    Kernow kensa!

    Cornwall rests its case....

  • Myghtern Arthur Bewa Arta! Awos Kernowyon: Kernow kensa ha bys vyken.

  • ITS A LIE ABOUT THE ENGLISH AND THE REST OF BRITAIN BEING SAXON OR CELTIC....................80-90% OF US ALL COME FROM THE WESTERN ATLANTIC MIGRATION ROUTE according to DNA studies..............sorry for shouting but the non science based debate drives me nuts !! :D :D...............anyone can become welsh cultured....hell the word "aber" isnt even modern welsh but from first settler older languages hah...this islands history is mental! ;p

  • Ironic that these Cornish independence supporters claim to be of Celtic origin when infact the Celts were immigrants to these shores. So why don't the Celts piss of back to where they came from & give Cornwall back to its rightful owners?

  • @whitbyjet65 I am a genetic historian.............. celtic cultures came in through trading so no significant celts pops......................celt culture is an evolution from basque first settlers...............how can london happily be a state and have a 1700 flag...and the cornish arent??? btw I hate grouping ppl ;).

  • @3tangle3 No one is saying Cornwall can't have its own flag. London doesn't claim to be an independent state. Life & the world evolves. Once Rome was an independent state, once the Iceni tribe lived in what is now called East Anglia, once Neanderthal man lived in Europe but life doesn't remain static (it never has done). If Cornwall claims its right to become independent, where does it end? It's a silly argument put about by a tiny minority of uneducated numpties.

  • @whitbyjet65 you make valid points but then why do you have to end the argument with ridiculous generalisations and insults about people. I am cornish and welsh cultured...........doesnt mean I am uneducated........welsh language schools score higher on english exams on average than first language english.........I can use your arguments against you.......we are all human ..live and let live if these people dont want to be english..english and england is one of these huge constructs you berate

  • @3tangle3 Oh so I have to live & let live but the anti-English brigade have carte-blanche to do & say what they want? Somehow I don't think I'll adhere to that recommendation. It's amazing how (in your words) these people don't want to be English yet they remain here & extract all the benefits that being English bestows upon a person. They're all free to leave if being English doesn't suit them. Why try & force their desires on the majority? The tail trying to wag the dog, I suggest!

  • @whitbyjet65 why are you concerned by the "anti-english" brigade if you are an individual human being with no intrinsic connection to human constructs....its ironic how the anti english brigade attack english people who are by all intents and purposes not genetically "english" whatever that means.........just cultural war sir lol

  • @3tangle3 Oh don't give me the old 'whatever that means' line about being English. That accusation can apply to any nationality. It's such a trite cliche. As you're so obsessed about genetic purity I'd like you to name a nation that has an undiluted bloodline. If not, please don't use the 'whatever English means' unless you're willing to use it on every other nationality. I could quite as easily say 'whatever Celtic means'.

  • 3 people pressed the wrong button!

    Cornwall, amazing place.

  • celts is a romanticised bullshit name which some english cultured laugh at.........get rid f this term and go back to the more accurate terms brythonic and godeilic.....

  • The coast of Kernow is overrun with the english culture....so don;t say the cornish do not live on...cos they do...still suffering from a legacy

  • The Cumbric language was spoken in north of England & southern Scotland until the 16th century. This coincides with modern DNA test that have shown the ancient peoples of this island pre-dated Celtic migration. The original people of the British Isles still represent 90% of Brythonic blood. It is only that the Welsh language survived longer because they could retreat into the mountains. Cornish only outlasted Cumbric by around 100 years. Romantic myth's & legends have distorted true history.

  • @thosePhatCows thats total bullshit...they are mainly descended from pre celtic settlers........sorry mate....genetics degree university of York.......go read some books and come back to me....i can recommend a few good ones

  • @thosePhatCows

Don't think that's true. Recent genetic evidence has shown that the majority of the people of these islands are descended from the original pre-Celtic settlers. The Angles, Saxons,Vikings etc. have had a smaller impact genetically than was first thought.

  • Greetings from Cymru to our friends in Kernow.

  • They will NEVER break the Cornish Spirit!

  • I don't know why there's this talk of "Celtish blood".

