Your taking Paul Washer out of context... Although, your points sounds biblically correct, you have no idea what Paul is saying. therefore unless you were to actually meet Paul and ask him what his view on your criticizes were.. i would not be as bold to post a video like this up... Calling someone a false prophet because they were to say something they understand and others take it another way is risky..I say you watch all of Paul's videos and see the theme and the reasons of hard preaching.
I hate hearing this crap, will you please tell us HOW he is taking Washer out of context?
I see this utterly stupid excuse almost every video I watch of Andrew's. Either SAY what Washer was "REALLY" saying or be quiet. Paul Washer doesn't have any idea what he's talking about. And you shouldn't need to hear a whole hour sermon to debunk a few errors, that is stupid when what Washer said is VERY easy to understand.
Dude what are you saying? it sounds like your saying that if a true believer EVER doubts God they are not saved. Everyone doubts Gods word probably on daily basis.
isnt being anxious about ANYTHING doubting Gods word? because he said dont be anxious. Anytime your making a hard decision or an important one and you dont pray and ask God about it arnt you taking matters into your own hands?
Not everyone doubts God's word, especially NOT on a daily basis. Being anxious is not doubting God at all. And God is always in charge of one's life, whether you pray about it or not. If God doesn't want you to do something, you wont do it, simple as that.
No he's right. God disciplined me and I was FREAKING OUT. 0.0 He took away the one thing in the world he knew would shake me. My ability to run. I ran track and it pays for my college. I got hurt really badly and it baffled me. I had always had an assurance that I was protected. He had done it all my life, I have escaped death 2 or 3 times.
But when I couldn't run and was at risk of losing my scholarship, I did the one thing I could do. RUN to God. He's blessed my so much more now than before.
'remove assurance' does not mean 'deceive'!!!!!!!!! so far from it!!! you're SO twisting his words, how about you listen to the rest of his sermons ? and there is a difference between being saved and knowing youre saved and Paul Washer talks about that in a lot of his sermons. Paul said many times that the work of Jesus is perfect if God saves you, youre saved! Period - its all finished and you can trust it completely. All who believe will be saved, but HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU BELIEVE?!
You have neither enough maturity in Christ nor enough maturity in Christ to discuss such things.
At a time when clearly even spiritual babyfood might cause you to spit-up, you have decided to challenge elders in the faith concerning solid spiritual food.
"sometimes in discipline, God will pull away assurance..."
A man walks through a store with his son. He loves his son very much and has told him to stay by his side and not touch anything.
Sometimes the child stops to play with things he ought not play with... Sometimes the father stops to stay with him and gently tells him to "come along"
Sometimes 3 or 4 times...
But sometimes, "in discipline", the father will pull away so that the son will be distressed upon seeing him walking away.
AndrewcBain, Of all the many SOLID teachers you so poorly try to take apart and demean Dr.White is one of the most accessible people around. Hyper-Calvinism is unscriptural, false doctrine. It tends to flourish in intellectual pride and in neglect of soul winning, and is a symptom of moral guilt. It is Satan's effort to kill concern and compassion for souls.
Please, you taken a verse out of context and use it to blame God for everything the devil does, when Jesus makes a clear distinction.
Funny how the Bible says Pauls thorn was a messenger of the devil and you believe God sent it.
The greater works are obvious and it still makes my point from the beginning that unbelief stopped Jesus. You really havent studied the Bible, you read a couple of pop Christian books and you think you are a theologian.
Rom. 8:28: This is a very powerful verse with a wonderful promise, but it has been greatly abused and misapplied. This verse is not saying that everything that happens to us is from God and is used by Him to accomplish His purposes in our lives. The Bible doesn't teach that.
Second Peter 3:9 makes a clear statement that the Lord is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Yet many men and women are perishing because they have a choice.
So, regarding salvation, God's will is not being done in the lives of many people.
This twenty-eighth verse begins with the word "and." This means that the statement about everything working together for our good is made after Paul had spoken of the Holy Spirit making intercession for us. If we are not cooperating with the Holy Spirit so that He can make intercession for us then everything will not work together for our good.
This verse also says this happens for those "that love God, to them who are the called." That means this doesn't apply to everyone. However, this verse has been used to try to convince even unbelievers that God is controlling the circumstances of their lives. That is not the message of this verse.
Also this verse did not say that everything that comes our way is from God but rather that the Lord can work it together for our good through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Romans 6:16 clearly states that if we yield to the devil, we become his slaves. The false teaching that nothing happens to us but what God wills or allows has caused many people to yield to Satan's bondage instead of resisting him (Jas. 4:7).
People may cite experiences where they learned great lessons through tragedy and argue that these negative experiences are the only way the Lord could have accomplished His will in their lives. Again, that is not what the Bible teaches.
Second Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." Verse 17 says that God's Word will make us perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. That means we don't have to learn through hardships. God's Word is for correction and reproof.
Although not ordained by God for our good, each of us will experience tribulation. Therefore, we can and should learn from trials, but God's Word could have taught us the same thing with less grief. Anyone who submits to his problems because he believes God has brought them to teach him something is making a great mistake. That mistake is allowing the devil to inflict much pain in his life.
Verse 28 is really promising that when we let the Holy Spirit intercede through us with these groanings that cannot be uttered, then we can rest assured that regardless of what the devil brings across our path, God can turn that situation around and work it together for our good.
See how easy the Bible is to understand when you keep it in context?
The Bible is correct but ur understanding about God using Satan is wrong!
You do know that Satan doesn't have access to God today like he did in Jobs day? Apparently you don't.
You still not answered the question what are the "greater works" Jesus wanted to do but couldn't.
And you still haven't figured out Paul wasn't in Pride when God said, grace was available. Or where did Jesus use the devil and he came to show us the will of God and who the father is.
Was God in control of a child molestor who rapes and kills a child?
Why does the Bible tell us to resist the devil and you believe he is sent to do the will of God. Wouldn't we be resisting Gods will when we resist the devil?
Do you not see the confusion ur belief produces. God is not the author of confusion.
God is in control but not the way you see it. He has given his church authority over the devil, we are to resist him, cast him out etc. that is what believers are supposed to do.
We do not live in the Old Testament, things have changed, Job didnt have access to the name of Jesus and he certainly wasnt full of the Holy Spirit. You cannot compare what went on in OT times to a blood bought church that is walking in the light.
You are on dangerous territory when you make claims that whatever Satan does must be because God wants it. The Bible says, he (Satan) has nothing in me and he has no part of God. Like I said, if God needs to accomplish his will he has his own angels.
Btw, for the record who pulled down the hedge of protection around Job, it wasnt God but God knew it had come down. Study that and you will learn a lot.
"How does satan work in your world? Does God react to Satan or is God in total control"
He works the same as he did in the Bible, Jesus said, he comes to steal, kill and destroy! And like Jesus said, he is an enemy to faith and needs to be resisted and dealt with as the Bible commands. The body of Christ has authority over Satan but we need to walk in that authority. Hosea 4 :6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because they have rejected truth.
I meet Christians every day who have never Biblicaly dealt with the devil as the Bible commands; I would suspect you are the same. If you believe the devil takes his orders from God. Sorry there is no evil in Gods heart.
