@Gizmorun no way not to everybody dude , i just bought my first bike ever and learned from scratch never droped it, it's a 09' vulcan 500 and i'd never swap it for a sports bike , if you think they handle better and break better is for the simple reason that they're lighter , and if it's hard for someone to handle maybe ridding is not for them because i'm 5'5" and weigh 140LB and i can ride it like a cloud now ,and all i hear is good opinions from people that had owned one
Actually the 500cc is best for beginners. Although many metric bikes are offered in 250 or so they would have to redline to hit 80 mph. Not good on the highway where 55-60 mph is the average. Read Sonny Barger's book "Let's Ride" best guide to motorcylcling ever.
@guitarrebel22 well that was just my opinion because too many people saying that is too big for beginners but i don't think so i learned on it with no problems or accidents what so ever, and i'm not a big guy ,besides if you buy anything smaller you'd have to buy another one once you learn because just like you said they're not safe for freeway ,but this one will outrun a bigger bike it'll keep up with them and handles pretty good at freeway speeds i've had mine way over the limit
@Gizmorun man its a superbike! too much way to much for a begginer really this kawasaki is not the best for a beginer but its best option than ninja sorry
a ninja 250 isnt a super bike,.....its just sports styled... it has superior handling and braking to a cruiser and its more fun. better first bike by far.
@netcitizen1 of course ur capable i am 5'5 and man i can even ride a kawasaki vulcan 900cc custom. soo ofcourse u can handle it but if u are a beginner i recomend u get a yamaha virago 250cc its much light but..... thats ur decicion.
Is this bike heavy? Im a 19 year old, not very built and never had a bike big other than a 125. I will be buying one of these 1990 versions but I need to know if they are heavy or hard to handle.
Not necessarily. My wife rides a 2003 Vulcan 500, but it will out accelerate my 07 750 Shadow. Very comfy bike, as long as your not much over 5'10. Cruises 80 with no problem. We have about 17k miles on ours.
i have that same bike its an awsome bike and shares the same motor as the 500 nininja and will haul ass up to 90 quick and will cruz at 85 no prob great bike
These 8 people who has disliked this is faggots, nerds and those who crashed this baby...

thats about 450lbs - very easy bike to handle, easy to steer, very forgiving for beginers. Fun bike to ride - My #1 choice for a beginers bike.

what about a ninja 250? better steering, more fun for new riders and its got the looks of a bigger bike (if not the size)