Look at the Celtish League website, or read the DNA research on UK/Ireland from Oxford University.

It's a cultural and language thing, not genetic; but Celtishnes is nonetheless important or special for that.

  • your just as bad as the welsh

  • Thanks to Europe, Brittany and Cornwall soon together as they had always been before French and English oppressions.

  • Crows Gwyn Sen Peren clos a dhro

    Dhe'n Baner-Rythsys du manvro

    Ha'n Brythen brof a Gernow !

  • The english as I know them are so bloody annoying. They don't give a ***** about they're own national pride but when we even raise the subject of our nations' heritage they roll their eyes and tell us to shut up about it. They treat us like upstart kids, when we're the older people in this land. Furor Celtica!

  • You are NOT 100% Celt dont pretend you are, i do not.

It has been proven tieme and time again, that you only have SOME celtic genes more than the Angles do, that does nto mean you are "the older people" because chances are there have been mixes.

but by all mean dont give up your national pride, i dont and i really couldnt care less what the English foreigners think.

  • So were not as Celt as we used to be, BUT WERE STILL CORNISH! AND WE ALLWAYS WILL BE!

  • hahahaha the wankers that thumbed me down are stupid all i did was state the facts...

but yes dont listen to the English tossers! You have a culutre and they dont like it.

  • I was brought up in the black country, west midlands and during recent research I have discovered that I have Celtic blood. To my amasement I have found that my great great grandfather used to drink Guinness and therefore feel that we have a claim to Celtic status. I am seeking support from all fellow cornish Celts to partition the government

for independence and freedom from English oppression.

For support please contact w.w.w CultureVulturesAreUs co ./MeWantToWearAKilt

  • WE SILESIANS SUPPORT KRENOW!!!

    free silesia! free kernow! NOW!

  • Cornish people know their own history and know who they are... unlike some.

  • Cornwall and Cornishness

Demographic trends have "obliterated" any real Celtic people so let me ask you for some real facts/references to show a Celtic people exist or are the Cornish people different from the Celtic people?

  • lol love da vid. 5 stars, what this song called btw?

  • got it! PPK resurection

  • **Nutty head-in-sand guy alert**

    Liskeardob. is grasping at straws.

He is one of the few who are ignorant to the state the UK is in and knows nothing about Cornish law, history, current affairs, economy or politics.

His "facts" are based on opinion.

    I suggest listening to this

    /watch?v=EBL5iDmCII4

2 hour BBC debate on Cornish nationalism to find out the real issues facing Cornwall & to judge for yourself rather than letting a ranting, racist nutter like LiskeardObserver vomit all over youtube.

  • Real people see that the UK is falling apart. Centralised government cant cater for every corner of the UK by blanketing it with the same economic sheet and devolved powers to the areas that need it most are whats needed to rescue us from further problems.

Dont consider that all people support nationalism in Cornwall, just most of them as proven over and over again. If you want to help England then go and help them. Theyre in as much need of decentralisation and self governance as we are.

  • lol, I think the English would be upset if we started to make trouble, cause we are a favortie tourist destination.

  • nice video see u bin down poltesco boi kernow onen hag oll

  • Nice idea, I like the transition from the old man to the small boy, be nice to see a 2nd vid, you did not touch on fishing, rugby or farming, but nice that you got Michael Joseph in!

  • Kernow yw konna tyr orth penn Breten Veur. Kernow yw bro geltek na Sowsnek !

Cornwall and the Cornish are not nor ever can be English !

  • @CornishNeverEnglish no wear all british

  • @chuckmcberry what is the origin of the term british.....its from the roman latin name for the brythonic cultures...who did not speak the germanic ancestral languages of english today

Read some history and come back to me

  • @3tangle3

I think the Roman's coined Britanica from a root of a Pictish language.

  • @Britonbear but pictish is believed to be one of the forms of old welsh (brythoniaid ;)...and there would have been different dialects throughout britain due to geographical isolation.......pictish what ever it was may have retained more of the pre celtic settlers language.......one reason why cornish are quite black haired relates to the original pre celtic settlers

  • Seconded from your Manx cousins.

  • That's right, forever over the other side of the river Tamar where England has always been. Check your constitution, Cornwall is officially extra-territorial to England.