You made erroneous claims that were not founded in scripture at all.
You claimed God sent a "thorn" to Paul because he was proud. The Bible says it came from the devil not God. If Paul was proud, God would resist him yet we see God telling Paul has access to grace, something given to the humble not proud.
If you had studied for yourself you see the obvious contradictions in ur theology. Instead you make insulting comments.
I am a follower of Jesus, he is my Lord and savior, salvation is in him alone and no other. It is pretty obvious you know very little about Gods word and his revealed truth.
I hope and pray you learned something through our discussion.
I have given you scripture and you refuse to believe and hold to theological opinions that oppose the truth of Gods word.
Jesus spoke about people holding on to the traditions of man making the word of God of none effect.
I live an exciting life with God, I see God heal and set people free I get to see people who are demonized delivered in the name of Jesus. I grew up as a Calvinist and so I know where you are coming from and I am blessed that God set me free from that dead religion.
It says, it was a messenger of Satan not of God, Paul has the Holy Spirit and God has his own angels he doesn't need to use demons to do his will. The attack came from Satan to stop him from preaching the gospel. You been blinded by religious tradition, nowhere does it say God sent the thorn, read the book of Acts it is easy to see where and who the attack was coming from.
The point is you said, because God is sovereign he can do whatever he wants. I pointed out he couldn't and proved my point with scripture. Maybe you need to revise ur theology about God being sovereign and keep it Biblical.
Btw, if God uses devils to do his will, please show me where Jesus used them? Remember Jesus was the perfect will of God and revealed his will.
Jesus did cast them out as did his disciples but nowhere Did Jesus send them on missions.
"katybug2000 give me an example from scripture of Jesus not healing people. "
My answer.
ele12957 Jesus wanted to do a mighty work but was hindered by the unbelief of the people. According to ur theological view he can do whatever he wants and apparently he cant.
And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
Is it possible he wanted to heal more than a few? What "mighty work" do you think they prevented through their unbelief. This isn't about silence it is very obvious what he wanted to do for them and couldn't.
I never said, he did not heal, I quoted where he could not do a mighty work. You claimed God can do whatever he wants and I pointed out he couldn't. It is easy to see, Jesus wanted to do something great and was blocked by their unbelief.
Yes God is soverign and will not violate his word. That is fact throughout the history of the Bible.
I said, there were people he could not heal! I didn't say he did not heal. The reason they were not healed was because of their unbelief and the Bible says Jesus was amazed at their unbelief. It didn't say he changed his mine or choose not to as you have implied.
No you said, "he can do whatever he wants" I said, he couldn't and showed you a scritpture where Jesus could not do a mighty works. You said, he choose not to and that wasn't in the verse at all.
You need to study Gods word and especially the life of Christ. Jesus said, when you see me you see the father. The thorn in the flesh was a messenger from satan not from God. Satan wanted to stop Paul from preaching the gospel. When Paul prayed three times God said, my grace is sufficient, Paul realized he needed to use his authority in Jesus to resist the devil and he did.
God has plenty of angels to use he doesnt need to use a defeated army to accomplish his will.
Let me show you how confusing ur theology is, the word of God tells us to be like God and it also tells us to shun evil and resist the devil. Now you say God uses the devil to perform his will, yet his body is told to have no part of evil. That isnt being sovereign that is pure biblical ignorance! It is also a very dangerous thing to accredit the works of God to Satans and vice a versa.
You are denying what the scripture plainly says, it did not say he choose not to, it says "he couldn't" You cant twist scripture to suit ur own personal theology, that is dishonest. Go read it again and study it in the Greek you will see you are wrong.
Don't be ridicoulous I never said anything even close to that!!!!
My God is to small, I lived in Africa for 18 years as a missionary, saw God open blind eyes heal the sick, saw paralyze people walk again and many other wonderful miracles. I also saw demon possessed people get delivered by the power of God and today I work with the underground church in Vietnam.
Unlike you I know the difference between satanic works and Gods works Jesus taught their was a difference John 10:10, sadly you allow the devil to do whatever and claim it is a work of God. The Bible teaches to resist the devil, ur theology doesnt allow for that, you accept stans works as Gods something Jesus never did!
Here is a classic example, Jesus wanted to do a mighty work but was hindered by the unbelief of the people. According to ur theological view he can do whatever he wants and apparently he cant.
And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
Psalm 78:40-41 says, "How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel."
Verse 41 says they limited the Holy One, which is speaking of God. The dictionary defines the verb "limit," as "to confine or restrict within limits." We can confine, restrict, or limit God.
That's a totally foreign concept to many people. Many people think there can be no such thing as a limit on God. They see that as removing His divinity. A god that can be limited isn't really a god in many people's thinking.
I will say this: God isn't personally limited by anything or anyone. But when it comes to us receiving from Him, we can limit what He wants to do through us or for us.
God doesn't sovereignly do what He wants with us. We have to co-operate. God Himself is limitless, but what He can accomplish is limited. Not because of any lack of power or ability on His part, but because of the part we have to play.
The problem you will run into is you will confuse the works of Satan for the works of God and will thank God for what the devil is doing and that is bearing a false witness. It is amazing to me how Jesus said, the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy and it is Christians giving God credit for what the devil is doing.
You need to read what Paul said when it comes to being perfected in Christ.
Just because something is in the Bible it doesn't mean it is a truth! Yes it is true it is in the Bible but it isn't truth. Job said many things that were not true but it is true he said them. Job said God takes away but we all know it was the devil not God taking away.
Trails are a part of life wither you are a believer or not and yes difficult times can and will cause people to draw closer to God to some they will run from God. As I have pointed out it is God's word that brings growth and maturity in Christ. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy it amazes me how the devil convinces people it is God doing the killing, stealing and destruction.
I think I might know this better than you, I was a missionary for 18 years in Africa and today I work with the underground church in Vietnam. Hunger for God is not the same as trails causing growth. In these countries that are poor you will find sin, child prostitution and many horrible things but Paul said, How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Rom 10:14
Spiritual warfare, I pointed it out to you that Job didn't have that ability and we do.
Jesus said that we would have trials and tribulations but the word teaches that the Holy Spirit is the teacher of the church not trials. In 1 John 5 it says we overcome the world trails etc. by our faith and faith comes from hearing the word. The problem with ur view is if God is sending or as you say allowing than should we not submit to it instead of fighting aka Spiritual warfare?
Clearly, the writers of the Bible employed the use of fire in many different ways. However, when it came to the spiritual use of fire, they usually attributed fire to God. Yahweh manifested Himself in various forms of fire on many different occasions. (Gen. 15:17), the burning bush (Exo. 3:2-4), pillar of fire (Exo. 13:21), on Sinai (Exo.19:18), in the flame on the altar (Judg. 13:20), and Yahweh answering by fire (1 Kings 18:24, 38).
I think one of the big problems with "reformist theology" Paul Washer and others is they interpret the word according to their circumstances. I call it "circumstance theology" if you feel alone you believe God is hiding when the word says God will never leave you. If you go through a trail or difficulty which maybe because of a wrong decision you made, some will say God is teaching me something etc.
