Is it really that rare to catch 66Z at Fairless? I have on my sheet that Fairless is its final destination. I heard this specific 66Z by my house, but didn't bother to head out; there are usually 4 or 5 66Z's by me a week, but I much rather get 67Z because it typically weighs 10,000 tons, and the engines are on their knees to keep it moving up the random hills of the Harrisburg Line. Good find and good sunset.
I know! Although this was backlit, I, for some reason or other, like the shots from here. Normally I dread backlighting but I liked it today. And Thanks Alex! I'm honored to hear that coming from the master of the SouthWest!
Len, this isn't the Morrisville Yard feautured in my other videos. This is more of a series of sidings than an actual yard, and is the dividing point between the Morrisville Line and the US Steel Park in Fairless Hills, PA.
That local didn't show up because it probably doesn't have a set schedule, it only runs when it's needed......and did you purposely write "crash" instead of "dash." lol
Well, it has run every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for a long time. I'll definitely see it this Sunday morning, however. The possibility of having the power all-blue (5290 and 5296) is making me visit for nearly every run. And absolutely! I hate those pieces of GE junk!
Well it seems to have a set schedule.. and definitely not! The whole Staley Corn Syrup plant relies on the local. You won't have any pepsi or coke if this train stopped. I think they might be consolidating, though. Last weekend's train was nearly double the length, but there were no trains Tuesday or yesterday. So maybe they're economizing.

Thanks, Dan! Wait.. I thought this was infrequent?

I thought so too, I think it runs on an "as required" basis, so I'm expecting a 67Z to go out of Morrisville some time soon.

To bad the sun angle was on the wrong side...especially for a black NS train! I still like how you worked in the sun though, looks great.

Oh, so it has a set schedule. I guess it wasn't needed, Are you sure they didn't discontinue it?