"God allows trials so that we do not remain spoiled children, but we learn to grow as adults. It is for our good!" "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." II Peter 3:18 It is God's word we need to grow in and it is the only thing that causes growth. You will not overcome trials if you don't grow in grace and knowledge. Again you get the cart before the horse. In the parable of the sower Mark 4 Jesus says Satan comes to try and steal the word being sown.
I do not agree with Bain at all. I was talking about those who are supporting his twisted logic . I think what Bain is doing is spiteful and self-serving. I am getting frustrated with folks who say Paul Washer is preaching a works based salvation when a child could see he is talking about genuine, saving faith producing works and that you really can't have one or the other. Many keep using grace as an excuse. Personally I think most who don't like him twist his words because they know he's right
So God allowed evil you say but we as believers are not allowed to allow evil but the Bible says we should be like God. Do you not see there is something seriously wrong with ur premise?
James was not talking about "saving faith" he was talking about if you truly have faith in God it will be reflected in ur lifestyle, fruit of the spirit etc. . Martin Luther didn't understand this and didn't believe the book of James should be part of the Bible.
What good works did the thief on the cross do? Nothing but because of his faith he went to paradise.
If we must perform some kind of "works" then salvation is not by grace.
Again you are confusing two different situations, believers today have authority over the devil Job did not, thus a hedge of protection that Job pulled down because of fear. The NT tells us to resist the devil and submit to God but if God is sending the devil to me as you believe then ur saying that Satan obeys God and performs his will. Jesus said in John 10:10 Satan come to steal, kill and destroy,.. this is not God's will.
The word teaches us we grow through the knowledge of God's word not attacks of the devil if what you say is true then countries suffering famine, disease etc. should be growing in God and glorifying him. Sadly it isn't true those countries do more about glorifying the devil then God.
The foot steps story is a great story but it is not Bible and it actually supports my view point that he never left or hid at all but was there along. To believe that God hides or withdraws from a believer isn't a Biblical concept you can't provide a scripture to support it. As a believer I walk by faith not by sight aka sense this is where PW makes a mistake.
What about James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tested, I am tested by God; for it is not possible for God to be tested by evil, and he himself puts no man to such a test: So it would appear ur understanding that God tested Job is not one held by the early church or the writers of the New Testament. Could it there be another more Biblically correct understanding of Job?
Job was in fear Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Read 1 John 4:18-19 it will explain what happened to Job he was in fear not faith or love. Besides we have a totally different covenant aka relationship with God then Job, he didn't have God on the inside or the anointing or the benefit of the cross, there really is no comparison.
There are no scriptures to support God hides or withdraws from his children, just the opposite, I will NEVER leave thee, I am a faithful God, even if you want to use the OT it says if you seek me you will find me, it doesn't say seek me because I am hiding from you. The reason believers feel God has withdrawn is because they have fallen into works-righteousness God says he resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Sadly PW preaches a works-righteousness gospel.
Where does it say God pulls away? It doesn't he says I will never leave you! James says let know man say God is testing him. You don't know ur Bible you are following a man.
...shall bear good fruit, a new creation will pursue new, Godly things. If you don't bear fruit, then it's a good guess that you're not really saved. Looks like his message did what it was suppose to do, reveal the hearts of men. Stop twisting scripture.
motoruler, I saw a few comments you made about Paul Washer (including a link to a website with a ridiculous "critique" of him), and you think that any mention of works or obedience is teaching salvation through works. What about James saying that faith without works is dead or even Jesus saying that you shall be known by the fruits you bear. A saving faith...
I read your page. You act like there's no such thing as spiritual growth. It sounds like your saying,"BAM" and your a fully mature Christian. We will go through seasons and the Lord's word is always true. I say your taking comments out of context. Having a repentant heart takes time. If the Lord was to reveal everything to us all at once we would not be able to handle it. We connot comprehend the totality of God.
God's omnipotence is far beyond human rationale, comprehension, or logic. You may say that this is a cop out for me, but I doubt you realize how difficult it is for me to daily reject the very sinful nature that is human.
I've watched many things on Dawkins and the evolutionist/atheistic perspective...but I've found nothing that shakes my faith.
Sometimes, you need let go of the scope of human understanding and ask God to take care of the difficulties in your life.
Philos...I believe you are a level-minded and objective individual wanting to find the TRUTH (Whatever it may be).
I pray that you will, for one week (JUST ONE WEEK), let down your guard and ask God to come into your life. Please...just completely surrender your entire being to God.
You see, our hearts are like stone...I struggle with the very same things sometimes. Weakness is hard to cope with...but please just open yourself for a few days and explore all of the things God has to offer.
If you don't like it or just want to go back to your atheistic perspective after that week, that's fine. But just give God a chance to work in your life...
I hope to hear from you and I'll be praying for you. God has wonderful things in store for your life.
Surrender your life to Christ? Thats pure Lordship Salvation and its nothing but a back door approach to a works righteous religion. To be saved is a simple as this. 1 Admit your a guilty sinner under the condemnation of Gods law 2 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, whose redeeming blood will wash away all your sins.
In fact...I'm infuriated by what you've just accused me of. Anywhere in my series of posts, does it say anything about salvation through lordship?
Philos is an atheist...in order to even come to a knowledge of God, he needs to surrender his heart to Him and seek Him. Only then, will he learn of SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST ALONE!!!
Please...don't assume to understand my message when you have either 1) Poor reading comprehension 2) Don't know the full extent of the situation.
If Andrew were to sin in your presence...you label him a false Christian? I truly do fear for those of you who unknowingly accept a salvation of works.
Paul Washer is a MAN OF GOD. God has blessed us by using this man to truthfully proclaim the Bible. Jesus said, "Repent and believe." REPENTANCE IS KEY.
okay, if you have comments on Paul Washer on youtube, at least have the decency to show the whole context in which something was said. Also, the fact that he quotes Spurgeon or anyone else doesn't mean he thinks the same about everything like Spurgeon.
It would seem to me Andrew, that you are full of your own demented wisdom and have no enlightenment of the spirit. The rubbish that your are producing on here is nothing short of backwards logic. It does not even make human sense let alone have any spiritual enlightenment to it. Which would make me seriously question whether you haven the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:8&9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast." I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, THEN CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN" (Galatians 2:21).
Galatians 5:1-2 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.Romans 4:5 "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Did u read that? TO HIM THAT WORKETH NOT!
I absolutely agree with this video Paul Washer sent 5,000 kids questioning weather or not simple faith in Christ was good enough now these kids are going to think their salvation is somewhat part of there own doing which is absolutely WRONG, we ARE NOT justified by how much we think about God or what we do Paul Washer teaches a dangerous gospel of works.
The subject he is speaking of has nothing to do with the parenting of a finite and fallen man or woman. If thats the case then every parent wants nothing but prosperity for their children. Is God like man? God let Israel go hungry, what about Paul's thorn in the flesh, or Stephen being stoned. Does a loving parent allow these things to happen to his children? I suggest you study the sovereignty of God.
The problem with young men like yourself, in my humble opinion, is that you have done nothing in your life but go to school and read others materials and pick the fly .... from the pepper. I see you have alot of opinions on alot of very good preachers. Young man, get out in the world, travel, do missionary work, get your hands dirty and then your 2 cents maybe worth more. All you are doing now is causing strife and discord. You should not even think of hacking on a man like this.Totally unworthy
dude?...how can you dis Paul Washer? The guy has been used by God to change so many lives? And my question to you is this, do you ever leave your house sometimes and go back to check to see is the door is locked or if you turned the oven off? It is good to doubt if it leads you to check to see if things are right. The Bible talks a lot about us examining ourselves. Whats your problem man? Call washer and talk it out with him.
Hi Southernsem. Thanks for the oven analogy. But I hope you don't mind giving it a few more minutes thought...
If God told you, "the oven is OFF". (Of course this wouldn't happen today, since the Apostles are in heaven, and there's no more revelation but for the sake of argument) ... assume God told you, "the oven is off". If you go back and check the oven... You're implying that God either 1) lied, 2) was wrong or 3) can't communicate properly, when he said, "the oven is off."
It's the same with salvation. God says, "everyone believing IS justified." He does NOT say - "everyone believing..." might be... could be.. "justified". Everyone IS justified that believes. So to think, "I believe", but to be unsure of your justification is to imply that God lied when he said all believers are justified. See 1 John 5:10-11. Doubters call God a liar.
Oh, and one other thing. The reason you go to check if you left the oven on in the house, is because the Holy Spirit doesn't remind you about that. (Unless you're a Charismatic of course -- joking). On the other hand, doesn't the Holy Spirit constantly remind believers of the Gospel -- i.e. "everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ is born of God". (Rom 8:16, 1 John 5:1)?
The fact that you forget to turn the oven off, doesn't dishonor the Holy Spirit -- it's not his job to remind you of that. A believer doubting his salvation would, however, disgrace the Spirit, because it would be implying that He is insufficient, ineffectual etc, at "witnessing to [the believer's] spirit, that they are the children of God."
But sir, Paul even said to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling" The Bible tell us to examine ourselves. Theres nothing wrong with that. "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith." 2 cor. 13:5
Thanks for the prompt response. But 2 Cor 13:5 says more than just "examine yourself"!
It says that after examining yourself, if you can't "perceive Christ in you", then "you are reprobate".
"Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith, prove your own selves. Do you not know your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, UNLESS YOU ARE REPROBATES?" (2 Cor 13:5, MKJV)
And that makes sense.. After all, how can someone have Christ in them (the Gospel in them), and be unaware they are saved? Can you be standing in the light of the sun and not know it? Of course not. So why say that someone can have the light of Christ in their mind, and not know it!
ATTENTION: Believers use discernment when listening to videos by AndrewcBain. Similar to Satan, he mixes truth with lies to deceive and manipulate Believers, or prevent others from seeking the Lord. If you are not ALERT and vigilant, you will be misled which is shown by previous messages before mine. I sense a spirit of mockery. Satan you are a LIAR and so are your followers. God Bless
2 of 2 - Testing refines us, increases Faith, and makes us stronger. We are never, ever, to think we know the Lord inside out...we never will, because His ways are not the same as ours. Also, where can I hear Washer say specifically that "God causes Believers to doubt their SALVATION and think they are going to HELL". I did not hear that in the audio recording you shared for Washer. Were those summarized words you've added and attributed to Washer? God Bless
1 of 2 - Humans are imperfect, and prone to pride and doubt. The Lord will test us by simply not answering our prayers as quickly as we'd like him to. Does that not cause us to question "when" the Lord will respond? That is a lack of assurance. Yes we know He'll respond, but when? This does not mean the Lord takes away our salvation, or leaves us unprotected, which it appears many of you have incorrectly assumed Washer is saying. It simply keeps us on our toes. cont...
Finished work at the cross? This sounds like the teaching of the alleged apostle Paul. Read "THE SPIRIT OF THE CHURCH" by Neufeld and Sterling to see that Saul/Paul was duped by Satan into beliving he was serving Jesus. Jesus said He has become sanctified so that we MAY BE ABLE to become sanctified too. Jn.17
I actually believe God hates the Sin, not the Sinner. Perhaps that would be the part I won't literally agree if Paul really said that for the time being.
I am a bit confused about these two things.
I know God loves us not less regardles of what we do. But if we abide by his command, perhaps he will be pleased.
Dear friend, how you address to me is as if You are condemning me. You were trying to stab my heart with your words, that doesn't show your Christ-likeness. At least kyriakon talked to me nicely even though he doesn't agree with me.
It is true what the bible says, By their fruits you will know them. By your fruits, I advise that you should listen or read something in context before judging something in a particular verse.
my friend, "if repenting is part of salvation, then NONE is saved." If we do not repent, we delibrately keep on sinning. And by believing for Salvation by Jesus Christ alone does not make us Children of GOD. Even Satan acknowledges Jesus Is lord and that he provides Salvation but yet Satan does not repent. How does that make us Children of GOD if we dont repent, my dear friend in Christ.
that You try everything with your best to do the good works to obey God and to please GOD.
Paul Washer is setting a high-standard example for us. He does not say it's by our works, but it's the work of the Holy spirit, then followed by our works. Because if we delight in sin, this doesn't prove we are saved. But if you hate sin, but still get trapped with it, repent and Never to do it again, you are still considered saved.
almost listened to his entire sermon, although at first seems like he was talking as if we are saved by merits, but he did emphasize that IT IS NOT EVEN BY 0.01% WORKS WE DO IN OUR LIFE THAT WE MAY BE SAVED, but HIS Grace is what that counts.
But to get clear with all of you, I am not saying that it is our WORKS that pleases God, but rather, Is it the Work of The holy spirit that makes you recognise SIn as Something you really hate
Thank you very much for pointing that out. I do agree with you that it is BY FAITH we shall believe Jesus is the Messiah, and it is not by merits, and if we acknowledge that it is by merits, this has already made Jesus a liar because we don't acknowledge his GRACE.
Kyria, I am deeply concerned about you even as a stranger. There is no wrong in having no assurance about our salvation. BUt it is very SERIOUS if we think we are saved but we are actually not !! See, this is the problem. We as Christians always refer to the Bible NO in CONtext, although we think that we comprehend The bible as a whole. It's not your Oppinion, it's the plain blibical TRUth, My DEAR Stranger !!
Andrew, You have Deceived yourself !! What do you mean We have to contribute Nothing?! It is true JEsus has saved us but not with our WORKS !! It is by FAITH we believe Jesus is LORD but IT IS FOLLOWED BY GOOD WORKS as emphased by Chapter of JAMES....Say if we believe in Salvation, but we Still Dwell in DArkness or live Life not sensitive to SIns, We are mere Pharises !!!!
Andrew, "Sometimes in discipline, God will pull away assurance from a true believer so that they may fear and seek him." (Sermon, "Assurance: Tests of True Faith") <-- Say if this is true, let's say I believe in my salvation, but I have no seriousness in testing whether I am Saved, I have deceived myself and will burn in hell !
Before you go further by saying Paul is wrong, I beg you to pray Countless times bfore using your own Human Judgement !!
I would have to see the actual sermon before i can believe what this guy says is true. I think this is the same guy that said that RC sproul is an agnostic.
Your taking Paul Washer out of context... Although, your points sounds biblically correct, you have no idea what Paul is saying. therefore unless you were to actually meet Paul and ask him what his view on your criticizes were.. i would not be as bold to post a video like this up... Calling someone a false prophet because they were to say something they understand and others take it another way is risky..I say you watch all of Paul's videos and see the theme and the reasons of hard preaching.
loveryplease 1 year ago 2
@loveryplease

CallmeMell 1 year ago
@CallmeMell

Mark this down, Andrew.
You have neither enough maturity in Christ nor enough maturity in Christ to discuss such things.
At a time when clearly even spiritual babyfood might cause you to spit-up, you have decided to challenge elders in the faith concerning solid spiritual food.
Read 1 Corinthians 2:14
If you are truly the Bride of Christ, you should take the opportunity to be silent and allow your Bridegroom's Spirit to guide you into all truth.

Second Peter 3:9 makes a clear statement that the Lord is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Yet many men and women are perishing because they have a choice.
ele12957 3 years ago
So, regarding salvation, God's will is not being done in the lives of many people.
This twenty-eighth verse begins with the word "and." This means that the statement about everything working together for our good is made after Paul had spoken of the Holy Spirit making intercession for us. If we are not cooperating with the Holy Spirit so that He can make intercession for us then everything will not work together for our good.
ele12957 3 years ago
This verse also says this happens for those "that love God, to them who are the called." That means this doesn't apply to everyone. However, this verse has been used to try to convince even unbelievers that God is controlling the circumstances of their lives. That is not the message of this verse.
ele12957 3 years ago
Also this verse did not say that everything that comes our way is from God but rather that the Lord can work it together for our good through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Romans 6:16 clearly states that if we yield to the devil, we become his slaves. The false teaching that nothing happens to us but what God wills or allows has caused many people to yield to Satan's bondage instead of resisting him (Jas. 4:7).
ele12957 3 years ago
People may cite experiences where they learned great lessons through tragedy and argue that these negative experiences are the only way the Lord could have accomplished His will in their lives. Again, that is not what the Bible teaches.
ele12957 3 years ago
Second Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." Verse 17 says that God's Word will make us perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. That means we don't have to learn through hardships. God's Word is for correction and reproof.
ele12957 3 years ago
Although not ordained by God for our good, each of us will experience tribulation. Therefore, we can and should learn from trials, but God's Word could have taught us the same thing with less grief. Anyone who submits to his problems because he believes God has brought them to teach him something is making a great mistake. That mistake is allowing the devil to inflict much pain in his life.
ele12957 3 years ago
Verse 28 is really promising that when we let the Holy Spirit intercede through us with these groanings that cannot be uttered, then we can rest assured that regardless of what the devil brings across our path, God can turn that situation around and work it together for our good.
See how easy the Bible is to understand when you keep it in context?
ele12957 3 years ago
The Bible is correct but ur understanding about God using Satan is wrong!
You do know that Satan doesn't have access to God today like he did in Jobs day? Apparently you don't.
You still not answered the question what are the "greater works" Jesus wanted to do but couldn't.
And you still haven't figured out Paul wasn't in Pride when God said, grace was available. Or where did Jesus use the devil and he came to show us the will of God and who the father is.
ele12957 3 years ago
I already answered the question.
This is the second time ou claimed I have twisted scripture and I will ask again please point it out?
No I am not perfect and I never said I was.
No, you don't understand the Bible says satan is Evil and you claim he gets his orders from God, so you are saying God is evil not me.
God is in control of his Kingdom and always has been.
Btw, you have dodged a number of my questions, if paul was full of Pride how did he manage to get grace?
ele12957 3 years ago
Was God in control of a child molestor who rapes and kills a child?
Why does the Bible tell us to resist the devil and you believe he is sent to do the will of God. Wouldn't we be resisting Gods will when we resist the devil?
Do you not see the confusion ur belief produces. God is not the author of confusion.
ele12957 3 years ago
Where did I ever make such a ridiculous claim?
God is in control but not the way you see it. He has given his church authority over the devil, we are to resist him, cast him out etc. that is what believers are supposed to do.
We do not live in the Old Testament, things have changed, Job didnt have access to the name of Jesus and he certainly wasnt full of the Holy Spirit. You cannot compare what went on in OT times to a blood bought church that is walking in the light.
ele12957 3 years ago
You are on dangerous territory when you make claims that whatever Satan does must be because God wants it. The Bible says, he (Satan) has nothing in me and he has no part of God. Like I said, if God needs to accomplish his will he has his own angels.
Btw, for the record who pulled down the hedge of protection around Job, it wasnt God but God knew it had come down. Study that and you will learn a lot.
ele12957 3 years ago
"How does satan work in your world? Does God react to Satan or is God in total control"
He works the same as he did in the Bible, Jesus said, he comes to steal, kill and destroy! And like Jesus said, he is an enemy to faith and needs to be resisted and dealt with as the Bible commands. The body of Christ has authority over Satan but we need to walk in that authority. Hosea 4 :6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because they have rejected truth.
ele12957 3 years ago
I meet Christians every day who have never Biblicaly dealt with the devil as the Bible commands; I would suspect you are the same. If you believe the devil takes his orders from God. Sorry there is no evil in Gods heart.
ele12957 3 years ago
Show me where I didn't keep "it" in context?
You made erroneous claims that were not founded in scripture at all.
You claimed God sent a "thorn" to Paul because he was proud. The Bible says it came from the devil not God. If Paul was proud, God would resist him yet we see God telling Paul has access to grace, something given to the humble not proud.
If you had studied for yourself you see the obvious contradictions in ur theology. Instead you make insulting comments.
ele12957 3 years ago
I am a follower of Jesus, he is my Lord and savior, salvation is in him alone and no other. It is pretty obvious you know very little about Gods word and his revealed truth.
I hope and pray you learned something through our discussion.
ele12957 3 years ago
"The thorn in the flesh was sent by God to keep him humble. As with Job Satan was the immediate cause, but God was the ultimate cause.
The Bible says God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble James 4:6 . If Paul was proud as you claim, why did God give him grace?
Your comment is in direct contradiction to the scriptures, I pray you can see that.
ele12957 3 years ago
I have given you scripture and you refuse to believe and hold to theological opinions that oppose the truth of Gods word.
Jesus spoke about people holding on to the traditions of man making the word of God of none effect.
I live an exciting life with God, I see God heal and set people free I get to see people who are demonized delivered in the name of Jesus. I grew up as a Calvinist and so I know where you are coming from and I am blessed that God set me free from that dead religion.
ele12957 3 years ago
It says, it was a messenger of Satan not of God, Paul has the Holy Spirit and God has his own angels he doesn't need to use demons to do his will. The attack came from Satan to stop him from preaching the gospel. You been blinded by religious tradition, nowhere does it say God sent the thorn, read the book of Acts it is easy to see where and who the attack was coming from.
ele12957 3 years ago
Ok, then you tell me what "mighty work" could he not do because of their "unbelief"?
ele12957 3 years ago
The point is you said, because God is sovereign he can do whatever he wants. I pointed out he couldn't and proved my point with scripture. Maybe you need to revise ur theology about God being sovereign and keep it Biblical.
Btw, if God uses devils to do his will, please show me where Jesus used them? Remember Jesus was the perfect will of God and revealed his will.
Jesus did cast them out as did his disciples but nowhere Did Jesus send them on missions.
ele12957 3 years ago
I never said he didn't!
ele12957 3 years ago
"katybug2000 give me an example from scripture of Jesus not healing people. "
My answer.
ele12957 Jesus wanted to do a mighty work but was hindered by the unbelief of the people. According to ur theological view he can do whatever he wants and apparently he cant.
And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
And He wondered at their unbelief. Mark 6 5-6
ele12957 3 years ago
Is it possible he wanted to heal more than a few? What "mighty work" do you think they prevented through their unbelief. This isn't about silence it is very obvious what he wanted to do for them and couldn't.
ele12957 3 years ago
So what "mighty work" do you suppose the verse was speaking about?
It obviously had to do with people since their lack of faith prevented it. Please tell us?
ele12957 3 years ago
You have made my point!
I never said, he did not heal, I quoted where he could not do a mighty work. You claimed God can do whatever he wants and I pointed out he couldn't. It is easy to see, Jesus wanted to do something great and was blocked by their unbelief.
Yes God is soverign and will not violate his word. That is fact throughout the history of the Bible.
ele12957 3 years ago
I said, there were people he could not heal! I didn't say he did not heal. The reason they were not healed was because of their unbelief and the Bible says Jesus was amazed at their unbelief. It didn't say he changed his mine or choose not to as you have implied.
ele12957 3 years ago
No you said, "he can do whatever he wants" I said, he couldn't and showed you a scritpture where Jesus could not do a mighty works. You said, he choose not to and that wasn't in the verse at all.
ele12957 3 years ago
A few other things God cannot do, lie, break a promise.
ele12957 3 years ago
You need to study Gods word and especially the life of Christ. Jesus said, when you see me you see the father. The thorn in the flesh was a messenger from satan not from God. Satan wanted to stop Paul from preaching the gospel. When Paul prayed three times God said, my grace is sufficient, Paul realized he needed to use his authority in Jesus to resist the devil and he did.
God has plenty of angels to use he doesnt need to use a defeated army to accomplish his will.
ele12957 3 years ago
Let me show you how confusing ur theology is, the word of God tells us to be like God and it also tells us to shun evil and resist the devil. Now you say God uses the devil to perform his will, yet his body is told to have no part of evil. That isnt being sovereign that is pure biblical ignorance! It is also a very dangerous thing to accredit the works of God to Satans and vice a versa.
ele12957 3 years ago
You are denying what the scripture plainly says, it did not say he choose not to, it says "he couldn't" You cant twist scripture to suit ur own personal theology, that is dishonest. Go read it again and study it in the Greek you will see you are wrong.
ele12957 3 years ago
Don't be ridicoulous I never said anything even close to that!!!!
My God is to small, I lived in Africa for 18 years as a missionary, saw God open blind eyes heal the sick, saw paralyze people walk again and many other wonderful miracles. I also saw demon possessed people get delivered by the power of God and today I work with the underground church in Vietnam.
ele12957 3 years ago
Unlike you I know the difference between satanic works and Gods works Jesus taught their was a difference John 10:10, sadly you allow the devil to do whatever and claim it is a work of God. The Bible teaches to resist the devil, ur theology doesnt allow for that, you accept stans works as Gods something Jesus never did!
ele12957 3 years ago
Here is a classic example, Jesus wanted to do a mighty work but was hindered by the unbelief of the people. According to ur theological view he can do whatever he wants and apparently he cant.
And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
And He wondered at their unbelief. Mark 6 5-6
ele12957 3 years ago
Psalm 78:40-41 says, "How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel."
Verse 41 says they limited the Holy One, which is speaking of God. The dictionary defines the verb "limit," as "to confine or restrict within limits." We can confine, restrict, or limit God.
ele12957 3 years ago
That's a totally foreign concept to many people. Many people think there can be no such thing as a limit on God. They see that as removing His divinity. A god that can be limited isn't really a god in many people's thinking.
I will say this: God isn't personally limited by anything or anyone. But when it comes to us receiving from Him, we can limit what He wants to do through us or for us.
ele12957 3 years ago
God doesn't sovereignly do what He wants with us. We have to co-operate. God Himself is limitless, but what He can accomplish is limited. Not because of any lack of power or ability on His part, but because of the part we have to play.
ele12957 3 years ago
The problem you will run into is you will confuse the works of Satan for the works of God and will thank God for what the devil is doing and that is bearing a false witness. It is amazing to me how Jesus said, the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy and it is Christians giving God credit for what the devil is doing.
You need to read what Paul said when it comes to being perfected in Christ.
ele12957 3 years ago
Not true! Jesus tried to heal people who wouldn't recieve and they stayed sick.
God is sovreign but he doesn't violate his own word.
ele12957 3 years ago

Just because something is in the Bible it doesn't mean it is a truth! Yes it is true it is in the Bible but it isn't truth. Job said many things that were not true but it is true he said them. Job said God takes away but we all know it was the devil not God taking away.
ele12957 3 years ago
Trails are a part of life wither you are a believer or not and yes difficult times can and will cause people to draw closer to God to some they will run from God. As I have pointed out it is God's word that brings growth and maturity in Christ. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy it amazes me how the devil convinces people it is God doing the killing, stealing and destruction.
ele12957 3 years ago
I think I might know this better than you, I was a missionary for 18 years in Africa and today I work with the underground church in Vietnam. Hunger for God is not the same as trails causing growth. In these countries that are poor you will find sin, child prostitution and many horrible things but Paul said, How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Rom 10:14
ele12957 3 years ago
Spiritual warfare, I pointed it out to you that Job didn't have that ability and we do.
Jesus said that we would have trials and tribulations but the word teaches that the Holy Spirit is the teacher of the church not trials. In 1 John 5 it says we overcome the world trails etc. by our faith and faith comes from hearing the word. The problem with ur view is if God is sending or as you say allowing than should we not submit to it instead of fighting aka Spiritual warfare?
ele12957 3 years ago
Clearly, the writers of the Bible employed the use of fire in many different ways. However, when it came to the spiritual use of fire, they usually attributed fire to God. Yahweh manifested Himself in various forms of fire on many different occasions. (Gen. 15:17), the burning bush (Exo. 3:2-4), pillar of fire (Exo. 13:21), on Sinai (Exo.19:18), in the flame on the altar (Judg. 13:20), and Yahweh answering by fire (1 Kings 18:24, 38).
ele12957 3 years ago
Please don't misunderstand me I know trails will come and that it is a part of life here
Fire does purify you are correct in that but it is God and his work alone that does the purification not Satan or trials.
ele12957 3 years ago
I think one of the big problems with "reformist theology" Paul Washer and others is they interpret the word according to their circumstances. I call it "circumstance theology" if you feel alone you believe God is hiding when the word says God will never leave you. If you go through a trail or difficulty which maybe because of a wrong decision you made, some will say God is teaching me something etc.
ele12957 3 years ago
"God allows trials so that we do not remain spoiled children, but we learn to grow as adults. It is for our good!" "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." II Peter 3:18 It is God's word we need to grow in and it is the only thing that causes growth. You will not overcome trials if you don't grow in grace and knowledge. Again you get the cart before the horse. In the parable of the sower Mark 4 Jesus says Satan comes to try and steal the word being sown.
ele12957 3 years ago
God isn't trying to take his word out of our hearts it is Satan and he uses trails etc to do that.
ele12957 3 years ago
I do not agree with Bain at all. I was talking about those who are supporting his twisted logic . I think what Bain is doing is spiteful and self-serving. I am getting frustrated with folks who say Paul Washer is preaching a works based salvation when a child could see he is talking about genuine, saving faith producing works and that you really can't have one or the other. Many keep using grace as an excuse. Personally I think most who don't like him twist his words because they know he's right
joncbartlett 3 years ago
So God allowed evil you say but we as believers are not allowed to allow evil but the Bible says we should be like God. Do you not see there is something seriously wrong with ur premise?
ele12957 3 years ago
James was not talking about "saving faith" he was talking about if you truly have faith in God it will be reflected in ur lifestyle, fruit of the spirit etc. . Martin Luther didn't understand this and didn't believe the book of James should be part of the Bible.
What good works did the thief on the cross do? Nothing but because of his faith he went to paradise.
If we must perform some kind of "works" then salvation is not by grace.
ele12957 3 years ago
Again you are confusing two different situations, believers today have authority over the devil Job did not, thus a hedge of protection that Job pulled down because of fear. The NT tells us to resist the devil and submit to God but if God is sending the devil to me as you believe then ur saying that Satan obeys God and performs his will. Jesus said in John 10:10 Satan come to steal, kill and destroy,.. this is not God's will.
ele12957 3 years ago
The word teaches us we grow through the knowledge of God's word not attacks of the devil if what you say is true then countries suffering famine, disease etc. should be growing in God and glorifying him. Sadly it isn't true those countries do more about glorifying the devil then God.
ele12957 3 years ago
The foot steps story is a great story but it is not Bible and it actually supports my view point that he never left or hid at all but was there along. To believe that God hides or withdraws from a believer isn't a Biblical concept you can't provide a scripture to support it. As a believer I walk by faith not by sight aka sense this is where PW makes a mistake.
ele12957 3 years ago
What about James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tested, I am tested by God; for it is not possible for God to be tested by evil, and he himself puts no man to such a test: So it would appear ur understanding that God tested Job is not one held by the early church or the writers of the New Testament. Could it there be another more Biblically correct understanding of Job?
ele12957 3 years ago
Job was in fear Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Read 1 John 4:18-19 it will explain what happened to Job he was in fear not faith or love. Besides we have a totally different covenant aka relationship with God then Job, he didn't have God on the inside or the anointing or the benefit of the cross, there really is no comparison.
ele12957 3 years ago
There are no scriptures to support God hides or withdraws from his children, just the opposite, I will NEVER leave thee, I am a faithful God, even if you want to use the OT it says if you seek me you will find me, it doesn't say seek me because I am hiding from you. The reason believers feel God has withdrawn is because they have fallen into works-righteousness God says he resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Sadly PW preaches a works-righteousness gospel.
ele12957 3 years ago
Paul says we walk by faith nor our senses.
Where does it say God pulls away? It doesn't he says I will never leave you! James says let know man say God is testing him. You don't know ur Bible you are following a man.
ele12957 3 years ago
...shall bear good fruit, a new creation will pursue new, Godly things.

If anyone enjoys this, they are of the same wicked stock that Bain is.
joncbartlett 3 years ago
I read your page. You act like there's no such thing as spiritual growth. It sounds like your saying,"BAM" and your a fully mature Christian. We will go through seasons and the Lord's word is always true. I say your taking comments out of context. Having a repentant heart takes time. If the Lord was to reveal everything to us all at once we would not be able to handle it. We connot comprehend the totality of God.

Take great care in who you publicly pronounce as a false prophet.

And that is the beauty...
Sometimes, you need let go of the scope of human understanding and ask God to take care of the difficulties in your life.
kamaujackson811 3 years ago
Philos...I believe you are a level-minded and objective individual wanting to find the TRUTH (Whatever it may be).
I pray that you will, for one week (JUST ONE WEEK), let down your guard and ask God to come into your life. Please...just completely surrender your entire being to God.
You see, our hearts are like stone...I struggle with the very same things sometimes. Weakness is hard to cope with...but please just open yourself for a few days and explore all of the things God has to offer.
kamaujackson811 3 years ago
If you don't like it or just want to go back to your atheistic perspective after that week, that's fine. But just give God a chance to work in your life...
I hope to hear from you and I'll be praying for you. God has wonderful things in store for your life.
kamaujackson811 3 years ago
Surrender your life to Christ? Thats pure Lordship Salvation and its nothing but a back door approach to a works righteous religion. To be saved is a simple as this. 1 Admit your a guilty sinner under the condemnation of Gods law 2 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, whose redeeming blood will wash away all your sins.
motoruler 3 years ago
I'm sorry that you've misunderstood my comments...
kamaujackson811 3 years ago
In fact...I'm infuriated by what you've just accused me of. Anywhere in my series of posts, does it say anything about salvation through lordship?
Philos is an atheist...in order to even come to a knowledge of God, he needs to surrender his heart to Him and seek Him. Only then, will he learn of SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST ALONE!!!
Please...don't assume to understand my message when you have either 1) Poor reading comprehension 2) Don't know the full extent of the situation.

Paul Washer is a false prophet?!?
Paul Washer is a MAN OF GOD. God has blessed us by using this man to truthfully proclaim the Bible. Jesus said, "Repent and believe." REPENTANCE IS KEY.
God is HOLY.

okay, if you have comments on Paul Washer on youtube, at least have the decency to show the whole context in which something was said. Also, the fact that he quotes Spurgeon or anyone else doesn't mean he thinks the same about everything like Spurgeon.
Esther74 3 years ago

I absolutely agree with this video Paul Washer sent 5,000 kids questioning weather or not simple faith in Christ was good enough now these kids are going to think their salvation is somewhat part of there own doing which is absolutely WRONG, we ARE NOT justified by how much we think about God or what we do Paul Washer teaches a dangerous gospel of works.
motoruler 4 years ago
Paul preaches Christ's word. Your video is a lie.
"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed ... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." - Phillipians 2:12
The gift of Christ is to change a man through the cross and the Holy Spirit, not through a promise to all who say 'I believe and have assurance':
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven" - Matthew 7:21
1wingsolja 4 years ago
The subject he is speaking of has nothing to do with the parenting of a finite and fallen man or woman. If thats the case then every parent wants nothing but prosperity for their children. Is God like man? God let Israel go hungry, what about Paul's thorn in the flesh, or Stephen being stoned. Does a loving parent allow these things to happen to his children? I suggest you study the sovereignty of God.
cha1061 4 years ago
i got 15 seconds into the video and decided you were clearly wrong.
"wide is the gate to destruction but narrow is the path and narrow is the gate that leads to life and only a few will find it"
Did you know that 35% of people in the world proclaim christianity. Doesn't sound like only few will find it if there all true christians.

Call washer and talk it out with him.
southernsem 4 years ago
Hi Southernsem. Thanks for the oven analogy. But I hope you don't mind giving it a few more minutes thought...
If God told you, "the oven is OFF". (Of course this wouldn't happen today, since the Apostles are in heaven, and there's no more revelation but for the sake of argument) ... assume God told you, "the oven is off". If you go back and check the oven... You're implying that God either 1) lied, 2) was wrong or 3) can't communicate properly, when he said, "the oven is off."
AndrewcBain 4 years ago
It's the same with salvation. God says, "everyone believing IS justified." He does NOT say - "everyone believing..." might be... could be.. "justified". Everyone IS justified that believes. So to think, "I believe", but to be unsure of your justification is to imply that God lied when he said all believers are justified. See 1 John 5:10-11. Doubters call God a liar.
AndrewcBain 4 years ago
Oh, and one other thing. The reason you go to check if you left the oven on in the house, is because the Holy Spirit doesn't remind you about that. (Unless you're a Charismatic of course -- joking). On the other hand, doesn't the Holy Spirit constantly remind believers of the Gospel -- i.e. "everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ is born of God". (Rom 8:16, 1 John 5:1)?
AndrewcBain 4 years ago
The fact that you forget to turn the oven off, doesn't dishonor the Holy Spirit -- it's not his job to remind you of that. A believer doubting his salvation would, however, disgrace the Spirit, because it would be implying that He is insufficient, ineffectual etc, at "witnessing to [the believer's] spirit, that they are the children of God."
AndrewcBain 4 years ago
But sir, Paul even said to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling" The Bible tell us to examine ourselves. Theres nothing wrong with that. "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith." 2 cor. 13:5
southernsem 4 years ago
Thanks for the prompt response. But 2 Cor 13:5 says more than just "examine yourself"!
It says that after examining yourself, if you can't "perceive Christ in you", then "you are reprobate".
"Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith, prove your own selves. Do you not know your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, UNLESS YOU ARE REPROBATES?" (2 Cor 13:5, MKJV)
AndrewcBain 4 years ago
Now, what did the Apostle say about those who struggled with their salvation? Were they....
(a) weaker brethren
or
(b) unbelievers
It's pretty clear, the Apostle is saying the latter! (Doubter are reprobates - the Greek for "reprobate" means "cast out" .. i.e. out of the faith!)
AndrewcBain 4 years ago
And that makes sense.. After all, how can someone have Christ in them (the Gospel in them), and be unaware they are saved? Can you be standing in the light of the sun and not know it? Of course not. So why say that someone can have the light of Christ in their mind, and not know it!
AndrewcBain 4 years ago

God Bless
BlessedVessel 4 years ago

Jn.17

The only variance or confusion in our issues is..to Please God AND GOD loves us.
We know GOd loves us=this will never change.
Do we please GOD=perhaps obeying GOd will determine how whether or not GOd is pleased?
FOr example, your Father Loves you no matter how you mess up your life. But if you dont obey, you do not please him, would you?
that's just a discussion, and actually I am wondering are we on the same boat of understanding the difference?
God bless you, my dear Brother in Christ !.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
I actually believe God hates the Sin, not the Sinner. Perhaps that would be the part I won't literally agree if Paul really said that for the time being.
I am a bit confused about these two things.
I know God loves us not less regardles of what we do. But if we abide by his command, perhaps he will be pleased.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
Dear friend, how you address to me is as if You are condemning me. You were trying to stab my heart with your words, that doesn't show your Christ-likeness. At least kyriakon talked to me nicely even though he doesn't agree with me.
It is true what the bible says, By their fruits you will know them. By your fruits, I advise that you should listen or read something in context before judging something in a particular verse.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
my friend, "if repenting is part of salvation, then NONE is saved." If we do not repent, we delibrately keep on sinning. And by believing for Salvation by Jesus Christ alone does not make us Children of GOD. Even Satan acknowledges Jesus Is lord and that he provides Salvation but yet Satan does not repent. How does that make us Children of GOD if we dont repent, my dear friend in Christ.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
See the difference, my dear brother in Christ? I am saying this because I am concerned. I am not here to condemn.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
that You try everything with your best to do the good works to obey God and to please GOD.
Paul Washer is setting a high-standard example for us. He does not say it's by our works, but it's the work of the Holy spirit, then followed by our works. Because if we delight in sin, this doesn't prove we are saved. But if you hate sin, but still get trapped with it, repent and Never to do it again, you are still considered saved.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
almost listened to his entire sermon, although at first seems like he was talking as if we are saved by merits, but he did emphasize that IT IS NOT EVEN BY 0.01% WORKS WE DO IN OUR LIFE THAT WE MAY BE SAVED, but HIS Grace is what that counts.
But to get clear with all of you, I am not saying that it is our WORKS that pleases God, but rather, Is it the Work of The holy spirit that makes you recognise SIn as Something you really hate
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
Thank you very much for pointing that out. I do agree with you that it is BY FAITH we shall believe Jesus is the Messiah, and it is not by merits, and if we acknowledge that it is by merits, this has already made Jesus a liar because we don't acknowledge his GRACE.
The point I wanna speak to you is this, I have
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
I do sense a bit pride in you. If that is the case, do pray about it.
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
Kyria, I am deeply concerned about you even as a stranger. There is no wrong in having no assurance about our salvation. BUt it is very SERIOUS if we think we are saved but we are actually not !! See, this is the problem. We as Christians always refer to the Bible NO in CONtext, although we think that we comprehend The bible as a whole. It's not your Oppinion, it's the plain blibical TRUth, My DEAR Stranger !!
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
Andrew, You have Deceived yourself !! What do you mean We have to contribute Nothing?! It is true JEsus has saved us but not with our WORKS !! It is by FAITH we believe Jesus is LORD but IT IS FOLLOWED BY GOOD WORKS as emphased by Chapter of JAMES....Say if we believe in Salvation, but we Still Dwell in DArkness or live Life not sensitive to SIns, We are mere Pharises !!!!
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
Andrew, "Sometimes in discipline, God will pull away assurance from a true believer so that they may fear and seek him." (Sermon, "Assurance: Tests of True Faith") <-- Say if this is true, let's say I believe in my salvation, but I have no seriousness in testing whether I am Saved, I have deceived myself and will burn in hell !
Before you go further by saying Paul is wrong, I beg you to pray Countless times bfore using your own Human Judgement !!
chickenboy2006 4 years ago
I dont think he is condemning.
If you think he is, I beg you to please realise the seriousness in his message.
If I were to feel condemned, I wouldn't have written this message to you
